I was a student of a first batch of data analytics course at Turing College. This was nothing compared to other courses I've tried and I can only give the highest recommendations. I was working part-time at that time so I was able to spend good amount of my time studying. Peer to peer reviews and 1 on 1 reviews with senior team leads were the best way to learn and improve my practical skills. After ~6 months studying I was able to land my first job as a junior data analyst without even finishing the course. Early this year I've made a decision to change my career path to Data Analytics and was lucky enough to find Turing College.

Initially sceptical about the peer-to-peer review system, I now consider it one of the key learning element that makes so much sense. You're constantly reminded of what you've learned so far and that did wonders for my SQL skills.

When applying to Turing College, my main target goal was to learn SQL. Turing College has exceeded my expectations. Whilst the learning is self-based, the practical tasks, which are later evaluated by a senior data-industry professional, reflect actual real world situations. 

Practical tasks mean that you have to solve "problems" that occur in the real world on your own, whereas other courses I have tried presented information in a "follow-along" manner with minimal and surface-level practical tasks/applications. 

Additionally, I've learned about additional topics like RFM, A/B testing and got to deepen my understanding in some areas where I was already familiar (i.e. Regression). 
Overall, Turing College is a very solid starting step in the world of Data Analytics. Read less

Before starting Turing College I came from a completely non-tech related background, the arts, and after Turing College I feel like "I'm in the tech industry now". Turing College really is such a uniquely different style of boot-camp that it feels as though it's in a bit of a category of it's own. I really could talk a lot about the many various ways that TC has created an amazing learning environment, but to keep it simple, let me list some of the main ideas here;

• The curriculum progresses at a great pace, with a very gentle introduction, laying the foundations, up to final projects of epic proportions.
• The curriculum evolves over time to stay relevant with industry trends.
• You really do have so much contact time with working data analysts/data scientists that it really feels more like an apprenticeship than a boot-camp.
• You have a lot of freedom and space for creativity in the projects but still are held to high expectations for accuracy and statistical relevance etc.
• The platform is designed in a way that you are obliged to perform (at least some) peer reviews to continue learning. Often, these were the best moments, full of learning.
• The curriculum asks you to create so many projects that you become so used to 'working as a data analyst' that you really feel ready by the end of the course.
• The endorsement process (job finding assistance) follows the same trend of 1 to 1 contact with working 'hiring managers' to practice for job interviews.
• The online community has grown to be a little world within itself, with a constant supply of people willing to help out those in need.

I can confidently say that I turned into a data analyst at Turing College. It's tough, and asks a lot from you. But it's valuable/current/future-proofed stuff that they're offering. So if you're contemplating, give it a shot!

 Another positive review from a Junior Team Lead (me) at Turing College. The main benefit of Turing College is the community it provides. It consists of peers, professionals in field, and staff. You are, in various ways, encouraged to actively participate in the community.
Perhaps a weaker spot is the curriculum, which consists of various sources on the web. Most if it is free, and in theory, it would be possible to access everything without joining the college. That being said, the corrections (reviews) at Turing make the journey much more fruitful; I'd say I have learnt the most working on the projects, reviewing, and being reviewed. Definetely reccommend. Chose Turing College for my Data Science course based on good reviews and emphasis on hands-on projects. The course is well structured with sprint projects for every new major topic covered, you get plenty of hands-on project work which is evaluated by peers and data science professionals. The program builds your understanding of data science and key skills required for professional application as well: presentation, reviewing and research. The material is plentiful with extra leads if you want to go down certain rabbit holes in your free time or if you want to 'spice up' your projects with fancy new tools. For me the reason Turing College stands out is the community that is built with staff, data science professionals and learners- plenty of live learning sessions to solve problems and discuss ideas with peers and professionals, active discord for pretty much 24/7 troubleshooting, accommodating staff that do the best to fit the course around the individuals. There is always someone to help and encourage which is a huge deal going through the learning process. Data Analytics course exceeded my expectations for an online course. It has merged the best aspects of both online and traditional on-site learning by offering the flexibility and convenience of an self-paced online format and fostering the community spirit of on-site education.

The project evaluations were particularly insightful, involving reviews from both advanced peers who had previously completed the tasks and senior professionals. This dual-perspective feedback facilitated valuable knowledge sharing and diverse insights.

Additionally, the opportunity to be a reviewer added an extra dimension to my learning experience. It's one thing to learn from your work, but evaluating others' projects offered new perspectives and a deeper understanding of the subject matter. Different type of learning experience, you will learn by your own pace from material instead of traditional way of having classes with bunch of other students which may consume a lot of your time in regular bootcamp. Second best thing is that you will review other projects and will participate in stand-ups which I would say is good preparation for work environment. As well community is very friendly. Read less

If you are looking to get into Data Science and want to find a good curation of material and resources to drive your self-learning, so you use your time as effectively as possible, Turing College might be a good fit.

As someone who enjoys efficiency and deep understanding of topics, Turing College offers a well structured syllabus, and access to online self-paced resources (O'Reilly Books, etc...) that will help you get as deep understanding as you enjoy, without having to waste valuable time sifting through a lot of things.

The learning path is cohesively structured and well guided (Basic Python, Data Analysis, Visualization, Statistics, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, ...) so you can just focus on the topics that matter.

The progress through the course is tracked through projects that you will develop and present individually to 2 reviewers, and this will give you an opportunity to get feedback and advice from both people who already went through it, as well as external full-time data scientists that provide real life experience from and challenging questions that will test your understanding and knowledge.

The only downsides are that the pace might be a little bit too fast (you can study whenever you want, but you must reach specific deadlines for projects), and if you really enjoy depth, you might have to adjust your way of working/learning.... However, these are also factors that will affect your professional life, so this is a good opportunity to practice.

I'm beyond grateful to be enrolled in Turing College's web development course. As a learner I feel a healthy challenge and exposure to the latest tech in the industry. The learning model is self paced with peer and senior industry's specialist guidance. This provides the freedom of learning at your own pace and preferred depth as well as an efficient support system to make sure you are on the right track. Besides that, learning simulates an agile environment, having weekly stand-ups, code reviews, peer programming and live coding exercises. It is incredible that this kind of course is even available . At the time of applying I was only 18 with some previous background in working on different coding projects, but really did not know what to exactly pursue. Going to one of my countries Universities also seemed like a waste and probably for the whole of the first year I would have known everything already aswell. I think Turing College really stands out for me because it is is very flexible with the learning curve depending on how much prior experience you have, so everyone can go in their own pace depending on how good they are at certain chapters. It has been amazing for me to attend Turing College and learn every practical skill in Data Science and complete hands-on projects.

Apart from having incredible and challenging contents with detailed guidelines, the entire learning process consists of having continuous feedback from the seniors and working professionals (the Senior Team Leads) and weekly meetings to help me with my technical or career difficulties, which I think has given me much deeper understanding in the topics than other learning methods and motivation to continue my learning.
