UI / UX Design Career Track

My experience at Springboard's UI/UX bootcamp was a whirlwind adventure that spanned a year. The curriculum packed in a ton of useful information, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to access it even after completing the program. However, navigating through mentorship was a bit of a challenge. I initially struggled with a mentor who wasn't the best fit but was able to switch to a much more supportive one after speaking up to my career advisor. One downside was the absence of AI for UX, which I was hoping to learn about, and the reliance on third-party resources like Medium for curriculum content felt a bit underwhelming. Nevertheless, the highlight of the bootcamp was undoubtedly the industry project, where I got to collaborate with a real company, gaining invaluable hands-on experience. Despite its flaws, Springboard provided me with a solid foundation to kickstart my career in UI/UX design.

Pros:

Structured Curriculum: Clear and organized learning path covering essential UX/UI design topics.

Mentorship: Personalized guidance from industry professionals enhances skill development.

Portfolio Focus: Emphasis on practical projects helps build a strong design portfolio.

Cons:

Cost: Higher tuition fees compared to some other online platforms.

Time Commitment: Requires a significant time investment, spanning 6 to 9 months.

Limited Flexibility: A predetermined curriculum may not fully align with individual learning preferences.

Pros: Getting to work with a real company and adding it to your portfolio; Mentor support weekly and on demand mentor call if you need it ahead from your own shceduled call. Con: Certain advisors are not familiar with alot of the programs and they take a while to respond back. 

The Pros: - great mentorship with experienced professionals who really know the industry- industry design project (IDP) working for an actual company doing UX research and design - online interface is easy to use and track your progress- staff at Springboard are attentive - career coaches are awesome, I'm just starting to meet with one as a recent graduate and am loving itThe Cons: - most resources on the curriculum are free articles, links, and videos from other websites- besides the IDP, all projects are fictitious - working on the curriculum can be isolating as only the IDP is collaborative with other students- I've heard the job guarantee can be voided by Springboard at any time at their discretion Note: this review comes as a recent graduate who is just starting career coaching. I've yet to find a job.  

I chose to go with Springboard after some research and all of the good reviews.  I am very happy that I chose Springboard.  UX Design is a hard field right now to get into and I didn't know that at the time that I signed up.  However, I feel that Springboard has given and will continue to give me all the help they can for me to get a job.  I just got my certificate and am starting the job search but I have been impressed with the amount of resources and hints that have been given to me already and I haven't even met with my job search coach yet.  The job guarantee is everything right now in this field and you can beat that either.  The course was good, though mostly reading various articles  and watching videos and then trying to do stuff myself.  I also picked Springboard because of their externship at the end of the course, which was a great experience for me, and I think will help set me apart from other junior candidates.  

pros:1) Self-paced program2) Community support3) Weekly mentor calls (I had the best experience with my mentor)4) IDP (a real project you can work on that would be great on your resume and portfolio and can be counted as real experience)5) in the end you have 4 projects (3 personal projects + IDP) and a portfolio to go forwardCons:1) curriculum is dependent on the website, sometimes the website was down and curriculum units and contents were not accessible2) Springboard was not consistent with policies, like changes to program pauses and freezing. While I understand the business reasons behind these adjustments, they're vital factors in one's decision to invest in the program. Consistency in these policies would be greatly valued.3) I would have liked it more if the curriculum had more exclusive content generated by the springboard itself instead of directing us to different links and articles.

The UI/UX course was extremely engaging and properly difficult without making me want to give up. It was fun to learn all the new skills and new ways to apply general knowledge I had before this course. My mentor was very knowledgeable and not afraid to give me critiques when I needed it, which I always appreciated.

Embarking on my journey as a budding UX/UI designer, I enrolled in the Springboard UX/UI course, eager to augment my skill set and knowledge within the realm of design. Throughout the duration of the program, I found myself immersed in a meticulously structured curriculum that adeptly balanced theoretical underpinnings with practical application.
A standout feature of the Springboard course is its unwavering focus on real-world projects. By engaging in a series of meticulously crafted assignments and design challenges, I was able to seamlessly translate theoretical concepts into tangible solutions, thereby garnering invaluable hands-on experience. The constructive feedback provided by mentors and fellow peers proved instrumental in refining my design acumen and fortifying my problem-solving approach.
The course content itself is extensive, encompassing a diverse array of topics ranging from user research to prototyping, interaction design, and usability testing. Each module is thoughtfully designed to build upon preceding ones, fostering a coherent and progressive learning trajectory. Moreover, the integration of industry-relevant tools and software further bolsters the practicality of the course, equipping participants with the requisite skills to thrive in a professional milieu.
A defining aspect of Springboard lies in its robust mentorship program. Access to a dedicated mentor proved invaluable, offering personalized guidance, support, and insightful feedback. Their wealth of experience not only enriched my learning journey but also provided invaluable industry insights and perspectives.
In summary, I wholeheartedly endorse the Springboard UX/UI course to individuals aspiring to carve a niche in the design realm. With its comprehensive curriculum, hands-on projects, and personalized mentorship, it furnishes a solid foundation for budding designers to navigate and excel in the dynamic landscape of UX/UI design.

Springboard does everything it sets out to do, which is giving the basics and projects to their students.The good:1 on 1 Mentorship: Absolutely the #1 reason onto why Springboard is worth it. Weekly calls with an industry professional that will give you insights and encouragement.Straight forward information: The curriculum is sectioned out in an easy to understand way. Also nice for students who like to follow an agenda/schedule.Career Coaches: They have pretty useful information regarding job searching and networking.The not-so-good:Outdated articles: Some articles linked to the curriculum feel slightly outdated, both in terms of looks and information.Lack of engagement: The curriculum does not really test you or engrain the information into you after you learn it. You essentially read and continue.

Springboard has a very straightforward, easy-to-learn curriculum that teaches you many technical skills and allows you to apply them to various exercises and projects, including the Industry Design Project. I believe being given the opportunity to work with a real-world company really helped me not only put my technical skills to the test, but my soft skills as well. Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience at Springboard because of the many resources they provide you with, such as the student dashboard that helps  keep track of your progress as well as having access to a mentor and career coach that is there to provide you with support on your learning journey. 

Springboard provides a lot of insight and guides on how to successfully learn UI/UX Design. You have the opportunity to get a lot of practice by going through 3 different case studies and they help you with setting up your portfolio. However, I feel like Springboard provided a lot of online articles as their study material instead of inside sources. For the money I am paying for this course, I wish I could've gotten more material directly from Springboard and not online materials you can easily find. 

I greatly enjoyed my experience at Springboard. I felt supported and was given all the assistance I needed to complete the course on the timeline that fit with my life. I loved the guidance and the mentorship. I have developed a strong bond with the mentor, and was given the opportunity to find the right mentor for me. I also enjoyed the career aspect of the program, and it has been very helpful thus far. The course work has prepared me for the job I am seeking, and I am confident in my newly acquired and honed on skills. I would recommend to anyone. 

I recently finished my UI/UX career track program with Springboard Bootcamp. My 1-year journey was exemplary. I transitioned from Microbiology to UX design. The program offers a comprehensive well-structured curriculum, mentor guidance, career coach services, and a community to connect with fellow students. The course is self-paced and because of this, I was able to study along with taking care of my kids. This journey not only enhanced my design skills but also solidified my understanding of user behavior and needs. Overall, it was a great experience. Highly recommend this course.

After considering a career change for some time, I took the jump and invested in Springboard's UI/UX Design Career track. I chose to enroll in a bootcamp because I kept trying to teach myself principles of UX/UI, but with my intense work hours, it often fell to the wayside. I am grateful for my education through Springboard because the structure and accountability ensured that I was able to completed all of the projects, including the course itself. I was paired with a mentor who was encouraging and offered amazing constructive criticism that bettered my projects, and I was always appreciative of the insight so I could keep that in mind for future design projects. My IDP was also an amazing experience where I got to work as part of a team, with a real company. I am so grateful to have this experience on my resume. I have overused the word "grateful," however I simply cannot find another word for the support I have received while on this journey - and was able to make it work while working about 60+ hours per week! 

Enrolling in Springboard's Bootcamp was a pivotal move for my career transition. The program's standout feature is its robust support system, including on-call mentors, advisors, and group forums—ensuring you never feel alone. However, as a bootcamp, the curriculum's accelerated pace can be challenging, requiring forward thinking and proactive organization. Despite the rush, the comprehensive support network makes Springboard an excellent choice for those navigating a career switch.

I was worried about taking a bootcamp online for I didn't know how supported I would be throughout the process.  This was a complete career change for me and I was hesitant for I thought getting lost in the curriculum would be a possibility.  After completing the program I can say that the amount of support you receive to stay on track was fantastic.  They really have designed the program for supporting students.  I will say that I utilized my mentor and student advisor the most however there are a ton of other supportive resources Springboard provides their students with.  The key is to verbalize the need for support and reach out.  Thats it!

I didn't have any experience with UX or UI, and that being said, this course is one of the if not the hardest thing I've ever done. It took me a lot longer than normal, but I think it's worth it in the sense that I have a decent foundation of the topic and now have my own portfolio. I have to say that I think it takes most people longer than their 9-month length timeframe to complete the curriculum, so keep that in mind. They are also very accommodating and understanding should something come up in your time while in the course. They granted me multiple pauses and freezes as my mental health was declining. Those breaks really helped me clear my mind and get back into things. I only recently applied to complete my course, so I don't have any feedback about job assistance, but the fact that they offer it post-completion is assuring. 

If you find yourself unsure of where to begin, a bootcamp could prove beneficial, just as it did for me. My personal mentor not only met but exceeded my expectations, aiding me not only in preparing for the bootcamp but also in setting realistic expectations beyond its confines. While individuals with self-discipline and a tolerance for unstructured learning might not necessarily require a bootcamp, as all the necessary information is available online, the true value of this particular bootcamp lies in the connections you forge with fellow participants and the valuable insights offered by mentors to enhance your skills. My only suggestion for improvement would be to include unlimited IDP List projects, allowing students to gain more real-life work experience rather than relying solely on self-created projects. Further, be prepared to be resilient in the job search phase.

Due to all the support provided by my mentors and student support staff, the course was very easy to navigate. It allowes me to learn with no stress in my mind. The course itself was very hands on, giving me chances to apply whatever I was learning
