Great Learning

I recently completed the applied data science program, which was one of the greatest I've ever done.

The curriculum was up to date, the lecturers were excellent, and the mentors were outstanding. The entire staff worked together to answer all of my queries and to prepare me for real-world activities.  You won't believe the opportunities this has given me in my job.

It is a difficult curriculum to finish, but it is well worth the effort.

I just finished the applied data science program and its one of the best programs I have ever done.

The syllabus was up to date, the teachers amazing and the mentors incredible. the whole team worked to answer all the questions I had and to prepare me for real life tasks.  You wont believe the doors this has opened up for me in my career.

Its a tough program to complete and it will challenge you, but its well worth the effort.

I recently completed a four-month Applied Data Science program that left me thrilled with the experience. It felt like a genuine MIT adventure, and the entire team involved, including the MIT faculty, learning team, mentors, and program manager, played pivotal roles in making it a success.


 


The Applied Data Science program was a collaborative effort between MIT and the Great Learning team, resulting in a comprehensive and high-quality learning experience.


 


 The MIT faculty members were exceptional, showcasing their expertise in data science through comprehensive and engaging teaching methods.


 


The learning team provided invaluable guidance and support throughout the program, creating a rich learning environment for our growth and development. Mariam, the program manager, consistently provided support and ensured the program ran smoothly.


 


The mentors, with their industry experience and practical knowledge, offered valuable insights and real-world applications of the concepts we studied. Their contributions enhanced our learning experience and enriched our understanding of data science.

I finished Applied Data Science and Machine Learning with MIT and Great Learning. The Experience was amazing! The content of the course is excellent! Comprehensive and challenging. The idea is to learn, so they take you step by step with what you need to know and understand. There is a combination of Lecturers from MIT and Great Learning, both outstanding, the lectures are from one of the top schools, and they answer all your questions. There is also a team to support you outside of the lectures, and I never had to wait more than an hour or less for an answer. The Program Manager plays a big part in this as this requires a lot of support, communication and guidance. Spot on!

Nitish and Shikha were monumental in my success in this program as program managers. When I felt overwhelmed with the density and complexity of the coursework, they were quick to reach out and help devise a plan for me to get back on track. Not only is this one of the hardest boot camps I’ve done, but it’s the most hands-on, most supported, had great integration of community, and I’m walking away from this experience with 0 prior knowledge to confidently walking into meetings discussing concepts in class. Covered Concepts

• The course started by covering the required fundamentals such as Basic Python Programming and using Python in Data Science with libraries such as Numpy and Pandas.
• Then we covered Statistical and Probabilistic Data Exploration and Analysis concepts and best practices.
• We gradually started discussing Data Curation and Cleansing strategies as well as Feature Extraction (basic Feature Engineering as well)
• We then started applying the previously covered knowledge in practical Machine Learning Models
• Through the end, we covered heavy AI-oriented courses such as Deep Learning, Neural Networks, and Computer Vision
• The final course was also about Generative AI and ChatGPT breakdown.

Pace

• The amount of work needed will gradually increase, but considerate deadlines and faculty members' support will help guide you through it.
• Almost all the projects and deliverables are designed to accommodate people based on their interests and learning goals. People who rather work closely with code and programming, as well as people who rather focus on business insights and less coding are both considered and welcomed to participate.

I sincerely and honestly am grateful for the time I spent on this program and I cannot recommend it enough.

The Applied Data Science course is 12 weeks of intense learning. Get the conceptual framework from MIT faculty and then learn how to implement the concepts using Python coding projects. I feel like I dove in the deep end and came out swimming like an olympic athlete.  Certainly a great place to begin a career change into the exciting world of data science. The mentors and Great Learning team help give you solve real world problems and business needs. This course is practical, challenging, and very interesting, whatever your preferred field. I want to say the Great learning (MIT IDSS) Data Science and Machine learning (DS & ML) program is a special one of a kind. The seasoned MIT professors who taught the concepts and the mentors who handled the mentoring session did an exception job of explaining how to think, approach and solve real world problems with DS & ML techniques. My program manager, Shweta was really supportive. I must say, it's the best training I have had in the last 10 years and it is worth more than its fee. It was rigorous (like the typical on-campus MIT classes) and require the serious commitment of any professional who is passionate about growing their capacity in this field. I have just completed the AI and Machine Learning No-code/Low-Code Program and had an incredible experience. This program does a great job of giving you foundational knowledge of AI and machine learning. I am now able to deploy my own models despite not knowing how to code or being a "coder". The whole program was extremely valuable, and I have nothing but positive things to say about the curriculum. My only minor issue is I submitted for job assistance and resume help but was never contacted.  Read less

I recently completed a data science bootcamp program and I must say, it was an incredible experience. The course design was well-structured and the practical, hands-on approach to using Python was extremely effective. The techniques that were taught were up-to-date and could be easily applied to real-world business scenarios.The instructors and mentors were patient and always willing to address any questions or concerns that arose during the program. The program manager was also extremely helpful in coordinating schedule changes and assignment submissions to ensure a positive course experience and ultimate success.Overall, I highly recommend this data science bootcamp program to anyone looking to expand their skills and knowledge in this field. I just completed the Applied Data Science course at MIT (operated by Great Learning).  Wow....what a fantastic course.  

The course is very intense, so you should know that you're going to need time to work on the topics... a lot of time.    I easily spent 20-40 hrs per week between the live lectures (3 weekdays, with the MIT professors), the live review sessions (Sat & Sun), and all of the review and assignments.  This course feel like you are taking an MIT-paced course.  It's drinking from the fire hose!

But, I learned so much.  I really understand various machine learning models now.  I understand the theory, the performance metrics, the assumptions, and I can critique the models.  In addition, we covered Python, and we covered EDA (exploratory data analysis) and inferential statistics.  The course really is fantastic.  

Great Learning provided us with data science mentors, and connected us to all the other students (~200) through Slack.  We were able to continually ask questions and work through the problems, the models, the insights.  

I have already been recommending it to my friends and colleagues who are interested in data science or AI.

If you have the desire (and the time!), this course is so great. Read less

This is by far the best learning experience I have had in years. I took my time to research all the faculty and to my greatest amazement they were all professors at MIT and MIT IDSS, with a minimum 7 years as professors in the field of Data Science and relevant fields of Statistics and research. This contributed greatly on the quality of lectures delivered. Their session provided a clear perspective into some of the grey areas I had in Data Science and Machine learning. These professors were remarkable and clearly the epitome of knowledge in these topics. They gave extensive discussions with insights and followup reading materials with emphasis on real-world scenarios and how to apply them, there were also accompanied with a lot of hands on exercises.

In particular, the program manager went above and beyond to keep me motivated and on track, especially when I encountered struggles.

I didn't know Python, hadn't touched Statistics in 20 years, and really didn't understand what Machine Learning was other than a few buzzwords.  16 weeks later, I am comfortable and confident in these areas and can't wait to continue applying these new-found skills to take my career to the next level.  It really helps you stand out from the rest and well worth the investment of time. I had the pleasure undertaking the learning journey of the 12-week Advanced Data Science Program held by Great Learning during Sep 2022 to Jan 2023. We had modules on Data Visualization, Machine Learning, Practical Data Science, Deep learning and Recommendation Systems.

We had in-depth sessions by MIT Professors and the industry experts as Mentors. The course was hectic, as I am working full time. We had to commit 10 to 12 hours of time requirement per week. One needs hard work and perseverance to complete the program.

I was highly motivated by the program managers and my course mates. Everyone was always egging each other on to meet the goals in timely fashion and providing helpful tips, without breaking the course guidelines. The program involved working on multiple small projects (~20) to give us the flavor and usage of different data science techniques.

Overall, I am extremely happy that joined the program and now I am equipped to handle the data scientists in any Data Science project going forward. The program has also motivated me to keep learning the data science related topics.

When I jumped into this program, I was baffled and perplexed about how I would get through so much content in such a short time. However, the instructors, as well as the program managers made this program very informative and fruitful. Theory, as well as real-world applications definitely made this course thrilling and exciting. I had a lot of fun coding and writing comments on the Jupyter Notebook, and I would definitely recommend people, regardless of their age and experience, to go through this program and learn about the fundamentals of a discipline that is currently booming in the world.   Read less
