1 Course

Actualize is an online software engineering bootcamp focused on both full stack web development and AI engineering, the skills for building software on top of large language models. Instructors with professional educational experience teach students relevant technologies, including Python, FastAPI, Ruby, Rails, JavaScript, ReactJS, LLM APIs (from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Hugging Face), and LlamaIndex. Students learn core AI engineering techniques such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), evaluation frameworks (evals), AI agents, and LLM observability tools.

The Online Live classes are conducted in real time with video conferencing. Actualize integrates a “Job Hacking” curriculum focused on personal branding and networking — skills they view as equally essential as technical training.

To apply, students can submit an application via the website and then interview with an admissions advisor. There are no coding challenges, but students must complete 5 weeks of prework before the live training starts.

After the program, students can continue to work with the career advisors to help with the job search process.

    Actualize

I was standing to code on my own a lot, but it didn't really work for me. At some point, I decided to join a coding Bootcamp. I had a full-time job so my only option was a part-time school. At the time (and probably still is) Actualize was the only school that allowed you to study after 5pm.

Long story short. I liked it. Our teach was super experienced and explained complicated stuff very clear. Always willing to help before or after the class.

    Highly recommend it to anyo...

    Excellent Program

Coming to Actualize with very little experience program, I never expected to learn so much in such a short amount of time. I highly recommend Actualize to anyone interested in learning to code.

    Best Decision I made

I started this bootcamp knowing nothing about coding and very reluctant to go into it. I was a fraid that I wont be able to learn as fast as the others, but our instructor Peter pulled me right through it. He was always there to help me out even if it was even because i missed a div and would always explain everything to me in full detail.
After 12 weeks i am very confident with my skills as a programer.

Actualize - Improve your tech skills

I have been working in accounting and finance for 6 years and always wanted to learn how to code. I reviewed all of the many options online for both part and full-time courses, and came down to 2, one full time, and Actualize, which is part time. The fact that this program is part time, and as immersive as it is, is crazy. The amount of skills and concepts I learned within the first month alone were worth the price of admission, but the entire course has given me a very measurable value th...

Actualize made me learn how to learn

When I first came to Actualize I was taught thats its not about what you know but how you learn and retain information. Through Actualizes program, I got to meet great people, learn how to program, and have work to add to my portfolio. The program really made me hone in my focus on what was important and realize that coding languages become outdated really quickly so why spend the time worrying about what you know or dont know.

    Great!

My experience at Actualize was overall fantastic. The staff is super friendly. The instructors and TAs are super knowledgable and incrdibly helpful. I will say it is hard to manage with a full time job - so if you are going into this bootcamp with a fulltime job be ready for a challenge and to really be ready to put in work and be exhuasted. On the otherside, i can say I do not regret my decision and even with a full time job, i learned a ton and do not regret it.

    Really good experience

I looked at a few different bootcamps before choosing Actualize. Ultimately, I chose it because it allowed me to keep my current job while doing this class. Even though it was a lot of work to keep my job and go to bootcamp, I was still able to learn a ton and it was very rewarding.

    I did it !

I am proof that this school is awesome. I came in with close to no previous coding experience, and I built a full stack web application from scratch that I am extremely proud of. This course is tough, and fast and it will kick you in the pants, but it works. The teachers, teaching assistants and the CEO of Actualize have heart. They care about their students, and are invested in their success. In addition to a curated curriculum, this is what sets them apart. Thank you!

    Actualize is Actually Amazing

My teacher was Josh Nixon, who besides from being a funny guy, and all around amazing person, also knows everything that there is to know about code. There was never a time that I would ask questions, and not be able to get an accurate, detailed answer from him. The flow of the course is a bit fast-paced, but with the help of the amazing T.A.'s and Josh, I was able to overcome any difficulty that I had when attending this course.

    The perfect part-time bootcamp

Being able to learn at Actualize while also having a day job and/or a life outside of class is an incredible boon. You can learn in a great environment with excellent instructors while not feeling like you can't escape it. After the 12 week course I feel like I've found my calling and I can't wait to continue to learn in the apprenticeship program.

    It’s Okay, But Pricey

Actualize boasts that it’s a part-time bootcamp with an apprenticeship. It is part time, but compared to other part-time bootcamps, the curriculum is light. It’s hard work, if you’re working full time. A lot of students quit their jobs, or are working part-time. There aren’t any tests, and no one gets kicked out, which is nice. The apprenticeship is misleading. It’s also part-time, and isn’t very well run. Some of the projects are iffy and are never actually used, the team leads only have ...

    Awesome Experience

After researching and speaking with a few different bootcamps I decided to enroll at Actualize because of the way they were set up and because of what they offer. The classes were conducted online via zoom chat, which to be honest, was a bit disappointing to me when I first found out. However, even after the first class I realized that I would not be missing out on anything that I might have gained from an in-person-type class.

I found the structure of the classes very helpful.. ...

    Excellent Preparation for Any Job

When I decided to sign up for Actualize I had two primary concerns:

    1. Will the skills I learn be outdated in a year?

    2. Will I actually learn what it takes to start a new career in a more technical field?

Actualize was able to qualm these fears by doing one thing that I believe is the greatest part about Actualize: teaching you how to think like a developer. Now I am a fairly skeptical person so if someone told this to me ...

    Very Challenging but Highly Rewarding!

After deciding I wanted to learn to code and reviewing the options of coding bootcamps in Chicago, I am so happy that Actualize Coding Bootcamp had everything to offer that would fit my life.  I loved the availability of a part-time bootcamp held during evening hours.  I don't know of any other bootcamp that has this schedule. "Actualize is awesome! "

I really enjoyed my time at Actualize bootcamp! It was perfect because the classes were at nights on weekdays and all day Sunday. In this bootcamp compared to others, there was deep instruction before learning a new topic, and then we could work on the exercises. All of the teachers are fantastic, especially the professor I had named Peter Jang. He was always there for us and was so knowledgable, he could de bug our code in a matter of seconds if we got stuck while also explaining ho...

From 0 to hero! I knew nothing about coding going into this place and I was definitely nervous. I can guarantee you that you will succeed and achieve more than you ever thought you could have if you put in the time and effort to make it happen. There is a lot of information to be learned and with their friendly and easy going environment, you can learn all of it and more if you do your part. Highly Recommend!!

    Excellent Experience

Great Instructors, well-rounded currculum, and solid job assistance. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Actualize. With any bootcamp the more you effort you put in, the more you'll get out of it. That being said, the instructors at Actualize are very helpful and supportive and have a wealth of resouces to share. It took me several months after graduation to land my first coding job but I ultimately ended up getting a job that their in-house recruiter sent my way.
