Springboard is an online learning platform that prepares students for the tech industry’s most in-demand careers with comprehensive, mentor-led online programs in software engineering, data science, UI/UX design, cybersecurity, tech sales, and more. All Springboard courses are 100% online, remote, and self-paced throughout an average of 6-9 months. Springboard acts as a support system, coach, and cheerleader for working professionals who are ready to level-up or make a major career shift. Students have access to a unique community of industry mentors, thought leaders, and alumni, who are on hand to offer insights, networking opportunities, and support throughout the program and well past graduation. To apply, applicants fill out an online form, take an aptitude test, then talk with a school representative about their background and motivations. For the data science career track a background in statistics and/or programming is required. For the UX career track, students should have academic or professional background in user design or development-oriented fields.

Springboard
Throughout my time at Springboard, I was able to learn in detail about UX/UI design by creating my own capstone project from beginning to end, having the opportunity to participate in an Industry Design Project, and completing a design sprint. The reason I enrolled for Springboard was to learn more about the user experience end of UX/UI design, where you research the users before handling the user interface. The bootcamp was definitely thorough and well planned out. The externship is a great way to get hands on experience. It took longer to complete than anticipated. Challenging but doable
I found the boot camp to be challenging but very doable. They offer several time extensions for those that feel they need it or if you want to take a break. The projects really pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me develop skills that I need to find a job. I wish the boot camp included more help on the UI, and in learning to use other design tools beside figma or XD. A lot of designers also use illustrator but if you don’t come form a design field you won’t know how to use these...I found the boot camp to be challenging but very doable. Challenging But Fulfilling
