Mate academy

Mate was recommended to me by 2 friends. One completed The frontend course, the other one  java, both without a technical education, got accepted to Mate not from the first try, and it was difficult for them to study, but as a result they were very satisfied and quickly found a job and have been working for more years. I, just like them, at first was trying to study by myself the basics of web development on various free resources, but I understood that there was not enough structured information and I didn’t really understand in which direction to move, also this training was spontaneous, when I had time and desire, so not quite efficient. As a result, I decided to approach this matter seriously and went to Mate for a front-end course. It turned out to be the most intensive training period of my life. For 3 months I studied from 9 am till 9-10-11 pm, sometimes on the weekend. Keep this in mind, it most likely will be difficult to combine training with other activities, since you need to do a lot of practical tasks and keep up with deadlines. It was hard and sometimes I had to overcome myself, but at the same time it was very interesting. The information is presented in a well structured manner and in simple words, it is impossible not to understand. All materials are up to date. The team of mentors is ready to answer any question and explain everything in an accessible way so that everyone can understand, regardless of the background. Finished  the Frontend course.
I read the reviews before applying, they were either perfect, that looked fake to me, or they were bad, but with the following meaning: “they only take people with a background, good English, etc.. They didn’t accept me” ...
And as a person, that neither had good English, nor any background, I almost gave up, as if I didn’t hope at the moment (I read the reviews after I went through the preparation for the course, which was sooo difficult) and as a result, first times they didn’t accept me, I didn’t master the tasks, and I was offered to try again in 10 days, then I passed and got accepted on the course, and immediately all the comments where they say that people with background are accepted didn't make sense to me anymore.
The course is very intense, structured and cool, and they don’t let you forget what you’ve learned before, that is, learning is different from the one in university, when you know it today, and tomorrow you already forgot ...
Knowledge you get is totally enough to get a  good salary job right away, it all depends on you!
And the team prepares you as much as possible for a job search, various "tricks" and secrets...
I found a job on the second day after sending out my CV. Yes, I was lucky, but everyone finds a job!

My IT career started with Mate academy. I tried becoming a developer by myself because all the info you need is already free and on the internet, or so I thought. But there are multiple challenges that come with self-directed learning, such as you do not really know what you need to learn, and sometimes you might feel lazy, just to name a few. Mate academy does an amazing job at making sure you stay as productive as you can, giving you distilled material, yet still touching on in-depth topics. All the homework and tasks were as practical as they can get.
Thanks to Mate academy I found my first IT job just 3.5 months after I started with them, and within 4.5 months everybody (!!!) in our study group was employed. I do not see how anyone who has just started with IT would be able to accomplish that on their own. Am I saying that in 3.5 months they will make you a senior developer? Not at all. Getting your first job in IT is like catching a leprechaun, it takes a lot more than simply "finishing a JS course". In Mate academy, I was working with a whole team: coaches, mentors, and HR specialists who helped me overcome my interview anxiety by simply practicing during mock interviews.

Of course, many will say that you can learn all this on your own and they will be right, but with great mentors and a crazy pace of learning, it will be much faster. Not so long ago I completed a full-stack course at Mate Academy. Now I'm working in my dream job as full-stack developer, which is why I decided to leave a review for those who have doubts.
First of all, in Mate I felt like a part of one big and friendly team, where mentors and coaches ready to support you at any moment, inspire and motivate you to intense learning.
During the training I got an incredibly large amount of knowledge and practice. The training itself is as close as possible to the conditions of working on a real project, from communication to finished projects on Github.
The guys from MA did everything and even more so that I would believe in myself, gain knowledge and be able to use it in practice, which later helped me find a job.
My decision to go to MA is one of the best decisions of my life. This academy changed my life and turned it upside down :) I met very talented and interesting people and get cool job, so if you think about those who want to change your life and are ready to work for it, then MA is an ideal option.

Hey 👋🏼

I'm 33 and I've decided to switch my occupation last year
- from Finance and Operations
- towards web-development.

I've considered not that much, like 5 bootcamps,
yet decided to go for mate.academy due to reviews, statistics and the price
- back then they had an active discount campaign for a self-paced program 🙂

Long story short - by the end of month 4 I got 2 offers (during 3 weeks job search process).
The study process was kind of hard - since I got no previous experience with whatever coding.

I've spent learning 7 to 9 hours on workdays, and 2-3 hours on weekends.
Probably I could spend less if I used the scheduled Q&A sessions (2 or 3 times each week),
but I preferred to solve issues myself or request mentors' support asynchronously on Slack.

Technical checks were of a great importance - they are kind of trial technical interviews held by mentors
- just like on a real interview.
Knowing theory is one thing, but declaring it verbally turned out harder - so a great practice.

Another important part is the employment phase
- I was hesitant to apply thinking I need to learn more
- luckily coordinators told me that I'm already apply-able and pushed me to start applying.
If not that I would likely spend / lose another 2 to 3 weeks.
And I've had a mock interview with Mate HR to pinpoint and fix the 'weak points' ⭐

The process was hard but rewarding 🎉

Even after I was employed I visited Mate to keep on learning SQL, Node.js and writing tests.

Worth mentioning - the platform keeps on improving.
Especially if you see any sort of bug and report it to the team - they are actually fixed.
New features are delivered and make the process even more efficient and user-friendly. Read less

Mate Academy helped me make my dream of becoming a developer come true, and I am incredibly grateful to my teachers for that. I studied in a full-time program. Before that, I tried to learn on my own and read a lot of theoretical materials, but I really lacked practical skills, without which I cannot become a developer (I understood the theory, but could not write code 😢). At Mate Academy, the training program is mainly aimed at developing practical programming skills: you will write a lot of code, which experienced mentors will review. The curriculum is very structured and includes learning all the necessary technologies to become a developer. But be prepared for the fact, that you will have to invest a lot of effort and time in studying. Separately, I would like to note a very useful stage of preparation for employment, which includes preparation for technical interviews and advice on preparing a resume, passing interviews, etc. This stage was very useful for me during my job search.

I had no previous experience in tech-world, only basic algorithmic skills from school and university diploma (non technical). And after 4 months I have already had the offer to great IT product company. entering this school was my best investment into my knowledge. Strongly recommend! Read less

My friends told me about this school in the beginning of last year and at that time I was looking for profession that will be really interesting to me as opposed to specialisation that I've studied in my university. IT was interesting to me but there was a myth about it that it's impossible to work in IT if you don't have a proper diploma and excellent math knowledge. That's why when I heard that my friends found some online school that can teach you and also will help you to find a job I didn't believe that. But when my friend finished this course and found a job I've changed my mind and decided to try it too. Studying was challenging but interesting at that time, that's why I didn't notice that three months of intense learning are passed and I already found my first job in IT =)  Another great thing in Mate academy is an informal atmosphere, because our coach, mentors and coordinator was like friends for students and this helped to build community where everyone is ready to help and motivating each other. Also there was such great things as code review that helped to learn about how to write your code not only working but also clear and readable and preparations for interviews from first week of studying that helped to be more confident during tech interviews.
Now after almost a year after my graduation from this school and working on the job that I really like I can tell you that if you want to start career in IT from scratch - Mate academy is a great opportunity to make it =) Read less

I graduated in 2019. This bootcamp was a great place to get online-based knowledge that allows you to take place in one of the tech companies and boost your career. Most significant pluses of studying here for me:

• a lot of practice
• well structured theory
• mentor to ask questions
• career support

1. Practice makes perfect. I've gained top skills and got well paid job thanks to it.
2. Theory allows you to get a full vision of the technologies and how to use it.
3. Mentors always help with first two points and don't leave you struggling with some tough task/theory moment.
4. Career support will help to climb that career ladder, get higher offers and salary raises.

I bet a lot has changed since my graduation in 2019, but only in a  better way.

I studied at Mate academy from November '21 till early February '22 and I've learned a LOT for this months. If you want to study effectively and get a job as a developer in four months - it is definitely a way to go.
To learn and understand this much of information if I have studied alone would take years, imo. 
It was definitely not easy, I studied for around 8 hours everyday, yet I can't come up with a better solution to become a developer and get your first salary in such a quick way.
And the first module is free for you to study as much as you want, so definitely won't hurt to try.

I studied at Mate Academy for three months full-time and was one of the first students in the group who received a job offer. During my study I really liked the presentation of information, code review, work with mentors, morning tasks, QnA, technical checks, preparation for job interviews.

The pace is crazy, you have to work a lot on yourself, every day learn something new.

It is the best investment of time in my life!

  Previously, I'd just been studying at university as a student in Software Engineering. Then, I joined Mate academy right at the beginning of 2022, (Full-stack Development, full-time course). I was shocked by the organization level – everything is just as it should be: clear plans, your schedule, educational materials, candid feedback on your performance, practical tasks, mock interviews, Q&As, and the concepts of peer reviews. And despite the war in Ukraine, the team was still able to help me land a job, and now – I'm working as a Full-stack Developer.
