SheCodes Basics

I signed up with a very -basic- concept of html, not really knowing what to expect except from knowing I was looking for not only a personal challenge, but also a way to develop my skillset for the future. It's incredible how three weeks went by so fast! The lessons were all super clear and the challenges hard enough to get you thinking but never to the point of feeling lost. Loved my experience and can't wait to start the next workshop soon!”

Amazing coding workshop! I am a Designer and a Luxury Marketer and I had always wanted to develop my coding skills to the next level, but I always postponed it because I thought it was very complicated and hard to understand until I got to learn from Matt! He explains in a very smooth and easy way for you to completely understand and his team is always there for your questions. This workshop is exactly what I was looking for, it gives you the ability to apply and create while you are learning and that is what helps you to make the most out of this course. I am now excited to continue with the next workshops to become a front- end developer.

I completed the three week Introduction to Coding workshop and it was such a fun way to learn to code! Everything was well explained and having the opportunity to test the knowledge you learnt in little tests and in week projects solidified what you've learnt. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to learn to code! 

I can't believe how easy it was to learn! I played around with HTML back in middle school and early high school so the HTML part of the course was like a nice refresher. CSS was super fun since you get to start the designing part of the coding. Then came JavaScript. It was a challenge but still super fun! I can't wait to move on to the next course to expand me knowledge! If you are considering joining, do it! You will not regret it!

An absolutely outstanding workshop. In the beginning, I was unsure whether I should do the workshop since I am an absolute beginner. But Matt and his team made the workshop so understandable and interesting so that learning to code was a lot of fun. I especially liked the weekly challenges in which you could see how much progress you were making in the past week. I can highly recommend the workshop. :)

SheCodes Workshop was easy to follow, and so engaging!The creator is the instructor, and not only teaches to you the basics, but he shares with you all the tips to make your code as detailed as possible and readable to other developers.The homework ensures you practice what you've learned after the lessons and ,if you have any doubts, the assistants are available via Slack, which I think is the most powerful tool for communication nowadays. Being a mom with a full time job didn't make it easy to start, and I was unable to find a course with deadlines I could follow with my agenda.The price is very good, and they give you the chance to pay in instalments if you prefer. They can offer a discount if you are student or unemployed too.I'm so grateful Social Media led me to SheCodes, this is a perfect fit! I’m starting the second week of SheCodes Plus and couldn’t be happier.

This is a great first step in understanding how to code in HTML, CSS and JavaScript using VS Code. While working, I found this model of teaching to be perfect for me as I could fit the lessons and homework around my schedule. There is a range of easy to complicated prompts, which help you build ideas one step at a time. There are tons of lessons for each week so they do not skimp in touching base on aspects of coding. Matt also shows you valuable tricks on how to use the internet to answer your questions as well as offer insights into how current coders work, which strengthened my confidence. You won't regret it.

Matt provides easy to follow, step-by-step video lessons on learning code, always paired with written code and other resources to supplement the videos (links, examples, etc.). I found the homework to be an extra challenge beyond the lesson content! Which is exactly what I want out of this course--to be challenged to use the newly learned material independently. I also also appreciate the weekl  homework as it keeps me accountable for practicing and building code often. Help is always available, of course--I personally found the slack community to be VERY helpful when I got caught on homework. Plus, there are solution videos after every lesson and homework assignment. All in all, I feel like my understanding of code has grown substantially after taking this course. I look forward to continuing Matt's advanced courses! Thank you everyone!

The workshops and videos have been great at grasping the basics into HTML, CSS and JS. A week is plenty enough time to complete all the tasks and Matt makes it very easy to follow along.

I loved my experience with SheCodes. I have a background in film and music so I had no idea how coding works. With SheCodes I jumped into a new spectrum which right now has given me a lot of insight on what I can do with my skills. Matt is such a great teacher and I felt really comfortable during the workshops. Also, the support team is awesome and the fact that I you can get hel and support (even for the silliest mistakes) all the time is wonderful. So I am definitely considering continuing with SheCodes in the near future once I have more time. <3 <3 <3

I found the workshop to be very informative and fun! While it is ultimately self led, I found that it was broken down in a way that was easy to follow and understand. I never felt overwhelmed during the workshop. The material teaches you and also tests your knowledge through assignments that challenge you to think.

I am so happy I found SheCodes and decided to take the leap to finally learn to code! Matt is an amazing teacher, I really can't stress that enough. He explains everything so well that for me personally, everything just 'clicked' in my head. Because of SheCodes, I am now on the road to expand my knowledge and pursue this as a life long career. And, yes I will be signing up for the SheCodes React next!!
