Career Jumpstart

I was suspicious just like every other person would be when it came to joining a bootcamp you come across on social media. But I’m glad I took the risk because I learned so much and I’m grateful to all the mentors at Avocademy for all the help and support throughout the course! It only took me 3 months to learn everything I needed to know about ux/ui foundations. TAKE THE RISK BECAUSE IT IS SO WORTH IT! 

Avocademy was one of the best decisions I've made this year. I can tell they really care about all the student's success. Sometimes receiving the mentor feedback can take a while but that's all part of the process. I definitely recommend Avocademy to anyone who's interest in UI/UX design and needs structure and routine to transition. 

Learning alongside other aspiring UX/UI designers was such a great experience at Avocademy. One thing I must say is it wasn't easy, you have to dedicate a lot of personal time doing client projects. They are face-paced and sometimes can be a bit stressful. However, I don't regret doing it because the outcome led to success for me. Took me a few months to get the job which was OKAY! the mentors were always there for me to give me advice and cheer me through this difficult phase. The avo-community is definitely the best thing here, you meet a lot of interesting people coming from all kinds of backgrounds. My favorite part of CJ was the daily meet-up calls, it was always exciting to receive advice from other people who are also in the application/interviewing phase process. My advice in order to succeed in this program is to keep on talking to everyone as much as possible, if you are stuck reach out to the staff or students everyone is super friendly, and have fun! :)

I completed Foundations of Avocademy in July and jumped right into their CJ program. I enjoyed the curriculum and they did a great job of assigning you real life clients to add substance to your portfolio. The only struggle I really experienced was with team members sometimes not holding their own in the projects. They do a phenomenal job prepping you for job applications, interviews, and negotiation. I landed a job after 28 days of applying. Overall, I would 100% recommend this bootcamp. BUT you must put in the extra work yourself too. They give you the tools and you must put in the additional hard work to make yourself and your portfolio. stand out to companies hiring!

Avocademy's Career Jumpstart was a much needed experience for me entering the tech designer world. I was able to make connections and build my network, grow my skills as a designer, and experience what it was like to design for real clients. I recommend anyone entering UX/UI design to take this path, because this community of designers whether a mentor or new fresh designer getting their feet wet are working together to help designers take that next step in the tech world. 

I can’t say enough about career jumpstart. Upon starting, I was immediately met with warm welcomed from everyone in the program. Modules are clearly laid out and you get to jump right into real client work! On top of gaining real world experience working on products, you get the experience of working with other designers , PM’s, etc. Whenever I needed a second pair of eyes or ears , someone was readily available. They helped me with interview prep,portfolio prep/feedback, and mentorship. They helped me gain the confidence to land my first full time role in UX and I couldn’t be anymore grateful. 

After completing the Avocademy bootcamp, I signed up for Career Jumpstart which is really a must have when switching careers to UX Design. I signed up in January 2022, completed two projects, then started job hunting (I also completed another project a month later while job hunting). It took me a little over 6 months to find a job. They certainly have tons of mentor support for interviewing and recently increased the mentors availability which was great, but it's still a tough market. While I felt like they set you up for success with a great portfolio and resume, job hunting was tough for me personally. Some students got jobs within a month or two, so it's certainly possible, but not sure what the average job search length is. I struggled with applying to 160 jobs a month for 6 months straight, and that's what you'll have to do to get the job guarantee. Otherwise you will be pay 7% of your salary with no new job (assuming it's over $40,000), which almost happened to me (even if that did happen they were still going to support me). I would make sure this is something you really want to do and make sure you're in it for the long haul because it's a tough industry to break into right now. If you loved the bootcamp, you should go for it! As a side note, Maca, the co-founder of Avocademy and Career Jumpstart is awesome! She has such great insights and really wants you to succeed. She's constantly involved in mentoring students during the Daily Calls and is great about responding to messages. I think it's really rare to see a founder so involved with her students.

Long story short, they deliver what they promise and more! This program changed my life, and I recommend it to anyone trying to transition to UX/UI, especially graphic designers –which was my case. Avocademy Carrer Jumpstart gives you every tool you need to succeed and access to knowledgeable mentors that guide you every step of the way, from how the heck to start to what to do once you land your job.  The course is structured clearly, intuitively, and easy to follow. Like everything in life, the results also depend on your effort. They set you up for success, but you need to work hard to make it work. However, if you follow the plan and keep improving yourself every step of the way, this will be one of the best investments of your life. 

I joined Avocademy's Career Jumpstart in June 2022, started applying to jobs in August 2022, and got a job in October 2022. I completed 3 client projects that were added to my portfolio and got so many resources and support on my job hunt. I'm not sure how Maca does it but she develops a connection with all of her students and is always available to provide feedback and support. The Career Coaches and Mentors are all amazing. Could not have asked for a better program.

I thank CJ and the team for creating such an incredible program and am SO grateful to Tikok for leading me to Avocademy. I have met such wonderful folks that have truly pushed me and I can now say I am a full-time, hired, UX Designer in the field.  CJ has given me the opportunity to work with various people from different backgrounds, provided me with experience with real client projects, and helped me fine-tune my user experience skills. It was hard work but if you're willing to be consistent and disciplined, this program is for you.   Many have asked if they can do this while working full time and I will say, this is possible!!!!! I was exhausted most days but knew this was all worth it and I was tired of not seeing my fullest potential. I attended CJ daily calls, which provided crucial information to connect with employers and tricks to perfect my interviewing style. I learned so much and it better prepared me for the job application phase. Mentors, career coaches, and other professionals were easy to contact, and it was easy to book appointments with mentors should I have any clarifying questions about my portfolio and work. I also was also fond of the overview videos for each deliverable we may need additional guidance on. The mentors/team will step in should you have any questions and will provide you feedback on things to work on. Again, thank you CJ for helping me transition careers so seamlessly!! 

If you start something from scratch so by definition you won't have prior experience. Neither have I when I started Avocademy BootCamp 1 year ago. It appeared to be the right decision because Avocademy had everything I needed to succeed. From foundation course to working on a real project and full job search assistance. Super cheap course btw and at your own pace. The best $2k I've ever invested in my life and my background is the financial advisor. The ROI on $2k is 5500% in 1 year because I landed a $112k/year job.

Throughout Avocademy's Career Jumpstart program, I was offered a plethora of opportunities that aided me in landing my first job as a UX designer. I was able to work on real client projects in teams, which taught me a lot about how to collaborate and derive accessible design solutions for actual users. I was also offered unlimited mentorship, ranging from design challenge reviews to mock interview prep. The staff at Avocademy truly want you to succeed, be it in the Foundations course or Career Jumpstart. You will be guided through every step of the way.

Avocademy foundations and Career Jumpstart has been life altering! I was extremely unhappy in my field and came across Avocademy. The bootcamp is extremely comprehensive with so much mentorship help from designers themselves. Once I graduated from the boot camp, I was able to join their agency to get real client experience and continually learn about UX Design. I received even more mentorship with how to work with clients and do design handoffs, resume writing help as well as job searching help. With all the experience I have gained, I was able to land a Senior UX role. Avocademy has been so pivotal in my life! 

I found Avocademy haphazardly on Tiktok. After my initial mentor call, I thought this was going to be the best investment I could make in myself. The mentors and peers at Avocademy care so much and are an endless resource through the entire process of changing careers. 

I had a great experience learning with the Career Jumpstart program. The course material was very well oriented and the mentorship was helpful. This program is great for giving real life design experience with clients, which is not like many other courses. I came from a graphic design background, so having this course really helped me to understand more about user experience so that I can make my designs more intentional for users. I would recommend this course for anyone that wants to get into the world of tech as a creative mind.After finishing my portfolio, I was able to get a job within 2 weeks of applying. I couldn't have done this without Career Jumpstart team's help.

I was incredibly prepared from the work I’ve done and landed such an amazing job that ties into what I want to accomplish as a UX and UI Designer and I would not have been able to do it without their help!

I took Avocademy‘s UXUI foundations course and immediately enrolled into Career Jumpstart. The founders Maca and Alex are highly involved and supportive along with all of the mentors. I decided to continue with Avocademy because of their unlimited mentorship and affordability. The job tracking, resume and portfolio reviews, mock interviews, interview debriefs, design challenge help and salary negation offered are so valuable. I joined Career Jumpstart and was able to land a job 6 weeks after I started applying all thanks to Avocademy. In the past, I had been trying to find a job for a year and wasn't successful. I didn't fully understand what it takes to become a competitive candidate and land a job. Thanks to this program, I could create a good resume and portfolio. The mentors are great, they are designers and have been in the field for a while, so they give you great and actionable advice. I would recommend this course to anyone that wants to transition into UX/UI Design.
