I've had an interest in Data Science and AI-related topics for a while, but was never quite sure how I would go about preparing myself for the field. I had taken some smaller individual courses, which helped, but I felt I need more.
Springboard emerged as the best all-around solution for me. Their bootcamp is compact and dense (suggested 6-7 months), but trainees have the option to proceed at their own pace. The flexibility is invaluable, especially for folks who are working full-time and have other obligations. The curriculum was awesome and one of the strongest reasons for me in choosing this program. It covered so much - Data Science Method, Python programming, Data Visualization, Statistics, Machine Learning and AI, Big Data, etc. It also provided a ton of hands-on experience which really helped to build confidence in the material. All along the way, I was helped by the Springboard staff who were simply amazing! From my first call (an assessment of my suitability for the program) to my invaluable weekly mentor calls, career coaching calls, to my course completion emails and discussion, they have always been knowledgeable, super positive and done all they can to support my progress. I cannot recommend Springboard enough!

First of all, I have a great support system at home that allowed me to focus 100% on this course for 4 months. I was able to take a recourse to prepare me for the full-time program.
The first month was HARD. I thought I was going to give up. The assignments are fast, and I spent all of my free time studying. It was difficult not to compare where I stood to others in my class. At my toughest moment, I reached out to my Career Services Manager and my TA. They both helped encourage me and offer support when I needed them.
I would say the most important take-aways for those looking to join the bootcamp: Make sure you have a support system. Don't compare yourself to others in the class. Stay dedicated and find the motivation behind why you're doing this.
Coding Dojo has great resources throughout the course, that continue on for 6 months after you graduate. There is also an option to pay more for a yearly alumni pass.

It didn’t just teach me software engineering, it taught me how to learn on my own and how to push past challenges. I also met some amazing people who made the journey even better.
If you are on the fence about it, my only advice is to go for it. It is completely worth it. Just know what you are signing up for. Codesmith does not babysit you. They give you the tools and the structure, but it is up to you to put in the work. They push you to step up, and that is exactly why you grow so much. It is the perfect mix of being hard enough to inspire you but never so hard that you want to quit.
When it comes to the curriculum, I graduated in November 2023, so I am sure some topics have shifted a little, probably more toward things like AI. But the way the course is structured is what makes it so powerful. In the first half you are getting new lectures every single day. It feels overwhelming and you might think you are not learning everything. Everyone feels that way. What you are really doing is collecting all the pieces of the puzzle. Then, when you hit the project stage, everything clicks. That is when your learning grows exponentially. I loved that stage and learned so much. It did not even hit me until I got my first job how prepared I really was. I realized I had skills that people already in the field were missing, like using the terminal and git properly. Trust the process because it works.
The job search stage was the hardest part for me. By that point I was already a little burnt out. But the great thing is Codesmith keeps supporting you even after you graduate. They offer resume reviews, interview prep, and career coaching. I had my resume reviewed twice and did four mock interviews. After my first mock interview with Alexander, one of the career coaches, I left with so many tips that every phone screen I had after that turned into a real interview. The support is there, you just have to take advantage of it.
Another part that surprised me was the community. I did not think it would matter much, but it ended up being one of the most important things. Your peers are the ones who help you through the tough moments, especially during the job search. I am also grateful to Eric who helped me negotiate my offers and guided me in the right direction.Looking back, I would do it all over again. Codesmith gave me everything I needed to succeed and the support did not stop once the program ended. If you are serious about becoming a software engineer, this is the program to choose.

I loved my experience at Skillcrush in the UX design track. I was originally looking for a synchronous program because I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to keep mI loved my experience at Skillcrush in the UX design track. I was originally looking for a synchronous program because I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to keep myself motivated in a self-paced program with no true deadlines (which was also the reason I didn’t do self-study using all the free resources on the internet).
I ended up choosing Skillcrush because 1) it fit my budget and 2) it was beginner friendly. I had worked as a mental health counselor for 13 years before deciding to pursue a second career, so Skillcrush was super helpful to learn the basics of UX design.
I definitely needed to go above and beyond the coursework, though, in order to really feel comfortable with the concepts and tools. In addition to the class projects, I got hands-on experience by volunteering, doing freelance jobs, and working a part-time contract position.
In the end, Skillcrush was the first step and the foundation of my new career. Seeking my own opportunities for real-world design experience was the second step. The third step was that I built connections with other designers, both in-person and online, which led to getting my current full-time design job.
While Skillcrush won’t get you all the way (I honestly don’t think any program can do that), it was an essential part of my career transition journey. It took me about 2 and a half years to complete the UX design track (while working a full-time counseling job). I’d highly recommend Skillcrush to people who want to learn the basic design concepts, need flexibility, and are prepared to put in additional time and effort to gain experience.

Tech Academy has a robust curriculum that can take even the most novice students with no coding experience and give you the tools to be a legitimate developer. They have very encouraging and motivated staff that are ready and available to help out when needed. This was a very intensive program(that is the whole point of a Bootcamp) where you must really be dedicated and willing to put in the time and effort to succeed. With so many lower cost options The Tech Academy can get quite expensive. That being said, there are so many lower cost options that you may dip your toe into the pool of software development but The Tech Academy is really a one-stop shop if you are really serious about being a full-fledged developer. Their curriculum is very extensive. It at times can get a bit repetitive with some of the content but also it is a way to really make the information sink-in. I had a great experience at The Tech Academy and would highly recommend to anyone who is serious about jumping into this field.

I almost didn't sign up for a bootcamp and wanted to do it myself with online courses. I couldn't really justify a remote camp because why not just do it through udemy otherwise? So I wanted something I could attend in person both for accountability and for atmosphere and environment. I also wanted something affordable.
The fact that the course was only 13 weeks was another big plus. I wanted to be done, and be working on my own projects and looking for a job. So this course gave me what I was looking for.
And hey, another huge perk? I was able to live in the student housing provided. :) The course was great! I would recommend it.

1. The program is well structured and detailed.
2. Data Structures and algorithms section is really comprehensive, especially the foundation material, which helps to understand the concepts in each topic like trees, recursion etc.
3. I found mock interviews to be really helpful as they helped me to reduce my anxiety during actual interviews and the feedback given by each interviewer was very constructive
4. Support team is really great and they are always available in case of any need
Cons -
1. Data Engineering section need more interview questions.
Overall IK has been really helpful for me for interview preparations and to be better engineer. I would highly recommend it for Data Engineering interviews

On the 17th week I was accepted into an internship and it's because of this bootcamp. During the full-time bootcamp it is up to you and how hard you are willing to apply yourself during this time. If you need to recharge, recharge. However, if you have free time, commit it to learning new technologies or improving existing skills. As I write this, I am now familiarizing myself with an entirely new codebase and beginning work with 40 other developers. The curriculum keeps you moving and lays an important foundation for new developers. Also, I would recommend Veronica as an instructor. If you're willing to work hard and you aren't just trying to "get by" - this bootcamp will be great for you.
