After graduating from college, I really felt lost and anxious about not being able to find a job. I was looking for a coding bootcamp to review the knowledge I picked up in college and improve my skills. Kickstart Coding looked like it had a solid curriculum at a reasonable price so I decided to give it a try after attending some of their information sessions.
I recently landed my first front-end developer job two months after starting the course. I can confidently say that I was shocked at how quickly they prepared me for the transition.
The lessons were really easy to follow along with, and the approach is totally different from anything I experienced before. Instead of overloading me with all kinds of theoretical stuff, Michael focused on the fundamentals of programming, and provided a lot of activities to solidify my knowledge. He covered everything that was required to become a full-stack software engineer, starting with the basics like HTML, CSS, GIT, and Bash, to back-end technologies such as Heroku, Python, and Django, and finished with front-end projects using JavaScript and React. The 1-on-1 lessons were awesome, even if I didn’t always come with questions ahead of time about the course material. We also talked about the tech industry itself, their previous experience as software engineers, their and my current projects, and a lot more.
The custom-pacing structure was definitely a key factor of my success in landing my first developer job. At my request, Liam started my career activities within the first month of my start date alongside my coding lessons. This was crucial to landing an interview after sending out my first application!
Liam walked me through how to write resumes and cover letters, how to prepare for interviews, and basically everything I needed to know to feel prepared for the process. Michael would also dedicate time to preparing me for technical interviews. Even after I failed the last round at the first company, Michael and Liam were always encouraging me and pushing me to go beyond my limits and stay motivated. With that said, I landed my first developer job with less than a dozen applications, which I never had been able to do without the help of Michael and Liam.
I can’t stress this strongly enough, the Kickstart Coding bootcamp was worth every penny! It was such an amazing and inclusive environment. There were people totally new to programming alongside more experienced coders who were there to review their skills, and people who had asked for a more tailored curriculum to help them build their passion projects. It was a really special experience for me. I can’t thank them enough.

I have been exposed to some beginner programming before and took a class in college but only through Aditi’s instruction, I was finally able to clearly understand some concepts clearly and finally there was a break through! I really like the good explanations and even complete beginners should be able to really grab these concepts.
For anyone who can not make the live lecture because of time zone or other obligation, they have the recorded sessions. In my opinion it's important to review every lecture even if you think you know a concept already. Maybe you know how to use it, but not exactly how it works. Then your trainer can explain it much better for it to permanently click in your head if you have doubts!
Thanks Code Gym for the opportunity. I am really confident that I will finally get fluent with programming in Java and I'm learning in a way that I can help train someone else in the future.

En todas las clases se mandan ejercicios para afianzar los conocimientos adquiridos durante la clase, y así, ir construyendo tu base de conocimientos de una forma estable. Todo lo que necesites hacer al final, lo habrás dado en el camino.
En cuanto a los profesores, ha sido un placer. Muy buenas explicaciones y con ejercicios en directo. Si había algún problema con lo que se había dado (no se entendía del todo algo o te quedas atascado en algún ejercicio), siempre podías preguntar y te orientaban para resolver el ejercicio. Si era un fallo de comprensión en cuanto a la teoría, se preocupaban de explicártelo de forma que pudiesen entenderlo.
Es un bootcamp que merece la pena, tanto por el conocimiento que aprendes como por los profesores que lo imparten. Aun teniendo en cuenta todas las facilidades que ofrecen, hay que dedicarle tiempo y tener interés en aprender, y es algo que avisan desde el principio. Besides the phenomenal instructors and their aide, the fellow students you meet always make learning fun especially since the whole class all are reaching the same goals. You meet a class of experienced and inexperienced students willing to learn from each other which showcase during the final group project. FSA doesn't teach you specific technical skills, but also soft skills by preparing you post-graduation. FSA provides its students with a career coach who guides each student with tips and lectures on navigating a world post-graduate. I recommend FSA to students who are eager to learn the fundamental of programming, willing to commit their time and taking each day 1% to grow. I want to give a shout-out to Alex and Elliot (my instructors), Elle (instructor aide), and Laura(career coach), thank you for believing in us.

Coding boot camps are great in taking you from zero knowledge to being able to builds things in record time, but it is hard to learn to think like a developer in such short period. This course really helped me with that.
The curriculum is very vast, and it becomes difficult very fast. I struggled a lot but almost immediately I realized that I was getting better. I don't know if I will ever apply all the concepts that I learned, but it definitely leveled up my coding quality and problem solving skills.
The teacher has a lot of experience and he is really good at explaining complex concepts with simple examples. He also has a lot of patience and always goes the extra mile to make sure that you understand.
The career advice part is also really good, you get CV, LinkedIn and portfolio reviews, and mocking interviews with senior developers.
