I love datacamp. I believe it’s a great platform to start. I’m about to finish a bootcamp in data science. Datacamp has helped me to set base, and improve some skills. I don’t recommend it to rely only on the knowledge just from here but build up from it or improve on things you already have. Read less

DataCamp is my favorite platform for learning technical skills. The courses are designed to make the student learn and think about real world issues. Whether it is a beginning, intermediate or advanced course the structure is similar. You learn from short videos; then practice challenging exercises; finally, you put all together with excellent projects. For me, this learning experience is not only rewarding but also exiting. The instructors are extraordinary as well as the content of each course I have taken. I had the opportunity to attend Le Wagon - Data analysis bootcamp in Marseille. It enabled to complement my background in consulting and finance with strong technical skills. I was fortunate enough to access the datacamp platform through their scholarship/give back program with Ingressive for good. I am based in Africa, and currently having employment issues so having funds to access such a platform was something I would have not been able to do without their scholarship opportunity. So I am grateful I have the opportunity to access the platform and upgrade my skills. Datacamp is giving me a chance for a new career and a better life. I recently enrolled in two R tracks on DataCamp and overall, I have had a positive experience with the platform. The courses offer a wide range of content, and I appreciate the flexibility and choices available to learners. However, there is one aspect that has been bothersome and somewhat frustrating: the constant push for an upgraded workspace, which comes with an additional cost.


The courses on DataCamp provide valuable and informative content. The material is well-structured and presented in a clear and engaging manner. I found the instructors to be knowledgeable and effective in explaining complex concepts. The platform itself is user-friendly, making it easy to navigate through the various modules and track my progress.


Unfortunately, my enthusiasm for the courses has been dampened by the persistent advertisement of the upgraded workspace. After subscribing to DataCamp through my workplace, I was surprised to find that I had to pay extra for this "upgraded" feature. This additional cost was not clearly communicated at the time of subscription, and it felt like an unnecessary burden, especially since I had already paid for access.
Moreover, what further exacerbates the issue is the frequency at which DataCamp promotes this upgrade. It feels like every time I log in or complete a lesson, I am bombarded with reminders and offers to upgrade. This constant over-advertisement creates a sense of annoyance and detracts from the overall learning experience.
I understand that companies need to monetize their platforms, and offering additional features at a cost is a common practice. However, it would be more transparent and user-friendly if DataCamp provided upfront information about the additional fees for the upgraded workspace, rather than surprising users after they have already subscribed.


Despite this drawback, I must emphasize that the quality of the course content and the variety of choices available on DataCamp are commendable. If they could address the issue of over-promotion and be more upfront about additional costs, it would greatly enhance the overall user experience.
In conclusion, while I am satisfied with the courses' content and the wealth of options provided by DataCamp, the constant push for an upgraded workspace and the subsequent extra cost have been sources of frustration. I hope DataCamp takes user feedback into consideration and works towards providing a more transparent and user-friendly experience for its subscribers. Read less

I applied for the Data Analytics program in Mexico. The project manager bullied me to withdraw my application and ask for a reimbursement. Even though the program was advertised as a course for beginners, I was told I won’t get the credential because I am a beginner, so I should withdraw my application even before the course started. I told them I would study hard they told me it doesn’t matter. I was told the reimbursement would take max 60 days. Today they told me I might not even get my money back within 60 days. I am on day 35. I don't post negative reviews, but I don't know what else to do to help myself. I lost my job 3 months ago and this was supposed to be a new beginning, instead it is everything but that.  Read less

I've been using Datacamp for a year now to learn the programming necessary for Quantitative Finance, Data Science, and Web scraping with Rvest. It is one of the only bootcamps offering such an inclusive selection. Furthermore, the courses are taught by highly qualified and accomplished experts in the field. I've learned various skills such as backtesting, GARCH modeling, portfolio analysis, etc.. If you're a student I think the $150 is well worth it. Some of the drawbacks, however, prevent me from truly enjoying the courses. Firstly, I found myself spending hours teaching myself concepts they assumed I already knew. This is fine - the high level courses aren't meant to spoon feed beginners. However, I would've appreciated a guideline or outside references to sources where I could better educate myself without wasting time. Some courses are chock full of unneccesarily dense language as well which is annoying. I've also found that some courses lack so much necessary info - especially the course on webscraping. The coding portion is atrocious. Many of it seems to be geared towards memorization rather than conceptual understanding, code can be randomly placed which ends up being very confusing, and the instructions aren't clear enough. Ironically, I think its easier to do open ended projects on my own than writing code within datacamp courses. In Rstudio, arguments are specified when you type a function. That isn't available within their native notebook, which is an inconvenience that adds up. They need to reevaluate it to teach concepts, not memorizing every function available. Luckily, you can skip those and still pass. Overall, I would reccomend it because none of the competition stacks up in terms of course availability & instructor quality.  Read less

They "updated" a course, cutting the best professor of data science career track while I am in the midle of the course. They don't even gave me the option to finish my track to get my certificate. His suport takes way to long to give me help. I investedd way to many time and money and now i can't even proceed with my course.  Read less

Feel scammed, price was advertised as a per-month charge of $25, when i looked at my credit card statement i was charged $300, and of course they don't offer refunds. On top of that, the course didn't even have all the datasets so I wasn't able to complete it. Honestly extremely frustrated.  Read less

 I absolutely love data camp. As an intro to R programmer. Despite I being a novice in the R program, the way to learn from the most basic and advanced, containing relevant and general points of the programming, helped me a lot to work on my own projects, I think that it contains all the necessary structure to be able to learn correctly They also included real life projects that helped me relate it to other fields.  Read less

I found the courses very interesting and well built. It definitely helped with the basics! Overall I'd definitely recommend using DataCamp (don't forget to practice "out in the wild" what you learn there).  Read less

Honestly speaking DataCamp is the best learning site to me. I've taken a lot of from Coursera, EdX, Udemy, Udacity but DataCamp is my first love site... It’s step by step coding system is amazing & make easy learning to any learners. Best of luck DataCamp.  Read less

Beware of DataCamp! When you sign up, it's for a year, but it will automatically enroll you in a subscription service that will automatically renew. This is buried in their terms of service. Before the renewal, they will send you a "happy anniversary" email. It looks like spam, but when you scroll below the fold, you'll see a notification in this email that you're about to be renewed.

Datacamp scammed me about of $180. This is a small, new, young business that isn't stable. You always have to be careful of their business practices. 

I graduated and no longer needed the software and haven't used it in over a year. Still they bill you and refuse refund because even though you only sign one year, they will auto-enroll you without your knowledge even though I only signed for 1 year because I knew that's all I would've needed. 

Very deceitful and very sinister business practice. That kind of treatment towards customers made me want to warn everyone to stay away from this service as they do whatever they can to get your money. There's a reason they don't have a phone number or customer support. Because of all the complaints they get and don't want to hear. It's really poor service and nothing they teach isn't already out there for free already. Please do yourself a favor and avoid DataCamp. I cannot stress enough what deceitful business practices they have with auto-enrolling and hidden billing. Do NOT pay for DataCamp. Do NOT use it. learn on your own or buy a book, much more cost-effective anyway. And their exercises aren't always perfect or explanatory either.  Read less

I would say the difficulty with Data Camp courses seem to be on the easier side- they however did a great job making the courses fun. I got my first Data Scientist position and a 10% raise within the same company but different department only 4 ~ 5 months after I started DataCamp. Then I realised that Data Camp wasn't enough for me for my job and I need to learn more, I therefore registered myself into an online master degree. The online master degree is way more challenging than DataCamp but if not because I really enjoyed my experience with DataCamp, I wouldn't even thought about doing an online master degree. I now have my second data scientist position in another company, which pays 69 % higher than my first Data scientist position. While I am taking my online master courses right now, I still use datacamp to brush up my data related skills and I've really enjoyed it. Data Camp isn't everything, but it's really good for people to build up the habit of learning new things every day.  Read less

Strongly not recommend it! Especially if you are new in codding. All other providers from Coursera, EDX to Udemy have better approaches to codding. Some times I visiting their site (DataCamp) and find some useful things. But I strongly not recommend totally rely on this sourse. I'm confident You will not learn faster, but you will understand less.
