Turing's AI Fairness program was incredibly useful for me. Coming from a non-technical background as a program manager at a global foundation focused on digital human rights, I was especially interested in learning AI ethics from a more technical and applied perspective. At first, I worried I might be in over my head, especially as part of one of the earlier non-technical cohorts. But the curriculum, platform, mentorship, and project-based structure made the material much more accessible than I expected. I strongly preferred building projects over taking exams; it felt practical, relevant, and genuinely useful. The feedback and mentorship were excellent, and it was clear that the instructor and creator of the AI ethics program cared deeply about the subject and about students understanding it properly. What I valued most was learning the technical side of what is possible with fairness. The parameters, metrics, tradeoffs, and practical tools not just the high-level social or governance language. The program helped me better understand what is possible technically, where the limits are, and how to help bridge the gap between technical and non-technical conversations about AI ethics. To increase the program’s unique value, it would be great to see additional expert commentary, internal notes, or pro tips provided by Turing staff or mentors. This would offer deeper insights and help differentiate the content.


One especially effective feature is the deadline and time-tracking system, which promotes discipline and consistency. It helps learners stay on track and manage their time more effectively, which is crucial for success in self-paced or remote programs. Read less

I enjoy the flexibility and the freedom to tackle the learning units at my own pace. The content and a level of project are exactly what I expected. Also a quality of the learning materials is really high. Overall I highly recommend the course, especially for people who don't necessarily need to be present in class to learn well. I highly recommend it! Personally, I find it especially valuable because I believe technical people should be involved at the algorithmic  level when it comes to implementing ethical AI. This program combines both aspects beautifully.

I had written paragraphs about this place, but course report required me to register before posting and when I did, the text I had written disappeared. Do not have time to write it again. I have copied it before registering, but I can't past here for some reason too. Suggestions for Improvement:

• As project difficulty increases, more flexible deadlines could be beneficial. Perhaps offering a ‘buy-in’ option for community service, such as peer reviews or forum contributions, could be considered.
• The module resources could be better curated to avoid overlap, ensure comprehensive coverage of the topic, and realistically align with project timelines.
