TechSwitch is a 12-week Software Developer training bootcamp followed by an 18-month paid placement offered in London (although currently the training is delivered online due to concerns of Covid safety). The bootcamp and placement are both full time (Monday-Friday) and are not designed to fit alongside work or school schedules. Cohorts are kept between 5-10 students to ensure plenty of time for one-on-one training time. TechSwitch students will learn full stack web development including JavaScript, React, HTML, CSS, C#, SQL, and Docker. All bootcamp students will also be assigned a personal mentor to help with welfare and support learning.
No technical or coding background is required to apply for TechSwitch. The course is aimed towards those looking to re-enter the workforce after a break (e.g. because they have been raising a family) or those currently working in another sector and looking for a career change.
At the end of the bootcamp, TechSwitch students will get assistance with securing an 18-month paid placement with a £30,000 annual salary, pension scheme and 20 days of holiday. During the placement, TechSwitch students will work as part of a development team, writing code and building software engineering skills and experiences. Students may have the opportunity to continue their career at the company where they were placed. Alternatively, students may secure a job elsewhere in the tech sector.
