Avocademy's Career Jumpstart program has been a game-changer for me. Transitioning from nursing to UX/UI design seemed daunting, but the support I received from the mentors made all the difference. They were always willing to help, offering guidance at every step, so I never felt alone in the process. The program provided me with the tools, resources, and confidence to successfully switch careers and pursue my dream job in UX/UI design. The structured curriculum, combined with the personalized attention from the mentors, ensured that I was well-prepared to enter the field. Not only does Avocademy do a wonderful job in their foundations course to prepare your skills for real world design projects, but the access and support for mentors is one of the most valuable resources I've ever had. They have a variety of mentors available for all areas of your foundational and career development needs. From general reinforcement and positivity, to real world experience, to career guidance in your job hunt, they will guide you for any decisions you have to make. I would not be where I'm at in my professional development without them and this has been undoubtedly one of the best decisions I've ever made!

I graduated from the Career Jumpstart course two years ago, and I haven't had any traction on my job search. It's not fun to pay for a program with a job guarantee, and then losing that support after 2 years of nothing. I just want to be able to access the help as I'm trying to gain any kind of traction for breaking into this field. I won't lie, it's pretty hurtful the way I was treated. I paid them for this help, and now I'm closed out of being able to talk to mentors, help with my resume, or help with my portfolio. When I was looking at bootcamps, it never even crossed my mind that I would be still at square one after 2 years of job searching, and left with no more assistance beyond access to the course content. 

I "graduated" in 2022 and have yet to find a job. It seems lots of people have had great experiences, which is awesome, but this is not my experience. Some of the mentors are good, but overall, unhelpful, contradicting one another, and generally left me to feel extremely unsupported. despite taking their advice, at my peak I was applying to 100 jobs a week, with no calls, no interviews, no nothing. When asked why this is, mentors pretty much shrugged their shoulders and said i wasn't applying enough. after 2 years of rejection, stone walls, no one reaching out, 1:1 calls that had me in tears, useless advice, reading about how people were landing six figure jobs after 2 months of looking, and struggling to keep it together through my bad mental health, i was hospitalized for a suicide attempt. coming back, im trying to rebuild the momentum i lost. i no longer have access to huntr, mentor calls, or the career jumpstart the slack channel, so that's great. i recommend looking elsewhere if you want support through trying to find a job, or if you struggle with any kind of mental health issues--in my experience, this program made them exponentially worse. i've accepted that i'm not going to break into this industry, but hopefully this is a cautionary tale for others.

I graduated with an Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology in 2017. I loved being a CT Technologist but COVID rocked my world and certain perspectives changed and I no longer had the drive I once had. I searched long and hard for the right BootCamp because I'm sure you've seen a million that guarantee this and that but are super expensive. It's a daunting experience trying to find the right BootCamp that isn't just in it for the money. What drew me to Avocademy was that it was the most affordable BootCamp I had seen. I watched videos and read reviews and I immediately scheduled an information call. After the call, I felt like they genuinely cared for my success. It sounds silly but I was taking a chance by taking a big leap into a career that is completely different from the career I was already established in. I needed to know that if I jumped down this long road, I was going to be in good hands. If you're wondering if this is the bootcamp for you then I would absolutely refer anybody to this bootcamp.The program is broken up into two sections: Foundations and Career Jumpstart (CJ). Foundations is teaching you everything you need to know about UX/UI Design. They reinforce all the learned material while building your own project that you put in your portfolio. Career Jumpstart is taking everything you learned in Foundations and then applying it to real projects with real clients. You're grouped up with other designers from Avocademy and complete deliverables and by the end of it you can add it to your portfolio. While you're in projects you eventually start applying for jobs. My fiance was unfortunately laid off from his job so this was the most challenging part for me. Applying for jobs, working on multiple projects, working full-time hours (and overtime), and moving to the other side of the country was extremely hard- but not impossible.While I will refer this bootcamp to anyone I will say you will absolutely be putting in the work. Switching careers is never easy but if you put in your hard work into this there will be a big payout. I wouldn't refer anybody to any bootcamp if you only want to do half the work or plan to be lazy. It's unfair to the other designers who are on projects with you. While not one bootcamp is perfect it seems like Avocademy listens to feedback and is always implementing feedback and introducing new content to help for a better user experience. At the end of it, I will say the support you get from the mentors and staff at Avocademy is worth the tuition alone. I came out with a resume, portfolio, new friendships, and a new job. They help you build a resume that is very much geared towards UX, they were able to spin my 7 years of healthcare experience to help contribute to my UX experience. In terms of the portfolio, you go through many checks while building it. I've spoken to multiple recruiters and have told me they loved how clean and organized my portfolio was. You'll also get to network with other designers at Avocademy who are also in the same boat as you and I have built some really meaningful connections and you never know when a connection can be helpful in the future.If you're on the fence I would say choose Avocademy. I was in the same spot reading reviews on Course Report in Oct 2022 and now here I am about to start my job as a UX Designer in 2 weeks!

I enrolled in Avocademy’s UX/UI Foundation course in May 2023 to learn the foundations to become a UX/UI Designer and they gave me that plus more. Everything was clearly organized and laid out for me. I knew what I needed to do, when I needed to complete work by, how long it would take and most importantly how easily and quickly I could receive support from mentors who do the job I wish to have. Without any background in design or UX/UI I was able create work I am proud of and expand on it now that I’ve graduated from that part and moved on to Career Jumpstart. I’m being challenged to improve and supported along the away. It’s only been a month so far in this new program and I’ve watched one of my peers land an amazing job with Pepsi. I am not yet at the stage where I begin my job search with my mentors support & assistance but I know that Avocademy is providing me with all the tools necessary to make this my career and be successful. I have no doubt in my abilities and my future.

Being able to take this online boot camp is such a wonderful experience. At first I was nervous if I was going to succeed or not, but the mentors make sure you stay on task and they try to accommodate you in any way possible. Avocademy wants to see all of their students become successful in the work force after completing their boot camp. Everyone is so communicative and eager! This especially makes the learning experience so much better!

I landed my dream job as a UX UI Designer, all thanks to Avocademy. Their support sets them apart from other UX UI Bootcamps. They offer unlimited mentor sessions, assist with resume and portfolio building, and even help secure interviews if you're facing challenges. Changing careers can be very scary especially when someone like me has been a stay home mother for the last five years. Choosing Avocademy was the best decision I could have made for my future. After going through Avocademy's UX/UI Foundations course, it was a no-brainer to take the next step by joining Career Jumpstart! I learned a lot in foundations and I desired to expand my design skills. The course is set-up in three phases to get you prepared to work on client projects, a portfolio and your job search. The best part of Career Jumpstart are the mentors. There's unlimited mentorship from experienced designers so the opportunity to further your skills and knowledge in the UX field is endless. So, if you're contemplating on joining, go for it! You won't regret your decision : ) 

I was amazed how much Avocademy was able to provide students in such a short amount of time. I set a goal of transitioning into a completely new field within a year, and I achieved my goal! Not only was the curriculum thorough, it actually prepared me for the workplace. After finishing the program, I felt equipped to jump into my new role, confident in completing projects, and knowledgeable about domain-specific vocabulary and jargon. 

This program gave me the eduction and experience to transition careers. I started the Foundations program and after a year found a job. The Career Jumptart program was imperative to finding the job.

I would not be where I am now without Avocademy. I am beyond thankful for this course and the mentors that helped me along the way. The way the course is laid out makes it easy to comprehend a lot of new information, then helps you put what you learn into practice. This course helped me land a job that I am so excited about. Avocademy's Career Jumpstart is the perfect program for anyone with a foundation in UX/UI design and wants to either be injected into the workforce or level up their early design career. The program works like this:1. Learn some advanced UX skills and get specific feedback from mentors.2. Join the design studio that Avocademy is partnered with and work with other designs on actual UX projects as a contractor; there are mentors and lead designers who walk with you every step of the way. It gives you the chance to experience a real work environment in a digestible size and mitigate mistakes that are part of the learning cycle.3. A job hunt phase, which includes detailed portfolio creation, LinkedIn optimization, and access to a suite of tools and community to connect with recruiters and employers. They also assist with negotiation and interview preparation. The community here is amazing and enduring, don't underestimate it.

I want to kick things off by saying that I had a blast during this course, and the staff was top-notch... at least, until graduation came around. The CJ course rolls out this job guarantee program, promising that if you tick all the job requirements and still don't land a job by your graduation date, you're off the hook for the course fees. Unfortunately, this is where things took a nosedive.
I went through the entire course, checked off all the job prerequisites, but guess what? No job offers came my way, and now the gang is telling me I don't meet the criteria, and I'll have to cough up the $5k upfront. Who has that kind of cash lying around? Seriously, nobody I know.
Here's the kicker: I know, without a shadow of a doubt, that I followed every single rule to a tee. I even provided proof, but they're still insisting I'm not eligible. This is a big problem for me, and honestly, it feels like Avocademy is breaking their end of the bargain. It's looking like I might have to take some legal action here.
Sadly, if I'd known they'd basically pull a fast one on me, I would've never signed up for this course. To anyone out there thinking about giving it a shot, my advice is to think twice. Seriously, reconsider, because they'll gladly take your money and leave you feeling swindled.

I took both UX/UI Foundations and Career Jumpstart from Avocademy. I am happy to say that I graduated from career jumpstart with a full time job and a dramatic increase in my salary! Avocademy is absolutely amazing! I took the Foundations course, in which I learned the foundations of UX/UI. From there, I enrolled in the Career Jumpstart. Both of these programs helped me build skills while working on real-life projects. They offered unlimited 1 on 1  mentorship. Additionally, they helped equip me with how to build my portfolio and resume, as well as helping me prepare for interviews as I transitioned careers. You will not be disappointed with Avocademy.

I am a 40yr old, working, single parent who went back to school to retrain myself and stay competitive.I have experience in media and marketing and I was attracted by the UXUI Designer career path.The Avocademy UXUI Foundations program markets itself as a UXUI certification course that will allow you to "become a designer in 15wks".I paid, outright, $1,800 for the program, 90% of which consisted of links to third-party free content on youtube and free articles/blogs on the internet. I completed the program and received a certificate. Which, I could have learned all of it independently by myself. It was a completely gut-less program where students were essentially paying to teach themselves the material while helping Avocademy create the program and work-out “bugs” as we went along.  Upon "graduation" I was told that in order to be actually "career ready" I would need to complete the 6 month Avocademy Career Jumpstart program where I would work on "real world projects" that I could put on my portfolio in addition to my capstone project from my prior Foundations course. In addition and most important to me was the promise of career support and the guarantee of a job or the program would be free.Prior to accessing the Jumpstart program students were required to either pay up front or sign an agreement to pay Avocademy $500 a month for 13months.I signed paperwork to pay Avocademy after I completed the program because there was a job guarantee and I would be able to afford the payment in my new career.The Career Jumpstart program was awful from onset. I did two (2) real world projects for Avocademy for free and received conflicting, subjective instruction from many different "mentors" and instructors. There were so many holes in the program and turnover with staff that the school had to admit that they were still working out kinks.I never landed a job despite over a thousand applications. The job market is oversaturated and rapidly shrinking. However, Avocademy is saying that I still owe them $6,500 and are threatening to send me to a debt collector if I don't pay.There is more but I don't know if I have the room for all the things that are wrong with this sham school.This whole process was predatory, misleading and fraudulent but you don't have to take my word for it.
