I've always been interested in data but had minimal experience.  This course really through me in the deep end with plenty to learn and see what I enjoyed most about data science.  The course didn't just teach coding though.  We had to complete mini projects and a capstone project throughout the course which involved presenting a business case using the skills that we were learning throughout the course.  This was useful experience beyond just data science.
The course was up to date and the instructors were very knowledgeable.  It was also easy to get support when I needed it.  The job outcomes program afterwards also provided me with as much support as I needed for my job hunt.
Overall, this course has helped me find a new job in a difficult economic climate and set me up well for the future.  I would highly recommend it for anyone wanting to grow their skills in data science. Read less

I recently completed a data science and AI bootcamp, and it was a truly rewarding experience, especially since I didn’t have much background in the field beyond some math and statistical concepts (and if you don't have these, you can still take the course). The program was intensive, covering a wide range of topics that provided a solid foundation in data science and machine learning, all while emphasizing practical applications and hands-on learning.

The curriculum struck a great balance between theory and practice. Throughout the bootcamp, I developed skills in Python, SQL, and essential machine learning libraries like pandas and scikit-learn. One of the most valuable aspects was the opportunity to work on real-world projects, including time series forecasting, classification tasks, and diabetes prediction. These projects allowed me to apply what I learned—from data preparation to model evaluation—and significantly deepened my understanding.

There are not many opportunities to balance a full time job with gaining skills to forge a brand new career in a highly technical field. The part-time remote course was a good balance of structure, access to expert guidance, and convenience without cutting corners. 

Training staff and their experience in industry were an invaluable resource for the class to highlight what would be relevant in our careers and context of what we were learning. It also made the content much more interesting.

3 instructors in a small class gave me options if I didn't gel with an initial overview, and surveys meant I could provide feedback on the class and I could tell they took this onboard graciously and made adjustments. 

Learning in the course can be highly tailored to your previous experience and future goals - our cohort had current IT/data professionals, sales, healthcare, and even primary industry. All walked out with impressive marketable data skills that are in-demand. Assesments through practical projects really showcase this, and meant I felt really secure and overall inspired with the new skills I had gained. I was able to start working on outside web-scraping and consulting projects while still in the course.

I am usually skeptical of 'career coaching' but the support here is no nonsense, practical, and informed by genuine market conditions. Awesomely  kind people too.

I must appreciate Great Learning for the great coordination and fantastic interactive learning interface and support provided throughout the program. The team members are of awesome personalities, and this made my studies worthwhile during this period. I had learnt a lot through the very insightful practical sessions, and I can boldly say that I can now be called a Data Scientist. The learning process isn't as easy as one would think, though the tutors have simplified it in such a way that it is easily understood but believe it's worth the while at the end and you'd be glad you took it up. I came into the course with no background knowledge of Cyber Security. Came away at the end of the course in the top of the students with a robust confidence in my new found skills and knowledge in all things cyber security. was an awesome environment to nurture my learning, growth, and confidence. with the help of my trainers i was able to come away with alot more than id expected, and having the added support of the job support team was a cool bonus. only disappointment was that even with the cost, we dont receive a physical certificate upon graduation. overall though the course was well worth it and thoroughly enjoyed it.  Read less

I recently completed the Data Science & AI course at the Institute of Data, and it was a really valuable experience. I recently completed this 6 month course - it's a big investment, financially and in terms of time and effort, but I do think you can get a lot out of it. This course is aimed mainly at individuals completely new to data science (which I was), and I found the content somewhat challenging - it's a lot of information to digest in a short time, but I would say it's a good place to get started if you're wanting to move towards a career in data science. My trainers were all approachable and eager to help us during workshops and outside of class, and I think that the projects are a great way to get a portfolio started. 

I do think that the value you get from this course is proportional to your input and engagement - you could coast through and not learn much if you chose to, but if you're motivated enough, you can learn a lot and maybe make some really useful connections.  Read less

I would say the course materials were excellent. They were designed for simple progress in hands-on practice. I am already in Software Industry and my goal was to get familiar with new technologies and feel easy with web development in React and get comfortable with frontend as well as backend.

I would say I have achieved my goal 200%. I am in almost finishing my own website for selling my art products. Thanks to IOD + AUT for giving us this course and also providing industry expert instructors. Thanks a lot :)

The IOD Bootcamp is a steep learning curve for learning Python in a short period of time. The skills gained will make you job ready in as little as 3 months. The course is taught by professionals, who will help you with getting through your assignments. I decided to take on the SE course with hopes of changing careers. It was focused around web development technologies and gave me a solid foundation . The beauty of software is that so many skills are transferrable. Learning the basic Web Dev coding languages are great to start with and made it easier when I started trying out other coding languages. Doing it part-time remotely gave me so much flexibility and made it all possible since I am based in the waikato. The lecturers are extremely helpful and have a wealth of knowledge. Keep in mind that this is a short course with a lot of content so it is fast paced and you need to keep on top of it. Bearing in mind , this is completely achievable coming from someone who has a full time 50hr per week job as well as a young daughter. The course has given me the skills needed to starting the job hunt and I am gaining traction now. Read less
