Coding Temple

I completed the self paced course in late 2023 and I enjoyed my time learning new skills and working with great instructors and tutors. I felt supported and encouraged during the course and there were tutors readily available to help. Once I completed the course this completely changed. I had to reach out multiple times to get transitioned into the alumni slack and once I was in there it took weeks and multiple forms before I could meet with someone to look over my resume and my LinkedIn. Once I got a meeting schedule the person I worked with was a tremendous help but he told me he was leaving CT at the end of the month and I would not have to fill out another form again and someone on the alumni side would reach out. Weeks went by and nothing happened, again multiple forms and sitting around waiting to hear back. The next person to reach out to me then proceeded to tell me I had to change everything I just spent the last month working on with the previous career employee. I became extremely frustrated and felt abandoned during my post graduate experience and job search and decided to abandon a career in software development because of this. The career side seems understaffed and I couldn’t get consistent help over the span of 6 months, while there were some resources available I felt they were not worth the money I paid and it didn’t match the personalized help I was promised I would receive when we went through orientation. If you’re looking for a bootcamp I recommend to find one that doesn’t collect any payment until a job is secured or else you may find yourself in my situation with empty promises.

My experience with Coding Temple and their Software Engineering course was wonderful. I was new to coding prior to taking this course and I was able to easily understand and implement all the concepts covered. After finishing the back end specialization, I feel confident I have the skills required to find a job using everything I learned at Coding Temple. Dylan Katina was very helpful in teaching me how to troubleshoot errors in my code, as well as putting together very easy to understand course materials.

Coding Temple was an incredible experience that gave me a solid foundation in both front-end and back-end development. Learning Flask and backend concepts was eye-opening, and the hands-on projects made everything click. The front-end curriculum was just as strong, covering modern frameworks and best practices. Donovan was absolutely amazing—his patience, clarity, and willingness to help made a huge difference in my learning. Whether it was debugging, explaining complex topics, or offering career advice, he always went above and beyond. I highly recommend Coding Temple to anyone looking to break into tech!

Coding Temple has been a life-changing experience. The program is challenging, but the support system is incredible. With Slack, email, Zoom, and Discord, there was always a way to get help. Screen sharing made it easy to solve complex problems in real-time.The instructors’ availability was truly unmatched. Mr. Peck's patience while teaching backend core concepts made an enormous difference in my learning. Similarly, Ms. Mehner’s dedication to staying after class to dive deeper into frontend concepts ensured I fully understood every detail.My main focus was backend development, and Mr. Katina was instrumental in that journey. His calm demeanor and encouragement replaced my initial anxiety with confidence. He consistently reminded me that I was progressing further than I realized—and he was absolutely right! His ability to break down complex ideas and create a comfortable learning environment was outstanding.The curriculum, hands-on projects, and tech residency simulated a real-world work environment, making the transition from student to professional seamless. I decided to change careers at the ripe age of 47. Attending Coding Temple was by far the best experience I’ve ever had compared to the other professional career schools I’ve attended. I didn't feel that this was a typical, cookie-cutter program. 

I made a ton of friends that I still talk to and collaborate with. The program was flexible with my schedule and I never had to figure things out alone. We all worked as a team, building really cool projects and by the time I graduated, I had a portfolio of cybersecurity projects to show to potential employers. 

At graduation, I felt job ready. I also earned my CompTIA Security+ Certification. I think this 'cert' made me stand out, along with the 9 other certificates I received because as soon as I posted it on my LinkedIn profile and started applying for jobs, I started getting interviews... which brings me to the next point and maybe the most important point. 

I graduated in one of the worst 'tech job applicant markets the world had ever seen' lol ... However, CT had reverse recruiters helping me with everything job related. As everyone else on LinkedIn was complaining that they were not getting noticed by employers, I was. I didn't say too much in public because I knew that a lot of folks were really struggling out there in the job market and tooting my own horn would have caused negative emotions. 

Then it came down to 3 employers that offered me a job. One of them was toxic. One paid $$$ but would have required much more time than I wanted to give... but the one I really wanted checked off 3 of the 4 boxes on my vision board and that's the one I chose. So not only did I get hired but I got to choose the company I wanted to work for and here's the kicker!... They initially reached out to me first! I shit you not!

The total time from day 1 of the starting the program and not even knowing what an IP address was until I was hired was exactly 7 months. I didn't start paying for the program until I was hired. 

Long story short, this was a wonderful and fun experience, and I recommend that anyone who wants to change their life, go for it! I don't want to leave a review without also leaving the full story. They were expensive and I didn't have the money at the time. I looked at all of the other programs and saw that a few of them were cheaper. Then I started digging  and found out why. My dad gave me a lot of advice in life and one of them is, "In life, you get what you pay for." 

When I first began researching coding bootcamps, I was a little unsure about which one to choose as there are so many of them out there. I ultimately chose Coding Temple because of positive student reviews, career services, and the tech residency program. It was a rigorous, but incredibly rewarding course that has brought me so far ahead from when I first started learning about coding. The classes are well taught, and the instructors truly go out of their way to help the students both by meeting 1 on 1 as well as hosting workshops to teach interview practice tips. Many of the instructors have made a positive impact on me including, but not limited to, Travis, Sarah, Grayson, Daniel, and Yessica. The tech residency program, while intense, it was an incredible experience that taught me about how to build an app with a team and meet deadlines. What I learned during the tech residency could not have been learned without participating in the program. Enrolling in the software engineering bootcamp at Coding Temple was one of the best decisions I ever made! I would recommend them to anyone who is looking to enroll in a coding bootcamp. You will not regret it!

The first time I called them I thought they were a scam LOL but then they started to explain what they were all about and everything began to sink in. I hope everyone who reads this that are thinking about going this career route has an opportunity to talk to them and check out what an amazing school they are. They will help you throughout the whole program, is not a moment that are going to feel alone. This is a life-changing decision and they would make it fun and dynamic to learn it and be part of the experience. BTW I hate writing reviews but they deserve every word and this would change everyone's lives. 

I just graduated from a part-time software engineering class, Thieves 139, and it was one of the most enriching educational experiences I’ve had. The class, led by Dylan and Christian, was outstanding. Their teaching style was exceptional—clear, engaging, and particularly effective in making complex topics easily understandable. Dylan and Christian's approach was not only interactive but also incredibly supportive, encouraging continuous learning and fostering cohort unity. The class was both informative and fun, making it a standout experience. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to enhance their software engineering skills under the guidance of inspiring instructors.

I will wholeheartedly recommend this bootcamp to anyone reading this review. I had a hobbyist background in coding knowledge, and the amount I learned in 12 weeks was quite frankly astounding. My instructors Christian and Dylan were an integral part in making my experience so exceptional. They were both incredibly knowledgeable, excellent at communicating concepts and laying out the logic behind what we were doing, and didn't hesitate if you needed additional help grasping a concept or were stuck on a tricky issue. They're also just both friendly and personable people who made class enjoyable.

A word of advice if you do take this class. Take the amount of time you think you'll need to invest and double it. You get as much out of this program as you put into it, and the time investment required to do well in the class is substantial. The curriculum is fairly fast-paced, and if you don't fully grasp a concept you may find it difficult to understand future concepts. Thankfully, like I mentioned Christian and Dylan did a wonderful job of both explaining initially, and assisting if you don't understand something.

If you're like me and you've tried to do self-paced classes a few times and burned out, then this is the course for you. They will push you to further your knowledge, and I am very grateful I decided to take the plunge and take this bootcamp.

Taking this class was one of the best investments and career decisions I've ever made. I realize first hand that making such an investment can be a scary and nerve racking decision to make but trust me when I say that it will be well worth it in the end! Their curriculum is honestly designed to give you a deep understanding of all the technologies and languages that you'll be using for your career going forward. I am also beyond thankful to have had Ryan Rhoades and Alex Swiggum as my instructors. Their patience, knowledge, dedication, and overall desire to want to see you learn and succeed can not be overstated. Alex and Ryan's teaching style made some of the most challenging and difficult concepts really fun and exciting to learn! The time I got to spend learning with them and my fellow classmates is an experience that I will never forget. I know that much of the future success that I will have as a software engineer will be attributed to the time and work that they put into me to make sure that I have a solid understanding of all the material being taught. Alex and Ryan's mentorship and guidance along with Coding Temple's program overall has provided me with an unforgettable start to my software engineering journey and has also truly increased my love for coding! I highly recommend this course to anyone looking to become a Software Engineer!!!

I wanted to change my life for the better with a change in my career, so I did all sorts of research on different software engineering bootcamps.  I decided to take a leap of faith with Coding Temple and I am so happy I did.  If I had to compare it to something, I would say its like an unforgettable, first love.  Just like a first love, you dont really know what you are doing, but you are learning along the way.  It is fun and exciting and can also be challenging and difficult at times, but my instructors were there to help guide me along the way.  Alex and Ryan are my instructors and they both have been even more than I could have ever hoped for in instructors.  They both are super knowledgeable, super nice, super patient, super funny, and super awesome!  They both make the curriculum easier to understand and interesting.  I really like how the teaching style is and how there are notes that I could fall back to.  I do wish there were some more complex examples or extra advance information in case I ever need to look back on my notes after I graduate, but other than that, I am satisfied with it.  This whole Coding Temple experience and my time with Alex and Ryan are something I will never forget and will take with me into my software engineering career.  Thank you so, so much for making this an amazing experience and hopefully one of the best decisions I made in my life!  

After searching for nearly a year I came across Coding Temple at the perfect timing. I was ready to enroll in a coding boot camp and luckily I found Coding Temple. The initial process to sign up for the full time boot camp was super easy. They have delivered and exceeded my expectations in every way! In a short 2 months I already know how to build websites from scratch. My teachers Alex and Ryan are the BEST! The criteria and class curriculum in spot in for becoming a successful software engineer. I feel more and more confident everyday and I continue to impress myself, having no previous coding experience. I only have good things to say about Coding Temple; thank you guys!!

Hello, I graduated from the part-time Full Stack Software Engineering cohort about two weeks ago. I worked a full time remote job while in the program. This course is fast pace, we learned about a topic a week. We had homework every night and most weekends. The weekend projects could be group projects or individual projects. Do not feel discouraged if you & your group cannot get together and complete the project, we changed groups each time, just learn and get your work done.  Learning the backend is very  important, but make sure your frontend is always presentable. Try to challenge yourself and go above & beyond. I would suggest you spend at least a month learning the pre work and looking over the topics and concepts. It will help you get into the program and not feel like you’re out of your league. The program is very time-consuming so make sure you can commit to it. I would start my homework after each class ended, and have my tutoring booked for the next  morning if I needed help. Do not procrastinate, turn in each assignment on time. If you do not like  your grade go back and correct the homework each week. Ask questions , answer questions, stay engaged! Make coding apart of your daily life & everything else revolves around it for a few months, the time will fly. I came into the program with no coding experience and I did very well. 
Remember that other people have completed the course so it can be done , just keep going.

My instructors Christian and Dylan were very knowledgeable, prepared and eager to help. They have a genuine interest in seeing you succeed. They were very engaged, present, and transparent. I never felt like they were phoning it in! Their energy created an environment that kept us motivated, connected, and at our best. I am grateful to have been in their cohort. I am excited about finding my first job in technology and I feel that Coding Temple has prepared me for that opportunity and has opened those doors.

My instructors Christian and Dylan were great and knowledgeable on the topics, there are plenty of opportunities to get 1 on 1 help from your instructors and others. Overall, I was apprehensive about doing a BootCamp with so many opinions about them, but I am grateful I leaped from choosing Coding Temple and taking this course.
