I took the MIT - No Code and Machine Learning course in the summer of 2024. I highly recommend the course to people new to the topic and wanting to learn more on the latest in the world of AI and machine learning, as well as get some experience using tools such as RapidMiner and Dataiku. The instructors were friendly and highly knowledgeable, and the course assistant (Saumya) was very attentive and helpful with requests for information and scheduling change requests I occasionally needed. This year, I crossed the threshold of 50. My eldest daughter has just graduated from college and embarked on her career journey, while my younger son is still navigating the adventures of elementary school. For the past 17 years, I’ve been a freelance translator, working with Traditional Chinese in Taiwan. I’ve worn many hats—mother, wife, linguist—but one of the greatest challenges has been to maintain my health, physically and mentally. After all, there’s no backing down when life gets tough. As a mother, I am the rock for my children. My words, actions, and even the way I handle stress all leave an impression on them. No pressure, right?Despite the whirlwind of responsibilities, my passion for learning has never wavered. This year, I decided to venture into uncharted territory by enrolling in MIT's No-Code AI Program. I figured, if I’m going to keep translating, I might as well learn how AI works in the world of text translation. Honestly, I still get a kick out of telling people that I’m back in school at my age. Between video classes, 11 weekly in-class tests, and extra learning materials, the program feels like a microcosm of on-campus life at MIT. Yes, it’s as intense as it sounds. But every time I tackle an AI concept, I’m reminded of why I’m doing this: because I believe in staying curious, no matter the stage of life.Now, let’s talk about the juggling act that is life. After marriage, I became a wife and mother—roles that demand attention around the clock. My time is often fragmented into homework help, meal prep, and life’s endless to-dos. Upskilling during this chaos? It's like playing Tetris with hours instead of blocks. Yet, somehow, squeezing in professional growth amidst a sea of commitments has become my personal sport. Some of my friends lovingly call me a workaholic. I like to think I’m just an enthusiast for a full life.Whenever my friends ask me for advice, I tell them: Stay true to yourself and own your decisions. We’re all faced with countless crossroads in life, and it’s our responsibility to choose our paths. Regret, after all, doesn’t come with a handy “undo” button. If you know what you want, go for it—because if not now, when?I have a role model who inspires me: Michelle Yeoh, the Malaysian martial arts actress who won the Best Actress Award at the 95th Academy Awards. Her speech moved me to my core, especially when she said: "Ladies, don't let anybody tell you: You are ever past your prime." These words resonate with me deeply, because every phase of my life—from 20 to 30, 40, and now 50—has carried the same message in different packaging: Keep dreaming. Keep striving. There’s no expiration date on growth.And speaking of dreams, I still hold one close to my heart. One day, I hope to sit in a United Nations meeting, helping to translate Taiwanese Traditional Chinese. It’s a dream that keeps me moving forward, step by step, breath by breath.To all the women balancing countless roles, remember this: We’re never past our prime, and there’s no limit to what we can achieve. No Code AI & Machine Learning course through MIT managed by Great Learning is an excellent opportunity to immerse one's self in the world of artificial intelligence and machine learning.  The course explores modern tools to simplify data extraction and management, AI & MI history, on-going development and present state operations.  
The course is fast paced and requires discipline and focus.  No Code references data tools which do not require a programer background to comprehend though it would help.  Projects are separated by an approach a data scientist would take to complete the prompt or a business interpretation presentation.  While the tools themselves were a lot for me to get my head wrapped round, the business interpretation was well in my wheel-house to execute.  I spent the better part of my weekends going through lectures to keep up with the program's pace.  My favorite part was the recorded lectures and then the weekly live mentor sessions.  It is absolutely impossible not to learn something cool ever week from some over-the-top, down to earth smart people.  If you are up for a great learning challenge this is an excellent option.  Read less

This course definitely met and surpassed all my expectations. It had the perfect combination of mathematical-statistical theory and coding practice. I had taken some courses before in which I was taught what lines of code to run in order to use a certain model, but they all missed the math background that was behind it, which for me is the most important part. You can ask ChatGPT to tell you which lines of code to run, but you can't ask ChatGPT which is the best model according to the data that is only visible to you. There are many questions and decisions that will arise depending on how you manage the data, that only a strong statistical background can help you solve and make.That's one side. The other side that really impressed me is how ready the project managers are to help you. Enrolling in these courses while having a full-time job is really difficult, even more so if your academic background is not related to data science. But project managers in this course completely understand how difficult it is and give you second chances, new opportunities, and solve all your questions. Of course, you have to stick to a schedule, but they really make an effort to prevent your learning journey from becoming unmanageable. They were all very present during the course and I am really thankful for them. Read less

This is a great program to get started with data science. It is very challenging as it is a 12-week program with new topics week after week. If you already know Python and higher-level math, then the 12 weeks will be sufficient. If you don't know Python and/or don't have the higher-level math. You will want to complete all of the pre-course work and buckle up for an exciting, frustrating and rewarding adventure into data science. Read less

I'm incredibly grateful that I had the opportunity to take this 3 month program for Data Science and Machine Learning. I came into this program as a software developer wanting to transition into building Machine Learning models. It was such a comprehensive learning experience and I'm walking away with not only a real world application for Machine Learning and AI techniques and application but also, a better in-depth review of all the statistics and calculus calculations that go behind it. There were 3 case study projects that I can now add to my ML portfolio. My Great Learning platform is user friendly and always responded in a timely manner if you ever had a problem but there no problems with the actual dashboard/platform. The teachers from MIT were really helpful in digging deeper into the different machine learning algorithms, with SO much helpful and informative content. There were walk-throughs and case studies with follow-along videos. There were weekly mentor sessions that were close-knit where you could have any questions answered for that specific module. 

I'm so impressed with the overall program and am definitely going to recommend to anyone looking to learn and build their skills within this highly fast-paced data driven world.  Read less

I recently had the pleasure of completing the Data Science online course provided by Great Learning in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and I am thrilled to share my experiences. It was a great learning environment. The team was very supportive in clearing the doubts and assisting with access issues. I attended the "MIT- NO CODE AI AND MACHINE LEARNING-AUGUST 2023-C" course offered by Great Learning team. I wasn't sure if I would be able to do the course given the complexity of the AI/ML topics. But the faculty, the program manager made the process really smooth with support at any given time of the day. What I really liked about the course is that the video lectures are backed by a lot of supporting material and the weekly sessions revised by mentors.  The course really built confidence in me as I am able to freely converse about AI models, Neural networks deep learning, and NLP. The course has given me the platform to take the learnings and apply in my day to day work. I am super grateful to all the world class faculty who not only taught via video lectures but also in the weekly mandatory sessions. I started the Machine Learning and Data Science with Python course as a student with 0 experience programming with real and existing language. The course raught me Python and helped me understand how machine learning worked with the many self driving companies I've worked with. The program was excellent. Fair warning, it was quite intense with classes 5x/week, multiple projects, and weekly quizzes. However, the content is structured very well and I learned a LOT in a short amount of time. The program advisor Mariam is responsive and helpful in accommodating my requests/questions. The faculty is of course brilliant. My mentor Eshan was also very knowledgeable and supportive. If you're looking to upskill or pivot careers, I highly recommend this course. Read less

MIT IDSS and Great learning’s data science and machine learning course is an excellent 12 week course that gets you on your toes within the first two weeks into the course. The online tutorials are both  thorough and quite engaging.

 If you have a  daytime job be sure to work extra hard to keep up with the ever looming deadlines for submitting weekly exam quizzes and projects after completing each module. 

There is also some mandatory weekend mentorship sessions. Although they are recorded for if you fail to attend . I personally ensured that I attended 100% of the time. This is really important as it gets you the opportunity to engage with industry experts . You also get the opportunity to ask questions and get clarifications on  issues you may have missed or didn’t quite understand. Additionally the mentorship approach is structured in such a way that it fills like you’re breaking new ground into some subtle familiarities.
Their Program coordinators are very professional and accommodating. You can approach them for any questions clarifications or doubts. They always find ways to address your concerns .
  The prerecorded lectures conducted by MIT professors somewhat make you feel like you’re on campus. I am proud with myself for taking this course. I would greatly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn from the best in the field of Data science and machine learning. Read less
