Springboard is an online learning platform that prepares students for the tech industry’s most in-demand careers with comprehensive, mentor-led online programs in software engineering, data science, UI/UX design, cybersecurity, tech sales, and more. All Springboard courses are 100% online, remote, and self-paced throughout an average of 6-9 months. Springboard acts as a support system, coach, and cheerleader for working professionals who are ready to level-up or make a major career shift. Students have access to a unique community of industry mentors, thought leaders, and alumni, who are on hand to offer insights, networking opportunities, and support throughout the program and well past graduation. Pros are that the program has a great support system and a very solid curriculum. Also customer service is great and they provide a strong team of individuals to help prepare you from everything from learning the material to preparing for the job market with a series of mock interviews. resume assistance and all of that.
Cons are some glitches in the INFOsec program but they are minor, and the freedom of being able to work at your own pace can work against you if you allow yours...Pros are that the program has a great support system and a very solid curriculum. Comprehensive Education
I started the program with some background in computer science so not everything I saw was brand new to me, but the program explained the majority of the concepts very well. There were many cybersecurity concepts that were brand new to me that were explained to me in a way that was easy to digest, and would be easily reviewable if necessary. You always have many options for support when you have questions in the form of advisors, a personal mentor, and many of the fellow students through...I started the program with some background in computer science so not everything I saw was brand new to me, but the program explained the majority of the concepts very well. You always have many options for support when you have questions in the form of advisors, a personal mentor, and many of the fellow students through the Slack app. The pacing of material is very do-able and will introduce you to a wide variety of concepts in cybersecurity so you do not need a technology background to begin this program. The concepts taught will help to prepare you to take the Security+ exam but are not enough by themselves. There are many more concepts you'll need to familiarize with so you will need a study guide from Mike Chapple/Professor Messer with some practice tests to check your own progress and understanding.
Overall, I'd recommend this program to someone looking to either break into the cybersecurity field or pivot from their current career to cybersecurity. The career coaches are a big help in preparing you and giving you a lot of suggestions and advice on how to sell yourself to potential employers and improve your portfolio as a whole. - Career Services: One of the standout features of Springboard is its career services. My career coach, in particular, has been incredibly supportive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in my success. Their guidance post-completion has been instrumental in boosting my confidence and helping me navigate the job market.
- Networking Opportunities: Despite being an online course, I have found that my professional network has grown significantly. Interacting with peers and participating in community discussions has been invaluable in building connections within the design industry.
- Understanding and Accommodation: During the course, I faced a family emergency that required me to take a break for about six months. Springboard was very understanding and accommodating, allowing me the necessary time to handle personal matters and then return to complete my studies without any added pressure.
- Mentorship Experience: My experience with mentorship was mixed. While my career coach was outstanding, my other mentor often provided feedback that felt scripted and rushed. There was a lack of genuine engagement and personalized advice, which was disappointing given the importance of mentorship in such a program.
- Support and Engagement: Overall support could be improved. The lack of in-person interaction sometimes made it difficult to fully grasp certain concepts or feel entirely confident in my skills. I believe that in-person classes would have greatly enhanced my learning experience and made me feel more assured in my abilities.
- Industry Design Project (IDP): For the price of the course, I believe that the Industry Design Project should be included for all students, regardless of whether they opt for the job guarantee. Completing the IDP after the coursework would have provided a more comprehensive and practical application of the skills learned, which I feel was a missed opportunity and should not exclude anyone from the job guarantee.
- Job Guarantee Deadline: The deadline for the job guarantee should not be before the coursework end date, especially if an extension is applied. It is unfair to expect students to meet job search deadlines while still completing their coursework.
- Course Pricing: Given that Springboard highlights their unique mentor support as a key feature of the program, I believe the course price should be significantly lower. My mentorship experience was not as noteworthy as advertised, which calls into question the value proposition of the current pricing.

The overall experience of enrolling in the Springboard bootcamp was good but at some point curriculum needs to be updated and the last month was tough! The mentoring system was really helpful and mentors have a strong background in the field so their feedback is really important. the fact that after graduation you still have access to a career coach feels supportive also.

I took the Software Engineer Career track at Springboard. It dives into detail with each topic and walks through each step with you, You also get a 1 on 1 mentor that you get to get on a call with each week if you have any questions or if you need any help. Good bootcamp
The way the program is structured is great and they give you many opportunities to complete projects that can be featured on a portfolio and an opportunity to work with a real client before diving into a new job. The biggest downside is that it’s self paced so at times, when life can get busy, it can be difficult to keep up. I was switching from Graphic Design and Teaching to UX/UI and while I didn’t need another degree, I did need to learn UX/UI from industry professionals and get some portfolio work. I chose Springboard because it had a thorough curriculum, opportunities for networking and real-world projects. They also partner you with a mentor (which you can change if there’s not good chemistry there) you meet weekly during the course. I chose Springboard because it had a thorough curriculum, opportunities for networking and real-world projects. They also partner you with a mentor (which you can change if there’s not good chemistry there) you meet weekly during the course. There’s also chances to do ‘on-demand’ calls with career coaches and other mentors. Their curriculum had a lot of good material overall to help you prepare without the fluff you might find in a traditional degree. If you have a design background, it helps a lot. If you don’t, really make sure you have the time in the beginning to learn. They do provide small exercises with most units to help you apply what you learn, but finding opportunities outside of it to practice will help too. Be on top of your own learning—you’ll see why in the cons list:

- Regular mentorship and career coaching from people all over the world.
some CONS:
- Backend issues with their site at times. More than once my dashboard info (completion date or progress tracking) was not accurate and I had to reach out to fix it. Be on top of knowing what breaks or free extensions you take as well. I started screenshotting everything so if they messed up, I could refer back to those.
- Billing. Had a few times where I was charged twice in one month. Always check to make sure there is no double charging. They got it taken care of right away, but after the second time, I wasn’t leaving anything to chance.
- Not all mentors are the same; my first one was not very engaging in giving feedback so I ended up switching. If you are not clicking with your mentor, don’t be afraid to switch. Springboard’s mentorship program was really what stood out to me when I was looking into bootcamps, and it didn’t let me down. My mentors, Aida and Tatiana, were incredibly supportive and provided me with practical advice that helped me refine my skills and approach to design. Their friendly and empathetic approach made our interactions both enjoyable and productive, and I’m immensely grateful for their guidance.
Springboard’s support staff also played a crucial role in my success. They were exceptionally understanding and accommodating, especially when my twins were born prematurely during my course and had to remain in the NICU for some time. Springboard offered me multiple course extensions, allowing me to focus on my family without worrying about the additional costs of completing my certification. Their empathy and flexibility were invaluable, making a significant impact on my ability to succeed in the program.
As a result of the program and the Industry Design Project, I feel confident that I was able to build a robust portfolio and am hopeful it will help me find my dream job as a product designer. I really can’t recommend the Springboard UI/UX Design Career Track enough to anyone looking to transition into a design role.
