SheCodes is a technical skill training provider for women offering online, hands-on coding workshops and a self-paced Professional Developer Bootcamp. The workshops and bootcamp are flexible and designed to fit around a student’s schedule, moving away from traditional, rigid learning methods. The bootcamp curriculum covers HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, OOP, AI, and more. The workshops cover how to effectively communicate with developers, how to become a front end developer, advanced Python skills, and how to break into tech. Students learn through bite-size lessons followed by practical challenges to reinforce their learning. Each week, professional developers review homework assignments. At the end of each workshop, students will build real-life projects like websites and web applications to add to their professional portfolio and impress future employers.
All of SheCodes workshops are beginner-friendly and self-paced. Women of any age are welcome to enroll. There are various packages that students can purchase depending on their coding needs and existing skill level.
At SheCodes, students have access to an online community of 200,000 women technologists. Students who complete the Professional Developer Bootcamp will receive a Verified Diploma upon graduation.

SheCodes Experience
First, I would like to say that I have no coding experience whatsoever. I just graduated from college in May with a Kinesiology/Physical Education degree. My intention was to coach basketball at a University, or the public school system by the time August came. Second, while I was "sheltered in" due to COVID-19, I began to think about the future and what skill I needed to learn to keep myself valuable in the marketplace. SheCodes 3-Week Workshop
Excellent course for beginners!!! I had many preconceived notions about coding: 1) that it's mostly for men, 2) that it's hard, 3) that it takes a long time to learn. Amazing course
I was certain this course would be of excellent standard after attending the "Free Coding Class" by Matt. He has a very simple way of teaching code that is easy to understand for all. It amazes me how much I have learnt in only 3 weeks and look forward to continuing this journey with the more advanced classes. The most enjoyable part for me was working on my final project - you learn so much more from applying what you have learnt in the context of a subject you are passionate about! The SheCodes workshop is a great introduction to coding, learning HTML, CSS and JavaScript in an interactive, engaging and supportive way. Best intro to coding
heard about coding for a while now, but it always seemed intimidating. Thanks to SheCodes I managed to surpass my expectations, and create this project. This worksop has given me valuable skills in HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript ES6 (with the help of CodePen and Visual Studio Code) that I strongly believe anyone should have in this day and age. You will never feel lost or stuck, as the SheCodes team and the other students are there for you at any point. Learned so much
Other courses I tried either went to slow so I got bored or went to fast so I got frustrated. The lessons on SheCodes are taught at the perfect pace and are extremely engaging. It also really helps to have the Slack rooms available to ask for more information or help if needed. Gives beginner coders the confidence they need!
Ever since I took an introduction to programming course in high school, I was always intimidated by coding. I didn't understand how or why people enjoyed spending hours at a computer. The words they were writing did not make sense to me (and that black screen with colored words = frightening!).
However, deep down inside I've always wanted to learn how to code. It's such a useful skill to know! SheCodes gave me the confidence I needed to learn about coding! Most lessons are followed by a challenge, and at the end of the week you complete a homework assignment. Matt makes everything understandable.
If you have questions, João, Lexi and other SheCodes coders can be reached on the Slack channel. I also love that Lexi follows up with each coder each week! I am hesitant about self-paced courses, but Lexi really helps to keep you accountable.
I now understand how coders can spend hours at their computers--they are doing something that they love! This is a course for all ages. I highly recommend!
