1 Course

Actualize is an online software engineering bootcamp focused on both full stack web development and AI engineering, the skills for building software on top of large language models. Instructors with professional educational experience teach students relevant technologies, including Python, FastAPI, Ruby, Rails, JavaScript, ReactJS, LLM APIs (from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Hugging Face), and LlamaIndex. Students learn core AI engineering techniques such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), evaluation frameworks (evals), AI agents, and LLM observability tools.

The Online Live classes are conducted in real time with video conferencing. Actualize integrates a “Job Hacking” curriculum focused on personal branding and networking — skills they view as equally essential as technical training.

To apply, students can submit an application via the website and then interview with an admissions advisor. There are no coding challenges, but students must complete 5 weeks of prework before the live training starts.

After the program, students can continue to work with the career advisors to help with the job search process.

    Actualize Coding Bootcamp

I had a wonderful time taking this course. I was able to learn so much more then I ever thought I would. Actualize has done a great job at setting up this curriculum. I took the online class, and it felt just like an in person class. I was able to ask as many questions as I needed to, and always got tremendous assistance when I got stuck. Brian Rice was my instructor and did a fantastic job teaching this cohort. Thank you Actualize for the amazing course. I am so grateful for the experienc...

I was looking for a challenge and found it. Actualize provided me with a strong foundation to build on.

At every step along the way I was surrounded by supportive peer group. We learned with each other, as well as from each other.

My instructor Josh was knowledgeable - both in the material he shared, as well as effective teaching strategies he utilized. He took a mindful approach to delivering an overwhelming (at times) amount of information in an accessible way. From...

    Solid Fundamentals

Bootcamps obviously can't teach everything, but they can teach a few things very thoroughly and expose you to fundamentals that are applicable to any framework and language around. Here, those things are Ruby and Rails. They cover many other things, JS and Vuejs, CSS and the DOM, but it's mostly Ruby and Rails where the important concepts of algorithmic thinking and programming are introduced and drilled into. All that said, the instructors, TAs, and staff are really the lion's share of t...

    The Best Around

I have many associates that are coders.  So I  had a fair amount of resources to ask aobut which bootcamp to attend.  Even when I was in the self study phase of my path, Actualize was always among the top choices.  Now, many of the other "top choices" are no longer around.  Actualize continue to crank out good graduates, and I believe that reputation will help when going to the market place to seek a position.

The experience was great.  My instructor constantly bafled me with ...

I decided to join Actualize because I wanted a career change and I am happy I decided to do so. I was working part-time while enrolled in this bootcamp so I was able to manage working while learning. At the end of the day you get what you put into it. If your willing to commit yourself to learning for a couple of months and challenge yourself it's worth it! And boy is it a challenge! Commit, work hard, and ask questions!

I was a little reluctant to join a coding boot camp, I knew it would be a huge commitment. I can say that I am so happy with my decision to join Actualize. I learned so much from beginning to end, that I would not have been able to learn on my own. The support and help you receive is incredible. The instructors go above and beyond to help. This experience was really worth all the time and effort I put into the program. I encourage anyone to join Actualize.

Actualize | Anyone Can Learn To Code

I begin looking at bootcamps due to a need and drive for a career change. When I started looking at bootcamps, I was stuck between Actualize and another bootcamp that specifically offered a guaranteed job.
Actualize was recommended to me by a friend in the industry who has helped out with the program directly, and personally vouched for their success, not only their education but their graduate hire rate. He told me that while Actualize does not guarentee a job, I would have no issue...

Actualize was a great experience and the capstone project at the end of the cohort is one of the most enjoyable things i've ever done on a computer. The instructors are extremely caring for their students and their main goal is to teach you properly. A wonderful academic journey that I would highly recommend to those who are interested in web development!

    Worth Moving to Chicago For!

I came to Actualize in Chicago as a recent college graduate from California. I had received my BA in psychology, but had since decided that I wanted to pursue a different career track, and I thought I'd try my hand at coding. I had originally planned to move to Chicago to attend Fullstack Academy, as per a suggestion I had received, but upon being accepted into and starting the beginning of their program, I didn't feel like the teaching style was right for me. In looking for other bootcamp...

    Actualize Online

I chose Actualize because I wanted to attend a bootcamp that worked around my family's schedule.  I liked that Actualize was offered online but in a way that is like a regular classroom.  I could ask questions and get help as I was working.

I learned so much.  It's amazing how much is covered in just a few months.

I would recommend Actualize to anyone wanting to learn to code and needs to do it a way that is flexible but still wants the benefits of in-person course.

    Excellent Learning Environment

I came into the online live boot camp with little experience in coding. The set up of the screen sharing from the instructor for demoing concepts followed by working on examples to practice the new concepts really helped me learn the material and retain the information.

I am extremely happy with my choice to make a career change and enroll in Actualize. The instructor and teaching assistant were very helpful promoted positive learning experiences. They tought not only the hard skil...

    Actualize Online

This course did an incredible job of creating something from nothing in my skill base. It's set up in a way where you can learn things really sequentially but are able to build out your knowledge at your own pace to some extent as well. The balance between structure and freedom was good. I also got to create a more extensive portfolio than I expected, which is helpful for job searching.

    Highly Recommend!

I'm very happy that I decided to pursue the Actualize program!

I had looked into, and was accepted into, three different programs: Actualize, Northwestern and Fullstack Academy. Not only did Actualize have the best ratings (rightfully so), they also fit my budget and my schedule.

Peter was a great instructor, combining his history of teaching and love of code to make lessons engaging, funny and informative. The program is challenging, but if you dedicate time and effort in...

best risky decisions I have ever made in my life

I think this course past my expectations in a course. With it only being from 6-9pm during the week and 9-5 on sunday, I didnt expect so much information to be dished at me and also for me to comprehend everything passed. The teacher was very knowledgable on any question that was asked and knew many tools for you to learn and do more work outside of class. I would recommend this course to anyone who is really interested in learning code.

    Great Experience

Actualize was overall a great experience. The instructors and TA's very friendly and personable, and explained things in a clear and enaging way. It was difficult doing it while also working full-time, but also rewarding in the end. In the end I feel confident in writing Ruby, Javascript, HTML, CSS, building a Ruby on Rails application, using Vue.js, and understand a variety of other important concepts in the industry. They also just hired a career counselor for us so I'm excited to begin ...

Good instructor but they're flying by the seat of their pants

    I chose Actualize because:

    • They emphasized the fact that the instructors are actual teachers
    • I was intrigued by the post-bootcamp apprenticeship with nonprofits
    • It was the cheapest, part-time & online

    ---

I was nervous about the logistics of doing the class online (audio/video quality, screensharing, etc) but that worked perfectly for me the whole time. In fact, the abili...

    Truly great experience!

A friend of mine turned me onto Actualize after his brother-in-law Scott attended the program. I talked to Scott who gave me some positive feedback and informed me he had found some contract work and then a salaried job shortly after the program making around $80k/yr, which was more than he's ever made before. That was definitely enticing but I was more concerned with whether I would enjoy coding since I was looking to make a career change into a field I would find fulfilling, ...

Actualize was an Awesome Choice !

I really gained tremendously from Actualzie bootcamp and learnt so much so quick. I took the online bootcamp and it really felt like a real live class with 100% interaction. Brain Rice is great and professional instructor.

Actualize bootcamp style is instruction - excersize - instruction - excersize etc. This style really gets students invovled, executing and internalizing the information fluidly. Also every class is video recorded giving students full access to any information ne...
