Claim Academy is a 3-month developer coding and software training bootcamp in St. Louis that offers 12-week to 20-week classes in full stack Java, C#/.NET, Javascript, and Cybersecurity analysis. Claim Academy is approved to operate by the State of Missouri Department of Higher Education to train IT professionals. Students can apply with with little to no programming experience, but should be prepared for an in-person or webcam interview, and should complete the Introduction to Java Course through Teachable before the first day of class.
Throughout the three-month bootcamp, students complete pair programming, work with mentors and instructors, and produce a coding final project, which they present to potential employers and other interested parties on demo day. New classes are offered every 6 weeks.
Upon graduation, the team at Claim Academy helps place graduates in companies as Full Stack Software Developers in Java and .Net software development. Claim Academy graduates have been hired into major companies like Daughtery Business Solutions, Carfax, Technology Partners, Centene Corporation, Clearent, and OneSpace.

Read Before Signing Up
Overall, I learned a lot and was challenged by Claim. I do not regret signing up and recommend others to sign up with Claim. Claim is very supportive and will help you propel yourself tremendously. I currently am going into my sophomore year of college and majoring in computer science. I decided to sign up with claim to prepare myself for my college degree and I feel after completing the 12 week full stack java bootcamp that I am more than prepared for the next 3 years of college. The remaining 6 weeks of the course with our teacher, Lamar, was the best experience I have ever had learning about coding and building a real world application. This is a life-changing course for anyone willing to put in the hard work it takes to make it through to the end. At the end of the course you'll have real-world, hands-on experience, and real projects to showcase to potential employers. The staff are all outstanding at what they do, from the instructors, to the mentors, to the back-office support. Not what I expected.
When Claim Academy defined itself as a boot camp and expressed how time consuming and intense the work would be to me, I was expecting a mentally grueling 12 weeks. Instead, I found it to be very laid back, with only 3 hours of lecture a day, and the rest of the time to work alone or in groups. I often wished for more class time, even though learning hands outside lecture hours was invaluable.
My class in particular had some issues with teachers. My class in particular had some issues with teachers. One left the school halfway through, then another led in a difficult to follow manner. Our final instructor was phenomenal, however. They also have non-instructor mentors on-hand that are great assistance.
One of my biggest grievances was the erratic nature of their schedules. We started the course off doing class at 10 am, but after two or three weeks it was switched to 4pm without any warning or reason. They also provide "company spotlights" and "alumni meetings", which are great, but were also often scheduled directly over our already limited class time. A lot of these spotlight hours are also sprung up randomly with only an hour or two warning, which personally led to me missing many of them.
As for the content, I can safely say that I do now know how to code, when I had zero experience or knowledge before coming here. Although I do feel like there is so much I don't know or understand, that would be expected from leaving any school. Most learning comes from real life experience.
I used the VETTEC program to fund my way through this school. Having done that, I would tell anybody with the same capability to go for it. I don't know if I would feel the same way if I had paid out-of-pocket. I'll leave that opinion to somebody who had done that.
Since, I'm only graduating at the time I write this, I haven't received much job assistance yet. They claim to be very helpful. Literally changed my life

From Day 1 the course was challenging and intense, from the early start in the morning to the late nights reading and immersing myself in C#. Class was usually done after a few small coding challenges in the morning, with lectures and hands on coding challenges with instructors in the afternoons, followed by studying for a few hours each evening after leaving the Academy.
I was very fortunate to find myself accepted and a part of this awesome career path in the guiding hands of Ola and his staff. Each person at Claim brought their own brand of expertise and initiative to my learning experience and I was truly able to bring my dreams to life thanks to both their and my own hard work.
If you have any desire to change careers into software development, Claim Academy was an amazing resource and continue to provide me and others with daily job offers, networking opportunities, and career spotlights from a large group of employers.

Fast paced quick learning environment
It's a very fact paced curriculum and is split up into different blocks. The first part of the day is going over exercises and reviewing the previous day's lecture. The day is capped off with the lecture. Throughout the course employers and alumni come by to give presentations, to help network. Near the middle of the course they teach soft skills and resume building, along with mock interviews. It’s 12 weeks of self sacrifice and dedication, so only attend if you’re willing to do just that. I can not say enough good about Lamar, Praneeth, and Hiram. They are excellent teaching instructors who really know their stuff. To this day, I can still message Lamar with a que...3 months of stress, hard work, frustration, then understanding and amazement upon learning and doing. Be prepared to work hard. Overall, it’s worth it. But don’t expect it to be handed to you. It’s 12 weeks of self sacrifice and dedication, so only attend if you’re willing to do just that. I can not say enough good about Lamar, Praneeth, and Hiram. They are excellent teaching instructors who really know their stuff. To this day, I can still message Lamar with a question and he will respond. That kind of dedication can’t be overlooked. The overall structure of the program, however, does need some restructuring. For my cohort, we had one single mentor who also had to spread his time between the C# class, as well as the class that was a few weeks ahead of us. I recommend Claim hire specific mentors, one for Java, one for C#, one for the 9-12 week capstone period. Without this, it makes the course a lot of teaching yourself for the first six hours until the instructor arrives. This does make you become more self reliant on learning, and though appreciated, when you consider a lot of people are quitting their jobs to attend this program, not to mention paying a substantial amount, I personally would have appreciated more time learning with a physical person. I did feel the curriculum was a little outdated. That’s not to say you don’t learn a lot. But I do feel some parts were ultimately unneeded. We learned a lot that seemed to be the “harder” way to do things or that were outdated, and I ended up feeling like the time could have been better spent on other topics or learning a little more about a previous topic. The best advice I can give to anyone is to start early. I attended the cohort in February, and in December I was teaching myself HTML5, CSS, and JS so I hopefully wouldn’t fall behind once the class started. That allowed me the luxury of studying on other parts that I didn’t feel as strong in while others were learning these during I believe our 5th week. It ultimately led me to become a better programmer by taking initiative on my own. I feel the best thing Claim does lies in their access to business partners. This was ultimately my reasoning for attending Claim as I wanted more ways to advertise myself. My cohort had the unluckiness of taking place during the Covid-19 outbreak and that did make the program more stressful than it would have been otherwise. Normally a question could be asked and the instructor could walk to your desk and solve it in a minute. With an online program, you had to share your screen, scroll through all your code to find the issue, then fix it, which would turn small bugs into 10 minute long problems and if multiple individuals had bugs, you can see how this could take up 30 minutes to an hour of class time. Claim did take initiative and I appreciated the way they handled the situation, but I would be lying if I didn’t say it wasn’t stressful and what solely resulted in the reasoning for my 3 star overall experience. I believe had the world issue not have occurred, this would be an easy 4 star experience.
3 weeks have passed and no one has received a job at this time from my 10 member cohort, but the world is just now starting to get back to normal and I would like to update this review once that time comes. It was just an unfortunate situation for those attending at this time, so be sure to do extra research and don't let my situation persuade you. Overall a really good experiance
If you're looking for a challenging environment where you can go from little to no coding experience, to developing your own application in under 12 weeks, this is the place to go. Great Experience

Outside of the content, Claim Academy goes above and beyond to exmplain the process of job hunting in the tech world and they spend a great amount of time preparing one to be ready for the first interviews as entry level developers.
Claim also has a great network of affiliates and even go so far as to set up meetings with recruiters and companies that are currently hiring. The reputation that Claim has with with its afiiliates carries a lot of weight as they are all aware of how intense the training program is.
Overall, the coding boot camp exceeded my expectations and I'm glad I took the time to complete the Immersive Full Stack Program.
