SheCodes is a technical skill training provider for women offering online, hands-on coding workshops and a self-paced Professional Developer Bootcamp. The workshops and bootcamp are flexible and designed to fit around a student’s schedule, moving away from traditional, rigid learning methods. The bootcamp curriculum covers HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, OOP, AI, and more. The workshops cover how to effectively communicate with developers, how to become a front end developer, advanced Python skills, and how to break into tech. Students learn through bite-size lessons followed by practical challenges to reinforce their learning. Each week, professional developers review homework assignments. At the end of each workshop, students will build real-life projects like websites and web applications to add to their professional portfolio and impress future employers.
All of SheCodes workshops are beginner-friendly and self-paced. Women of any age are welcome to enroll. There are various packages that students can purchase depending on their coding needs and existing skill level.
At SheCodes, students have access to an online community of 200,000 women technologists. Students who complete the Professional Developer Bootcamp will receive a Verified Diploma upon graduation.

Jumpstart
The SheCodes workshop really opened a lo of doors for me. I had been trying to learn how to code on my own for some time, but taking that first step is really hard on your own. It's not a very long workshop, so you can't really get to deep, but it is great to get you started. Matt explains in a really easy way, you always finish the lesson having understood the content and the course is made in an excitting way, it gives you the chance to figure thing out on your own based on you learned...The SheCodes workshop really opened a lo of doors for me. SheCodes was the first online coding class I've taken that made me feel like I *actually* made lots of progress! I was given the foundational tools of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and got to practice utilizing them each week to ultimately create a webpage of my own from scratch. Amazing experience!
Lessons are taught so well! You are provided with most of the knowledge needed to complete the assignments but, not all. You are forced to use Google to search for the missing requirements to complete the homework, which really teaches you how to find the info you need, like you will be doing in real life. So Worth It!!!
I can't believe how easy it was to learn! I played around with HTML back in middle school and early high school so the HTML part of the course was like a nice refresher. CSS was super fun since you get to start the designing part of the coding. Then came JavaScript. It was a challenge but still super fun! Being a mom with a full time job didn't make it easy to start, and I was unable to find a course with deadlines I could follow with my agenda.
The price is very good, and they give you the chance to pay in instalments if you prefer. They can offer a discount if you are student or unemployed too.

While working, I found this model of teaching to be perfect for me as I could fit the lessons and homework around my schedule. Matt provides easy to follow, step-by-step video lessons on learning code, always paired with written code and other resources to supplement the videos (links, examples, etc.). I found the homework to be an extra challenge beyond the lesson content! Which is exactly what I want out of this course--to be challenged to use the newly learned material independently. I also also appreciate the weekl homework as it keeps me accountable for practicing and building code often. The workshops and videos have been great at grasping the basics into HTML, CSS and JS. A week is plenty enough time to complete all the tasks and Matt makes it very easy to follow along.
