SheCodes Basics

I really loved learning the basics to coding through SheCodes. The exercises were motivating and the support on Slack is great. I loved being part of the community. I learned a lot in just two weeks, and during the final project I even had the urge to do more research about the possibilities of coding. When you're not sure if coding is something for you, SheCodes is a great place to find out!

This workshop was an amazing introduction to coding! I feel much more comfortable with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The courses are broken down in a way that is very easy to follow and it was helpful to do them at my own pace. Matt is a great instructor for first time learners and the Slack community is very helpful and inviting if you run into any issues.

Although I had zero experience with coding and do not work in an area related to coding, design or programming, SheCodes workshop was super helpful to this "initiation". Lessons are very well organized, you can get help as you go to overcome your difficulties and homework are a great way to show your improvements. Keep up the good work. Recommended!

It was clearly explained and easy to follow.

I started the courses with hesitation and fear because trying something new is always scary, and I thought coding is out my league. . My fears disappeared at the very first workshop. The welcome notes from the founder blew my fears away. The classes were well put together easy to follow. Every time I did stack  or needed help the Slack team was there for me(us) I learned a lot and looking forward to co to continue with following workshops. Thank you SheCodes❣️❣️ ❣️

If you have even the slightest interest in coding, do the SheCodes Workshop! At first I was a bit skeptical as to whether I would enjoy the course as I've attempted to code in the past but it never stuck. Believe me, it's worth it! The videos are clear, concise and Matt makes everything as easy to follow as possible. The challenges and homework set out are one of the things that stick out for me from the programme compared to other learning platforms; They encourage you to practise what you've learnt and research things on your own. Another amazing perk is that Matt teaches you not only how to code, but also provides tips along the way of which resources are best to use alongside. It's been an amazing experience and I look forward to doing the SheCodes Plus workshop next!

“Investing in myself by taking my first-ever coding class with the SheCodes Online Workshop is one of the best investments I have ever made this year during the COVID-19 pandemic. At SheCodes, each week consists of short and digestible videos (8-12 mins) along with a coding challenge per video and a weekly homework assignment at the end of the week. At week-3, I have to complete a culminating project where I applied everything I have learned! As a hands-on learner with zero background in computer science or previous coding knowledge, I found myself highly motivated and curious to learn more from start to finish and beyond! I have never imagined that one day I would be able to create my own project from scratch using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in less than 3 weeks. Matt (the instructor) is very organized and clearly explains all the relevant and updated information and resources. All the lessons are also very well scaffolded like a building block! Although there are no group-work assignments in the beginner 3-week course, students can always ask questions about their coding challenges and homework (if stuck) on a Slack forum where all students can join the conversation and help one another solve problems. (Questions that are posted on Slack are also being monitored closely by the SheCodes staff.) Now I can't wait to continue exploring more deeply into the world of programming in the SheCodes Plus React Workshops. I decided to take SheCodes after doing a lot of research and a taster class with Matt. I immideately signed up and I loved every moment of the workshop. The videos for learning how to code are so straight forward and clear and there are alway takes that go along with each new lesson which really helps to understand what you've been shown and if you ever get stuck on something, SheCodes has built a community of people who want to help and support your learning.

My SheCodes experiences was amazing! The workshop was super easy and user friendly. Coding can be intimidating, but Matt explains each lesson clearly and the challenges are easy to do. If you're stuck with a challenge, someone from the SheCodes team is always willing to help. Before SheCodes my experience with coding was only through Myspace and Tumblr. This workshop is a great foundation if you're curious about coding and would like to learn coding. Thank you Matt for creating this workshop for women. Now I'm confident that I have a chance in the tech world among the men. I can't wait to use what I've learned in the workshop and apply it my next job.

This was a great starting point to get my footing with VSCode and the basics of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I feel ready for my Bootcamp coming up in a few weeks now.

Shecodes provides professional online learning videos of coding. In the beginning, I feel nervous and anxious about learning coding because I think it may be difficult for me. However, through learning videos, I figure out that it is interesting and easy to learn. It is a challenge to develop a gorgeous website. In the meantime, I can enjoy the beauty of coding I am capable to make.

I'm very happy I started this coding journey. I never thought coding could be my thing and now I can't stop 🥰! Matt made everything fun and easy and that's why I'm happy I started with SheCodes. I decided to keep on learning and maybe one day work as a developer ( I can't wait ! ) 🙌🏻👩🏻‍💻

This workshop was the perfect introduction to coding. The software, tools, and tips and advice given have been invaluable! I really appreciated the Slack chat - no matter what I got stuck on, there was always another student or expert to help, thank you! Would recommend this workshop to anyone interested in grasping the fundamentals of HTML, CSS and JS, as it is extremely interactive and the content is very accessible, even for beginners. 

Great course from start to finish! The number of lessons each week was initially quite daunting and I wasn't sure at first whether I would have the time to fit them in around work, but once I started and got to know the format, I found it flowed really well. The challenges were fun but tough, there was a really good balance between difficulty and enjoyment. I loved creating my final project and can't wait to keep practicing and building on these new skills.

 I never thought that someday I'd be interested in Coding, but after the SheCodes Express class I got very excited to try it myself. All classes are very easy to understand and very well prepared, which never made me doubt it that I could do it! Totally recommend it to a friend, and hopefully I will change my working area to Coding!
