They totally exceeded my expectations every step of the way!
After graduating from college, I really felt lost and anxious about not being able to find a job. I was looking for a coding bootcamp to review the knowledge I picked up in college and improve my skills. Kickstart Coding looked like it had a solid curriculum at a reasonable price so I decided to give it a try after attending some of their information sessions.
I recently landed my first front-end developer job two months after starting the course. I can confidently say that I was shocked at how quickly they prepared me for the transition.
The lessons were really easy to follow along with, and the approach is totally different from anything I experienced before. Instead of overloading me with all kinds of theoretical stuff, Michael focused on the fundamentals of programming, and provided a lot of activities to solidify my knowledge. He covered everything that was required to become a full-stack software engineer, starting with the basics like HTML, CSS, GIT, and Bash, to back-end technologies such as Heroku, Python, and Django, and finished with front-end projects using JavaScript and React. The 1-on-1 lessons were awesome, even if I didn’t always come with questions ahead of time about the course material. We also talked about the tech industry itself, their previous experience as software engineers, their and my current projects, and a lot more.
The custom-pacing structure was definitely a key factor of my success in landing my first developer job. At my request, Liam started my career activities within the first month of my start date alongside my coding lessons. This was crucial to landing an interview after sending out my first application!
Liam walked me through how to write resumes and cover letters, how to prepare for interviews, and basically everything I needed to know to feel prepared for the process. Michael would also dedicate time to preparing me for technical interviews. Even after I failed the last round at the first company, Michael and Liam were always encouraging me and pushing me to go beyond my limits and stay motivated. With that said, I landed my first developer job with less than a dozen applications, which I never had been able to do without the help of Michael and Liam.
I can’t stress this strongly enough, the Kickstart Coding bootcamp was worth every penny! It was such an amazing and inclusive environment. There were people totally new to programming alongside more experienced coders who were there to review their skills, and people who had asked for a more tailored curriculum to help them build their passion projects. It was a really special experience for me. I can’t thank them enough.

Although the program was quite fast-paced, especially for those who are beginning, I appreciate how devoted the instructors and their assistants are to helping everyone. Besides the phenomenal instructors and their aide, the fellow students you meet always make learning fun especially since the whole class all are reaching the same goals. You meet a class of experienced and inexperienced students willing to learn from each other which showcase during the final group project. After giving a break as a product manager in software industry, I wanted learn how to build products by myself with the latest tech-stack, particularly in ReactAfter giving a break as a product manager in software industry, I wanted learn how to build products by myself with the latest tech-stack, particularly in React. I had intermediate skills and knowledge in Web development, so I thought it would be enough to enroll Scrimba Pro and jump into React modules in Front-end Path directly. And it really did work. I learned React basics with Scrimba with a really intuitive and fun way, but also realized that there were some missing parts in my understanding of javascript and DOM API. So I decided to enroll for the Scrimba Bootcamp, and finish the whole front-end modules from scratch, and complete the missing parts. It was the most satisfying learning experience I get from an online course. The intermediate level modules in the curriculum are designed in a way that each challenge actually slowly seeds the patterns used in React and web development in advance, before you reach to further modules.Enrolling to the Bootcamp of course boosts your motivation and confidence thanks to the weekly teacher-led video sessions. I personally enrolled to benefit from this tutoring, to learn more about the work market, strategies, tech-stacks etc and Guil and Micheal helped a lot. In this calls, you also share your progress during the week and what kind of difficulties you run into. If needed, your tutor schedules a one-to-one session for you. Another benefit is that Scrimba code-reviewers, review your solo-projects you build at the end of each module. You receive this reviews by Scrims, Scrimba’s own video-like format, with comments and audio records from the reviewer. Of course this tech is worth to mention while it makes Scrimba unique: just imagine that your teacher is coding on a video lecture but you intervene to the code any time you want and continue to code. Didn’t get it? Just go and enroll one of their free courses, you’ll understand 🙂Overall I can say that, if you are a self-paced learner but still need a solid learning framework and some little push, Scrimba offers the best option. It’s cost-effective, following the best practices, and teaching the latest and most job guaranteed tech. As someone who wasted so much time Tutorial Hell, I definitely recommend Scrimba to anyone wants to land a job in the industry as soon as possible.

Thank you ALL!
As a student for this class I was propelled into the workforce right at the end of the class. Many of the other graduates had the same experience.
This is a fast paced Web Developer based into to everything and into to everything professional Boot Camp. Essentially as a student you need to know these things:
- How to be prepared? Don't come into this class not knowing how to use a file system, this is a class meant for people who are going to get hired by a professional company after 12 weeks. This class is meant for people who have a good understanding of computers and already have an understanding of programming theory and understand how to read syntax. File system structure is not something you teach in this class. Don't be the student the slows everyone else down then drops out after 1-2 weeks.
- If you're a potential student of this class DON'T AVOID IT BECAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE IS A BEGINNER CLASS.
- This class is focused on making YOU INTO A PROFESSIONAL AFTER 12 WEEKS.
- Use logic from 3 to come to a reasonable conclusion to what the class is about.
They also prepare you for job interviews and have other professionals in the business speak to the class, in my class:
- Job Coach Professional Sherri Thomas
- Technical Recruiter at Nextiva Alex Francis
- Melt Media Tech Director Anthony Garone
- Melt Media Hiring Manager Devon Tackett
Sherri is a professional job coach and guided the class on the process of resumes, interviews and job seeking.
Alex works for Nextiva and spoke to us about professional interviews, what not to do and what to do. Alex also provides help with resumes.
Anthony works for Melt Media and spoke to the class about expectations.
Devon works for Melt Media and gave the graduates a preliminary professional technical interview with feedback.
Some things to expect:
- The class has you build a project, your own website.
- There are some costs involved which the College cant pay for if you want to be able to own the site
- The website will be about you as a programmer.
- If you cant afford it Jeff can let you make one on the MCOR server

It was not easy at the beginning but it was amazing to see all you can do with a few lines of codes and that changed everything. I also learned many other skills among them, problem solving which is very important because it will help you in your entire life either you are in technology or not. Great online environment and support learning, great teachers, great school. - 6Reviews2CoursesPivot Technology School offers 20-week, live online Data Analytics, Web Development, and Cybersecurity bootcamps. The primary attraction was that it was free, but even with that advantage, the program did not justify the time commitment. Spending 9 hours a week on Pivot, in addition to working full-time, felt like a waste and took away from time I could have spent with my children or improving my life in other ways.Pivot actively promoted the bootcamp to me, but the quality of its curriculum and course content did not compare favorably to school, college, or even trade school. The program fell short compared to other bootcamps and educational programs I’ve tried, such as Codecademy, FreeCodeCamp, TripleTen, CodeWithMosh, and AppBrewery. Even the free resources offered by these programs, such as simple YouTube videos, proved more valuable than what Pivot provided.Pivot provided no ongoing support or check-ins throughout the program. Career materials were minimal and consisted of generic advice easily found online, such as tips for tech resumes. The program lacked proper resources and a centralized database for learning materials, with the learning experience varying significantly depending on the instructor.Seven months after graduation, my cohort's employment rate was 0%. When people raised questions about these issues on Facebook and LinkedIn, Pivot often ignored or deleted the comments. Unlike companies like TripleTen, Pivot doesn’t showcase their alumni and students, which is telling. I encourage you to search for success stories, but they may be difficult to find.Working for Pivot is not any better, if not significantly worse. They are a tech school that does not leverage technology to enhance the program. These points are worth verifying and fact-checking. - 6Reviews3CoursesThe School of Applied Technology (SALT) is a training provider offering full-time, 13-week bootcamps in full stack development at campuses in Stockholm, Amst... No more Dreamweaver and WYSIWYG, this is all coding! The second certificate built onto the first, and added a 30-hour back-end web development program which included PHP and MySQL and WordPress.org. I learned tons, and the teachers were excellent. The coursebooks are such a valuable tool to use with my projects, and being able to take additional classes live online makes it easy to keep learning. I was able to code a WordPress theme from scratch with what I learned form the WordPress.org class, and was even asked to speak at this past summer's Wordcamp NYC. The instructors know their stuff, and really make learning fun. Nothing is rushed, and they take time to answer all questions. And having the option to re-take a class is also great. These courses were a very worthwhile investment - would recommend to anyone.
