Applied Data Science Program by MIT Professional Education

I just completed the Applied Data Science course at MIT (operated by Great Learning).  Wow....what a fantastic course.  The course is very intense, so you should know that you're going to need time to work on the topics... a lot of time.    I easily spent 20-40 hrs per week between the live lectures (3 weekdays, with the MIT professors), the live review sessions (Sat & Sun), and all of the review and assignments.  This course feel like you are taking an MIT-paced course.  It's drinking from the fire hose!But, I learned so much.  I really understand various machine learning models now.  I understand the theory, the performance metrics, the assumptions, and I can critique the models.  In addition, we covered Python, and we covered EDA (exploratory data analysis) and inferential statistics.  The course really is fantastic.  Great Learning provided us with data science mentors, and connected us to all the other students (~200) through Slack.  We were able to continually ask questions and work through the problems, the models, the insights.  I have already been recommending it to my friends and colleagues who are interested in data science or AI.If you have the desire (and the time!), this course is so great.

Irecently graduated from the Applied Data Science program and I think is the right program if you are willing to know more about analyzing data and AI. From the start, I felt the support from the team when I had additional doubts about an specific topic, so you will be able to navigate the program with all the tools that you need.The course started with the basics in Python and Statistics, and then you go deeper into Machine learning, Deep learning, among other topics, so you gradually understand which tools you need to use depending on the project that you are facing.Overall, I highly recommend this program to anyone interested in pursuing a career in data science or expanding their knowledge in this field. The support is something really outstanding and all the sessions are really fruitful and you can notice instantly where to apply the tools/topics.

I just finished the Applied Data Science Program with Great Learning, which was offered in partnership with MIT Professional Education. We had lectures from incredibly distinguished professors from MIT, and great sessions over the week-ends with a mentor, professional in the industry, clarifying the concepts and dispensing helpful tips. The curriculum is very well curated to bring the most relevant content within a tightly operated schedule. Our program manager was kind, enthusiastic and very responsive, and she kept me going at a time when I felt overwhelmed with professional and family obligations. Great learning also has a wonderful dashboard for navigating course content, milestones, career, and community building.I am very impressed with the education received, as well as the opportunities for networking with peers. We are concluding the bootcamp with an optional hackathon - which turns out to be quite fun!

I had the pleasure of enrolling in the 12-week Applied Data Science Program offered by Great Learning. It was well worth the money and time I put into the program and I am extremely glad I took part in this program.When I joined the program, I had no prior knowledge of computer programming or Python. 12 weeks later, I have a strong foundation into the principles of basic data science and I am interested in continuing education into the field of data science. This is because Great Learning did a great job teaching the most essential information about data science and making it easy to understand for a beginner like me to quickly learn as much as I can in this field. Great Learning had great teaching methods, such as video tutorials, video lectures taught by world-class professors in the field, and summarized information from the video lectures. This made it easy for me to quickly learn the essential information about data science in a short amount of time. Furthermore, there was help available 24/7 if I needed it. All we had to do to request help was to submit a query and the instructor would respond promptly to our message within 24 hours. All the opportunities that Great Learning gave to help me when I had questions made it easy for a beginner like me to quickly learn in the field of data science.My program manager Rama Garg also did a great job as a program manager. She was always helping me when I had questions about what we learned in data science. Her class lectures were very helpful and she clearly and concisely explained the information we had to learn. She was very prompt in getting back to me when I submitted an online query for help. Her teaching methods were easy to understand so I felt I could follow along and learn quickly in the field of data science.Even though many students do struggle to learn in online programs where communication can be limited due to lack of face-to-face interaction, I felt that Great Learning as an online program did a terrific job helping me learn quickly than most face-to-face/in class building programs have. The helpfulness and timeliness of the staff in answering support queries, multiple learning methods such as video tutorials, summarized information from lectures, practice quizzes, etc., and the mentored learning sessions took the hurdles of online education away and helped a beginner into data science like me learn a lot in a short amount of time. I feel more confident into the field of data science and feel I can learn at a much more advanced level now. Thank you Great Learning!

While starting the course, since I am passionate about programming, acquired python skills easily, but I was really hesitant about statistics since I learnt statistics during my college days. But I got confidence by going through Great Learning's Pre course content. Since I have been working, it was hard to join my weekdays professor sessions, but since it was recorded, I watched those during my nighttime, and I love instructors weekend sessions where I gained lots of knowledge about those weekly taught concepts. During the course of learning, my mind started to relate to my work-related stuff which was a great feeling. I learnt more deeper while doing assessments, case studies, and projects. This is fast paced course for sure, hence by allocating minimum 10 hours per week for learning will help to understand and experience better. When I compare myself before and after the course, now I am able to understand and apply any data science related articles and the code content. I am so glad that I participated this program and gained data science knowledge. Greatly appreciate Professors, Instructors, and the people who furnished the course content, assessment, case study and projects. Thoroughly enjoyed this program and highly recommend to everyone who is ready to acquire data science course with commitment. 

I really enjoyed taking the course of applied data science with great learning and mit. Rama was such a great help during all course phases. What i really liked the most is the focus on actual fun learning by the provider. Although the content wasn't as easy but it was really fun. I would definitly recomnend it for anyone interested in the field. 

I had the pleasure undertaking the learning journey of the 12-week Advanced Data Science Program held by Great Learning from Jan 2023 to April 2023. After being a software engineer for more than 20 years, I decided to try something new explore the great world of machine learning.When I started this program, I was baffled and perplexed about how I would get through so much content in such a short time.  However, the instructors, as well as the program managers made this program very viable with online recorded sessions , direct email and forum help and also a well design website which helps you correctly navigate the program as you progress from week to week.

The MIT DSML course demystifies AI and machine learning - the materials, tutors and support are fantastic and help you succeed. The learning continues after the course finishes with: you can work through additional materials, and attend masterclasses on the latest developments in the field. Highly recommended!

I recently graduated from the Applied Data Science program and I couldn't be happier with my experience. From the start, the learning team was amazing and provided the support and guidance needed to succeed. In particular, the program manager went above and beyond to keep me motivated and on track, especially when I encountered struggles.

The course content was comprehensive and covered a wide range of topics in the field of data science. I feel that I have gained a lot of valuable knowledge and skills as a result of completing this program.

I didn't know Python, hadn't touched Statistics in 20 years, and really didn't understand what Machine Learning was other than a few buzzwords.  16 weeks later, I am comfortable and confident in these areas and can't wait to continue applying these new-found skills to take my career to the next level.  It really helps you stand out from the rest and well worth the investment of time.

I enrolled in the Applied Data Science Program in September 2022. Since day one, GreatLearning team was in continuous communication and always willing to help in the most efficient way. The Program structure is very well developed and the instructors are highly trained professionals who care about student learning. The Program is definitely helping to enhance my career and I highly recommend it for any professional profile. The Program has an excellent price-quality ratio.

I recently completed 12 weeks Advanced Data Science Program with MIT and Great Learning batch September 2022. Initially when I applied for this course I was not sure how I will find time to study and at the same time to manage my full time work and family. I must say this course is designed and delivered exceptionally good. It is very interactive program, faculty and staff members are super helpful. Specially my program manager Shruti Gupta provided me the needed guidance. Those who are interested in this course should prepare themselves to study at least 8 hours a week in order to successfully complete this course.

I had the pleasure undertaking the learning journey of the 12-week Advanced Data Science Program held by Great Learning during Sep 2022 to Jan 2023. We had modules on Data Visualization, Machine Learning, Practical Data Science, Deep learning and Recommendation Systems.
We had in-depth sessions by MIT Professors and the industry experts as Mentors. The course was hectic, as I am working full time. We had to commit 10 to 12 hours of time requirement per week. One needs hard work and perseverance to complete the program.
I was highly motivated by the program managers and my course mates. Everyone was always egging each other on to meet the goals in timely fashion and providing helpful tips, without breaking the course guidelines. The program involved working on multiple small projects (~20) to give us the flavor and usage of different data science techniques.
Overall, I am extremely happy that joined the program and now I am equipped to handle the data scientists in any Data Science project going forward. The program has also motivated me to keep learning the data science related topics.

This bootcamp was a great experience. I like to tell people that if I had to do it again, I would. I joined the bootcamp without any prior data scientists experience, other than my bachelors degree in applied mathematics. The program allowed me to refresh my math skills, and learn Python. To be more specific, the following topics were covered: Foundation for Data Science, Data analysis and visualization, practical data science, deep learning, recommendation systems and Machine learning. We had live sessions with the  MIT Professionals and recordings were available for revisions. 

I had a great experience with the MIT Great Learning Data Science program. It was an outstanding balance of theoretical and applied content. In particular, I enjoyed the final Capstone project, which was well thought out and focused on problem sets that are aligned with what I've seen in the real world. I also wanted to thank the Program Office (Shruti) for their responsiveness and resourcefulness. 

To start I was unsure I would be able to balance work and the work load of this program. After diving in and giving 110% I found myself giving my final presentation- it was a great challenge to take on! This is a great program if you want to learn applied data science in depth. The leadership and professors are incredible. Keep it up!!!

This course provided the foundational knowledge on a wide breadth of subjects and techniques, as well as the tools and hands-on experience to demystify these techniques. Not only does the course walk you through the background and theory, it also provide you with coding templates and hands-on instruction to help apply what you're learning in real-world contexts. The course covers a vast array of subjects in a short amount of time so the pace can be a bit break-neck (and certain subjects, such as NLP, aren't covered due to time limitations), but I received tremendous support from my program manager (Miriam!) to stay on track and excel. 

When I jumped into this program, I was baffled and perplexed about how I would get through so much content in such a short time. However, the instructors, as well as the program managers made this program very informative and fruitful. Theory, as well as real-world applications definitely made this course thrilling and exciting. I had a lot of fun coding and writing comments on the Jupyter Notebook, and I would definitely recommend people, regardless of their age and experience, to go through this program and learn about the fundamentals of a discipline that is currently booming in the world.  

The whole program was well planned, the learning platform (website) was very easy to navigate, complete and very helpful. The professor are very much not only experts in their fields but also very much approachable, the mentors are also very accomodating and understanding in ensuring that we all understand what needs to be understood, and most of all the program managers really guided us and supported us all through out the program in order to complete the program successfully. Side note: The class was really competitive, everyone was doing their best to achieve most out of the program. A really good learning environment.
