UX/UI Design Foundations

I enrolled in this boot camp because I've been interested in learning about UX/UI for years. Although, my journey started and failed many times before enrolling in Avocademy.Avocademy presented information in a format that was easy for me to learn; a mixture of videos, reading materials, and exercises. Avocademy offered a platform that was affordable compared to other boot camps.Avocademy allowed their students to have unlimited 1:1 sessions with mentors.After completion of Avocademy's Foundations program, I felt confident that I had the basic skills of a UX/UI designer. I enjoyed this program so much that I enrolled in their Career Jumpstart program to get me career-ready.

I recently completed the UX/UI Design course, which was a fantastic experience. From start to finish, the course provided a comprehensive and engaging journey into user experience and interface design.The course structure was well-thought-out and organized, making it easy to follow along and understand even the most complex concepts. Each module built upon the previous one, logically expanding my knowledge and skill set.One of this course's standout aspects was the quality of the content. The instructors did an excellent job of explaining fundamental principles and techniques, backed up by real-world examples and case studies. This practical approach helped solidify my understanding and allowed me to apply what I learned in my projects.The course didn't just focus on theory; it also provided plenty of hands-on exercises and projects. These practical assignments were invaluable in helping me develop my design skills and meaningfully apply the concepts I had learned. Additionally, the feedback and support from instructors and fellow students were invaluable, providing constructive criticism and encouragement throughout the course.I highly recommend this UX/UI Design course to anyone looking to break into the field or level up their skills. Whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience already, you'll find plenty of value in the course content and come away with a deeper understanding of design principles and best practices. I did Avocademy UX/UI Foundations last year, and I'd say it was definitely worth it. The course material was split between external readings/videos, and internal instructor videos and readings. This isn't some secret, exclusive UX/UI information that one couldn't learn on their own, BUT what the bootcamp offers is a collaborative environment to learn the material in a structured way. It also sets you up for success if you move on to do Career Jumpstart (which I'm currently in and really loving, definitely worth it especially for the experience working on real world projects in teams with other students). The unlimited mentorship is also great in both courses; not something I took advantage of as much as I should have, but a great resource to have nonetheless. I do think the deadlines are kind of tight in Foundations, especially if you work full time, so you really have to commit to meeting them, but then again real-life design projects are like this too so it's good preparation. I would recommend this course. 

The Avocademy Foundations course sets a gold standard for student environments! Mentorship is prioritized. From very beginning I felt personalized guidance and support. Foundations course is not just about acquiring knowledge - it's about thriving in a supportive and enriching environment. With mentorship at its core, logical methodology, and a family-like support system, this course sets the standard for excellence in education!

I loved the Avocademy UX/UI Foundations course. You really are learning so much in a condensed amount of time so you need to be someone who can manage your time well and enjoys independent learning, I took a bit longer to finish the course because of my lack of good time management skills but they were so helpful to pushing me through to completing my project. With that said, the course material is thorough and consistently updated. The mentors are readily available to give you feedback on your work and it's given in a constructive & positive way. I personally learned so much from the course and there was no question in my mind that I wanted to pursue their Career Jumpstart course after graduating from Foundations. I'm currently in CJ right now and Avocademy has created such an incredible program, they really pay attention to the needs of their students and make great content to continually help their students grow and progress.

Avocademy not only supplied me with the tools I needed to get started in the UX/UI field, but it helped me gained the confidence to be a self-assured designer. I had no prior experience in the design field and was filled with dread about how I would do in this field because of it. The mentors were always there to show me that I had the skills and the determination to do well and learn new things, and I am so glad that I took the leap and decided to join the Foundations course. I am now a Career Jumpstart student and I feel ready to take on the world of UX/UI design. Avocademy has an excellent educational foundation with a welcoming atmosphere, I really could not have asked for more in a program.

This was the best course/experience I have had! I started my path in tech, learning from Udx, Coursera, and YouTube, as a self-started programmer. I learned a lot but realized I enjoyed much more UX design. I did the same and tried to learn by myself. The thing about design is that if you are alone, your products can suffer from your own bias and preconceptions. That is where Avocademy comes in and helps you get real feedback and guidance. The course has great mentors, real designers with real experience, and they give you constructive feedback, that makes you even more eager to develop your UCD skills. It also helps you build confidence as you learn! Everyone is amazing and helpful, I had great mentoring sessions, even if it was to just talk about the future and expectations. This bootcamp has this differential of guiding you with your technical and soft skills, in building confidence. I can't recommend this Bootcamp enough!

I completed the Avocademy UX/UI Design and Research Boot Foundations Course in 2023, and I must say it exceeded my expectations. The comprehensive curriculum, expert instructors, and hands-on projects provided a holistic learning experience.One standout feature of Avocademy is its focus on practical skills. The course seamlessly blends theory with real-world applications, allowing students to build a robust portfolio. The instructors, who are industry professionals, bring a wealth of experience to the table and provide invaluable insights into the rapidly evolving field of UX/UI design. In conclusion, Avocademy is a top-notch choice for anyone looking to kickstart or enhance their career in UX/UI design and research. The program's quality education, industry relevance, and post-graduation support make it a standout option in the crowded landscape of design courses.

Overall Avocademy Foundations accomplishes the goals it sets out to do. In the beginning, I had zero UX/UI experience and now I completed my project and working with others on a real-world client project. You will learn the typical steps of UX/UI design and each step will give you a deeper understanding of the process. Avocademy Foundations will teach you to be a legitimate UX/UI Designer. The only downside in my opinion is that it is a time commitment, but if you have the time or just really want a new career with a better work-life balance, I highly suggest going through Avocademy!

I enrolled in Avocademy with a very little knowledge of UI/UX design. I've taken a few free online courses so I was familiar with the terms. I personally found the foundations course very helpful as far as the course goes. The content in there is a pretty heavy load for someone who had a full time job but regardless, the mentors were pretty easy to reach and they offer very useful feedbacks on the assigments. I'm now enrolled in their career jumpstart program and I'm looking forward to learning more. 

I still remember the feeling I had when I finished my Foundations project and received my badge. I had just received my completion notice and was looking through my project in my portfolio with the words "Sole Designer" staring back at me and I teared up; I had done it! I was so proud of myself for what I had made and all the work I had put in. I was proud that in a short amount of time, I had gained a solid understanding of what UX/UI design is, and I had developed the skills to put the practices into play and create something fun and functional that also looked good. The Foundations bootcamp is put together very well. The course provides a wealth of information, which is simplified into digestible terms, and provides more in-depth resources on the side for you to explore. They take you through the whole process step-by-step so you get experience in every area. I truly feel like I learned every base skill set needed in this field and I can only continue to grow from here. I felt supported by my mentors and honestly wish I could have spent more time with them because they have so much knowledge. I loved my experience through Avocademy and 10/10 would recommend. 

Going into UX/UI foundations has been one of the best decisions I’ve made for 2023. I went into it a little unsure and insecure if this would be right for me. I work in healthcare and it felt like a big transition. What I learned: I can be a designer. The learning tools, community and mentorship that Avocademy provides is consistent and encouraging. I highly recommend it to anyone considering learning UX/UI. 

I completed the course back in early 2023, and I loved it. I've met so many students throughout the course that I still connect/work with to this day! The course offers many great ways to learn and navigate throughout the interaction design industry, and mentors are there to answer any questions you might have as well! I recommend this course to anyone wanting to further/start their career in the industry.

You enter scared but you leave very excited to explore more about UX design. By far one of the best steps I have taken for my growth as a person. Just take your time and do not rush in and out of it. Mentors will always be there to help and support you. If you feel overwhelmed they are always there to give you 1 on 1 support to better your understanding.

The information created in this course was phenomenal. I had 0 experience with anything tech, but now I feel more equipped to take on roles career-wise in tech. Even though you have a guide, you can move at your own pace, and the mentors are very understanding if you get backed because they understand life happens. But they are with you every step of the way and truly show you the ropes to a career in tech.

Having finished the UX/UI Design Foundations program and continuing with the Career Jumpstart program, the skills that I have learned are immediately relevant and up-to-date. It gives students enough time to go through the videos and content to practice skills with an individual project. Instructors are clear, Design mentors know what to do and what to focus on during the learning experience, and the curriculum has been built up with clarity in mind. Compared to other bootcamps the price is on point as well. I didn't want to do another Design master's degree in the US/EU due to time, budget, and relocation to transition into a fast-paced industry. Everything aside, it builds up your confidence as well to make sure UX/UI is something for you. And I found out it is for me and I enjoy it.

I have great respect for Maca and the mentors who made Avocademy possible, as well as what it is today.I who had no prior background in UX/UI found great success and had a fun time learning and gaining its basic fundamentals. It should come as no surprise that there’s more to know and learn. Maca, aware of this fact, does a great job in encouraging those who come through to maintain their aptitude for learning and growing. “Always ask why,” you’ll hear her say.I’m grateful to the mentors for their guidance and support and for my mates who helped me taste the feeling of accomplishment with their insight.

I signed up for Avocademy's UX/UI Foundations course after taking different, smaller courses through Udemy. I needed to make a career change and I wanted a field that could provide stability for many years to come. Avocademy factors in people's lives, they understand how much time you can commit to the courses. There are mentors available to give guidance, review projects, and give feedback that will benefit your learning and the projects. The one downfall with the reviewing of projects is that multiple mentors can review the same project and potentially give different comments on the same sections contradicting the other. It becomes quite frustrating. Also, sometimes, it's clear that the mentors copy and paste comments in the rubrics or when responding to our submissions. Overall, I would recommend Avocaemy. The mentors that lead videos in the lessons, you can tell how passionate they are and they genuinely want to help you. With ever-growing students, they are adapting the courses and finding what's true and tested. 

I took the Foundations course at Avocademy (currently taking Career Jumpstart) and I learned so much valuable information. I actually had no previous experience using Figma so it was a little intimidating to understand at first, but practice makes perfect and I feel confident I've got it down! Overall it was a great course and would be extremely beneficial to anyone wanting to learn about or further their education in design.
