Springboard offers an exceptional curriculum meticulously crafted to facilitate career transitions. Beginning with fundamental concepts, the program effectively builds upon these foundations, ensuring comprehensive understanding through quality instruction and practical application. A standout feature is the personalized one-on-one mentorship, providing tailored guidance and enhancing the learning experience. Additionally, the support system is outstanding; I consistently received prompt and helpful responses to my inquiries. My journey with Springboard was not only informative but also transformative, culminating in a job offer within just five months of starting the course. This experience has been genuinely life-changing.

Extensive, comprehensive course. Tools taught from the bottom up, no short cuts. 1:1 industry mentor as invaluable. Career units are engineering centric and very helpful, includes networking, LinkedIn, resume, mock interviews, ect. Had a few issues throughout the course and advising was quick to assist.

This software engineering course was an incredible journey into the heart of web development. Covering HTML, CSS, and JavaScript provided a solid foundation, but my real highlights were diving into React for front-end magic and mastering Flask for server-side scripting. The course's emphasis on hands-on learning made it a fun experience. My mentors were knowledgeable, and the curriculum felt hard enough to know you are learning but not impossible to do if you set yourself to it.

Compared to other bootcamps that I have seen and experienced through friends, Springboard is much better paced and supported. The ability to be flexible with the course was very attractive. The mentor system is very helpful and uplifting when you are having a hard time. The subjects covered are much more complete than other bootcamp I looked into and the instructor videos by Colt Steele are top notch. The curriculum covers most popular topics in the world of front and backend development. I would say that only a few topics are out of date, since the versions of coding libraries are always being updated. This can cause some confusion on the students part to figure out what to do and how to get the same result on the newest revisions. I will also say that personally, I could have used a bit more repetition on core concepts. I found that doing something once and the moving on to learn a whole new concept to be difficult to remember. I know that this is something I can do on my own, but the reason you enter a bootcamp is to have the course work laid out for you. Otherwise you would just take Udemy courses and learn on your own. Overall I found the experience to be worthwhile and I went from knowing only a little HTML and CSS, to being able to write fully fledged code in Js and Python. Not to mention all the libraries used and SQL databasing. It was tough at times, but anything worth while is.

The course provided valuable projects and insightful career guidance, but to truly internalize the knowledge, you've got to take the initiative. Going that extra mile is key, especially considering the limited mentorship and instruction compared to a traditional academic setup.Hung Tran

I completed Springboard's Software Engineering Career Track bootcamp and had a great experience. The curriculum is comprehensive and covers more topics than other bootcamps I have seen. 1 on 1 mentor support is genuinely impressively and introduced me to real world code reviews and industry practices.I highly recommend Spring SWE program to anyone looking to change their career!

Overall I had a great experience going through the software engineering curriculum with Springboard. Perhaps the most valuable aspect was that I could generally go through the material at my own pace. There were guidelines of how many exercises and projects to complete per week to stay on track, which was helpful. The mentor I was matched up with was awesome. She had over a decade of real world experience and was very helpful. The material in the curriculum felt relevant and the projects were actually quite fun. One minor downside was that the materials I was given were recorded/created in 2019, so quite a few things were outdated and sometimes the sample code needed updated.

Overall Springboard was a great experience. I love how you get to go at your own pace and there is so much help available when you need it. You get a certain number of on demand mentor calls and I didn't even use half of them because there was so much support available in the springboard community. They teach you primarily web development. Its very hands on so you'll be building a lot from scratch. Personally, I also wish there were more topics on theory and data structures/algorithms. Overall, by the end of this course, I have so many more skills to apply in different areas. The career coaches also try their best to help you be the best possible candidate for a job. The mini projects / assignments at the end of every section also make your software engineering portfolio look good.

Most of the lectures seem to have been recorded in 2019 which isn't a problem for the basics but once you start getting into mid level subjects it is a bit frustrating that the projects often require you to use older versions of languages and frameworks. Particularly egregious was being required to use an older version of Redux as there has been a major overhaul since these videos were filmed. The projects provided were instructive and built upon each other nicely. I enjoyed working with my mentor to build ideas for my two capstones. My mentor was also helpful in finding alternative resources when I didn't fully understand the material.I am moving into my post completion career support and I'm pleased with my current coach. The career coaching during the course was a mixed bag. I had a coach or two that would tell me what to do but if I asked for whys they would bloviate and then circle back to telling me to do the same thing.Overall I'm happy with Springboard and recommend them.

I was student and withdraw from the program all program class are index of videos from mentor’s YouTube channel. Don’t invest that amount of your money with this school. If you want learn skills go to Pluralsight or Udemy is way less money and better.

Springboard's Software Engineering Career Track armed me with the skills I needed to confidently seek out jobs for my programming career. The workload was more dense than I had expected, being a 700+ hour course, but I had kept at it. There were others to assist me, such as my mentor and coaches, who helped me get through a good chunk of my roadblocks. The workload can get rough, but it's great for those looking to change their career.

The program is impressively structured, indicating that it has been well-established over a significant period. It is designed for self-paced learning and Springboard offers an easy-to-understand teaching approach. The team is always willing to assist you, ensuring that you will never be stranded. The mentorship program is an excellent feature of the program. Engaging with an experienced professional in your field of study is an ideal way to learn more about the practical aspects of the profession.

I went into the course without any prior programming experience, and without a degree. Thanks to the help of my mentor and the encouragement of other students, I learned a lot and managed to land an internship while only half-way through the course! I would say that having an amazing mentor was the highlight of my time in thise course.

Overall, I had a good experience at Springboard. The curriculum is very straightforward in the way programming concepts are explained. This combined with Colt Steel's personality, charm, and sense of humor also make the videos worth watching (even the long ones). However, there are some areas in which they can improve. First of all, the videos are understandable, but not very beginner-friendly. I didn't have a hard time understanding them because I came into the course with programming experience already, but the videos are confusing if you don't already know what you're doing. As well, the videos do not adequately prepare you for the projects and tests. Sure, they help a lot, but it's frankly inadequate in terms of actual preparation as the projects/tests often prompt the students to create something almost totally unrelated to their supposedly corresponding units. Furthermore, students are supposedly allowed to seek help with problems related to the coursework through the help of Teachers Assistants (TAs). While many of them are very helpful and friendly, a lot of them are too vague and do not answer the question in the first place (especially when seeking help via email). Lastly, if you have a mental health condition such as depression or similar, this program is not for you. In my opinion/experience, Springboard does not offer adequate support, understanding, or accommodation for people who sometimes need to take a pause from the course due to a legitimate health issue. Their response is to seemingly try to rush students through the course instead of showing more of an empathetic approach to people who may need more time due to a medically valid reason. Overall, it's a good program for those who want to "Springboard" (see what I did there?) your way into a computer science career in an oversaturated as well as a ridiculously competitive industry despite its flaws.

I had a great time in the springboard program. I came into it being a self-taught programmer that wanted a stronger foundation for my skills and a certification to open up career opportunities. Springboard's software engineering career track gave me projects and lessons that really taught me the fundamentals of software engineering pretty comprehensively. The projects all built upon the lessons that came before, so while they were really challenging and great for my portfolio, I was able to follow them well enough and complete them. The two capstone projects are where I really leveled up. Capstone projects are your major projects that you build all on your own. I learned a ton and had a great time building my own full-stack apps from scratch. I had a lot of personal things going on throughout the program, so I would fall behind a lot with my projects, my mentor was great at helping keep the important things like completing the program in perspective. Which was hugely motivating. The one area where I didn't really get the full benefit from was the career services. The coach they gave me was great and they helped me develop my career persona/portfolio. However when it came to the actual job search, I was pretty much on my own and the market may be hot but it is still very difficult getting a job. Not getting an interview...getting the job. My career advice for after the program is to make sure you have at least one star project you can speak to that highlights all your skills. Even better if you can show off the project in action in some way. Those things are what landed me my current two positions. As a freelance developer and coding mentor at the apple academy.

I had compared a lot of boot camps before choosing Springboard to get a deeper understanding of how to program. I landed on Springboard due to their transparency of the program and graduate results. I also was really attracted to the program because it assigned you a mentor you had a one-on-one meeting per week to help you understand hard concepts. It also allowed an experienced person to help you through roadblocks as you progressed in the course, and assess your code as you did the school projects. I also liked that the program had a lot more projects to do in the course than other boot camps helping to build muscle memory to solidify the concepts we learn. It was also nice that our two capstone projects were completely what we wanted to build on our own, giving us all a unique profile for employers and the ability to build something we were passionate about. I would recommend this boot camp to anyone looking to try to break into a new career. The support in all aspects from the school was awesome.

I really loved the self paced nature of the course. It took away stress of outside life events. I think colt Steele provides great course videos that are easy to follow and broken down in a way that’s easy to understand. I would recommend doing it full time, as I can imagine it being pleasant to do on top of working.

Springboard has a robust curriculum with industry expert mentor support and career services. It helps to have a little bit of IT and basic Web development knowledge prior to starting this course. Prepare to immerse yourself in the world of full-stack development, networking, resume building, behavioral interview preparation, data structures and algorithms and coding interviews. You will work on 2 Capstone projects in 2 different stacks: Flask / PostgreSQL / Jinja2 for first project and then Express / React / PostgreSQL or MongoDB. You will learn how to build applications and deploy them online to a service like Heroku. The curriculum could use a refresher for 2023 as it was originally created before 2020 looks like. But it gives you a good foundational knowledge nonetheless.
Graduate 2023
Springboard was a good self-paced online option for beginners. I went in with zero knowledge about coding or software engineering and I feel as though I am leaving with a really good overall knowledge of full stack development. I felt as though the materials were good and easy to follow and understand, but there was only one instructor for every single lesson and section and it did become quite monotonous. There is support offered from the TA staff which is helpful and also the mentorship program is really good. I was matched up with the perfect mentor for my needs and it really made all of the difference.
