Scrimba

I recently enrolled in Scrimba's bootcamp, excited to dive into their well-advertised courses and enhance my coding skills. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory.


Within just six hours of purchasing a one-month subscription, my access was inexplicably revoked. No explanation was provided, and my attempts to contact their support team have been met with silence. I'm left feeling frustrated and confused, with no insight into why this happened or how to resolve the issue.


The lack of communication and abrupt cancellation has not only wasted my time but also my hard-earned money. I was eager to learn and grow through Scrimba's platform, but this experience has left me feeling disillusioned and hesitant to recommend their services to others.


I hope that others considering Scrimba's bootcamp will take my experience into account and proceed with caution. It's disheartening to think that a platform with such potential could handle a situation like this so poorly. I hope that Scrimba will address this issue promptly and restore my faith in their services, but until then, I'm left with a bitter taste and a warning to prospective students.

After giving a break as a product manager in software industry, I wanted learn how to build products by myself with the latest tech-stack, particularly in React. I had intermediate skills and knowledge in Web development, so I thought it would be enough to enroll Scrimba Pro and jump into React modules in Front-end Path directly. And it really did work. I learned React basics with Scrimba with a really intuitive and fun way, but also realized that there were some missing parts in my understanding of javascript and DOM API. So I decided to enroll for the Scrimba Bootcamp, and finish the whole front-end modules from scratch, and complete the missing parts. It was the most satisfying learning experience I get from an online course. The intermediate level modules in the curriculum are designed in a way that each challenge actually slowly seeds the patterns used in React and web development in advance, before you reach to further modules.Enrolling to the Bootcamp of course boosts your motivation and confidence thanks to the weekly teacher-led video sessions. I personally enrolled to benefit from this tutoring, to learn more about the work market, strategies, tech-stacks etc and Guil and Micheal helped a lot. In this calls, you also share your progress during the week and what kind of difficulties you run into. If needed, your tutor schedules a one-to-one session for you. Another benefit is that Scrimba code-reviewers, review your solo-projects you build at the end of each module. You receive this reviews by Scrims, Scrimba’s own video-like format, with comments and audio records from the reviewer. Of course this tech is worth to mention while it makes Scrimba unique: just imagine that your teacher is coding on a video lecture but you intervene to the code any time you want and continue to code. Didn’t get it? Just go and enroll one of their free courses, you’ll understand 🙂Overall I can say that, if you are a self-paced learner but still need a solid learning framework and some little push, Scrimba offers the best option. It’s cost-effective, following the best practices, and teaching the latest and most job guaranteed tech. As someone who wasted so much time Tutorial Hell, I definitely recommend Scrimba to anyone wants to land a job in the industry as soon as possible.

As someone with no coding experience and looking to switch careers after experiencing burnout, Scrimba's self-paced Bootcamp was a game changer for me. It was exactly what I needed to start my new journey, and after just four months of studying on Scrimba, I secured a job as a developer. I kicked off my coding journey with Scrimba last February, with the goal of picking up enough skills to work on a project with my brother. I have spent the last few years trying to teach myself to code but nothing has been as effective as joining Scrimba. The self paced sessions and solo projects are extremely helpful, but not as much as the code reviews which gives me a fresh, deeper understanding of my code -- with ideas on how to write better code and ask questions. I quit my full-time job as a chef 14 months ago. I started Scrimba back in June, and studied on my own time as I was also staying at home with our one-year-old. Scrimba gave so many options for meet ups, peer help, and is very flexible with my schedule. Many students have finished the path in three to six months. For me fast forward 11 months and I am excited to announce that I have accepted an offer for a jr. full-stack web developer position.
