Springboard software engineering bootcamp

For the Springboard Software Engineering Career Track, the well-structured, self-paced format is a major strength. With a consistent effort of dedicating time daily, it's possible to complete the comprehensive curriculum in 7–8 months. The bootcamp's project-based approach allows you to build a full-stack application by the end of the course, providing hands-on experience. The capstone project was instrumental in building a full-stack application and boosted my confidence in frameworks and languages. Bi-weekly mentor calls were crucial for staying on track throughout the course.

Great Program to Learn New Skills

Hello, my name is Nathaniel Perry. I joined Springboard's Software Engineering Career Track straight out of my B.S. in Parks and Recreation to gain tech skills I could use to either pivot completely into tech or enhance my capabilities with GIS/mapping-tech for backcountry sciences. I had an amazing Mentor, Abhijeet Mohan, who was there to help me through the whole program. I recommend this program to anyone looking to learn coding skills, enhance their resume with a certificate or just learn new skills with guidance.

Great Practical Experience

I recently completed Springboard’s Software Engineering Bootcamp and found the experience to be both practical and rewarding. The curriculum focused on real-world skills, and I especially appreciated the hands-on practice exercises, which helped reinforce key concepts as I learned them. The mentorship component was a standout feature—having one-on-one sessions with an experienced software engineer provided valuable guidance, accountability, and career insight.Overall, Springboard struck a great balance between structure and flexibility, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a self-paced yet supportive way to transition into software engineerin

Structured curriculum, personalized guidance

Pros:- Organized, easy-to-follow curriculum with project feedback: Coming from an iOS background, I knew little about web development and only had a vague understanding of databases, servers, and APIs. The curriculum covered a lot of this in depth and the mini graded projects gave me the opportunity to put into practice what I learned. The projects were also graded with feedback so I knew that they were reviewed by more experienced software engineers. - Guidance from mentor: My mentor was there with me for the entire journey through the bootcamp. He helped me relate concepts to real-world situations so that I could better grasp how they worked, and he was there to clear up any confusion I had. - Personalized feedback from career coaches: Having so many professional career coaches review my resume, LinkedIn, and networking strategies gave me confidence that I have all the necessary job search materials to succeed.Cons- A little on the expensive side, they do offer flexible payment plans. - Took 9 months and 800+ intense hours, so it is a commitment. Looking big picture, this is a really short time to learn web development and full stack technologies in depth.

Software Engineering Career Track - Foundations to Core

I had a fantastic experience completing the Springboard Software Engineering Bootcamp. The curriculum was comprehensive, hands-on, and up to date with current industry standards. I appreciated how the program balanced theory with real-world projects, allowing me to build a solid portfolio and gain practical experience in full-stack development. One of the biggest highlights was the personalized mentorship. My mentor provided invaluable guidance, consistent feedback, and support throughout the program, which made a huge difference in my learning journey. The career coaching sessions were also incredibly helpful in preparing for the job search, from resume reviews to mock interviews.Overall, Springboard gave me the skills and confidence to transition into tech, and I’m grateful for the structure, resources, and support it provided. I highly recommend it to anyone serious about breaking into software engineering.

Springboard Bootcamp is a flexible, mentor-led learning experience

Pros: Springboard offers flexible, self-paced learning with one-on-one mentorship from industry professionals. The curriculum is project-based and career-focused, and many programs include a job guarantee. Career support services like resume help and mock interviews are also provided.Cons: The self-paced format requires strong self-motivation and time management. It’s entirely online, which may not suit everyone, and networking opportunities can be limited. The cost might be high for some, even though it’s more affordable than traditional degrees.

Springboard Software Engineering Track

I learned a lot from this program about full stack development. There are even technical interviews that you get to experience at the end to see how well you would do in a live interview. I feel that the course has prepared me to get an entry level job in the software engineering field. I think the mentorship program could be done a little better, because sometimes the mentor will not always know how to answer your questions. You can change mentors if you need to though. Overall, the curriculum was thorough and easy to understand as well as enjoyable to work through.

Great Bootcamp with Amazing Support

Starting with a small amount of coding knowledge, this course did wonders and helped me learn so much. I will say that I much enjoyed the backend technologies that this bootcamp taught rather than the frontend technologies. There's a lot of information being taught and it can be a bit overwhelming, especially if you are trying to speed run the assignments. Also, I do recommend knowing a bit about javascript, html, and css. The reason being that this course hits the ground running hard and fast, and it can get easy to be left behind if you plan on completing everything early or on time.Things I liked about the course were the topics covered, mentors, career coaches, and support staff. Topics covered are relevant to today for the most part. For mentors there are a handful you can choose from and they will help you with any question you have. My mentor was fantastic and went above and beyond what I expected of him. The career coaches are super helpful when it comes to jobs and what people look for. The support staff is also great and will answer any questions or concerns you have fairly quickly.Things I disliked about the course were the outdated code, dependencies, and price. Sometimes the starter code and dependencies were outdated but for the most part it was fine. As for the price it is on the higher side compared to other bootcamps.Overall, I would absolutely take this course again! Even if it is a little pricey, I think it's absolutely worth it given everything the course offers.

Springboard Software Engineering Career Track - Foundations to Core Review

Overall the Software Engineering Career Track Bootcamp at Springboard was great. I was able to gain a strong grasp on core S.E. topics and had lots of great guidance along the way. The mentors and career staff in particular helped a lot, and I am proud of the projects I made. I think it is a great program that teaches topics in a good, digestible manner. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to get started in the Software Engineering field.

Challenging and engaging!

The course was challenging but Springboard offers a ton of support to keep you engaged. Each piece of video content was short and to the point which helped give a feeling of quick progression. In addition the account tools helped ensure that I completed everything on time. The feedback and support from mentors and career coaches was extremely helpful. The only negative I have with the course is that the video content can struggle to keep up with the ever changing technology so getting through some of content was a little confusing. But again there are plenty of resources to help get you through it. I feel confident that I have the skill and knowledge to land a job even in this tough market!

Not Worth It, Job Guarantee Conditions Impossible to Meet

Overall a bad experience. I learned a lot, but all from videos that they just link to from youtube. Instructor is literally youtube videos. No support from staff (only help I got was from other students). Mentors checked out. Over promised and under delivered. No job prospects after passing the course (super competitive market for entry level devs these days).

Software Engineer Program

This program is tough, but I had a great experience with the software engineering course. The curriculum covers a wide range of material, and we learn two main programming languages: JavaScript and Python. There’s plenty of hands-on practice, and the two Capstone projects (of your choice) are a fantastic opportunity to showcase your skills. Additionally, we have a personal mentor, along with weekly on-demand mentor sessions. I also appreciated the career assistance provided during the course and for six months after completion. That said, there are some areas for improvement, such as better alignment between some assignments and their difficulty level, as well as adjusting the timing and structure of some projects.

Springboard

Hello, If I could go back and spend my money elsewhere I would. I wish I would have gone in person as this course is non-conducive learning. The lack of help when you have a question is frustrating If you are working full time.. as it will take a day or so to get that answer. They only allow 1  call per week with a actual person to provide clarity so good luck getting a detailed explanation more the that. Project instructions are just some text and I feel they are never clear instructions and I am left with many questions where I have to wait until I can get ahold of someone for clarity. I've also noticed one "mentor" I had never checked my work and just kept saying "everything looks good" until I hired my own tutor and found my code riddled with errors and went over them. Sometimes the projects also ask you to perform things you haven't even learned yet in the videos. My critique to this school would be to film detailed instructions from a human with instructions as well as the written instruction, also should be able to speak to someone more the 1x a week. I cant personally recommend this school in good conscious to anyone. I have done online school before and have a bachelors degree so I have a idea of well structured and supportive school and this is not that.

It's a scam.

I've applied for the software engineering bootcamp recently and I was contacted by an advisor. I told my advisor that i can't start immediately. I asked if they have classes that will start after two months (in feb 25). He told me there will be new classes every month, but  in order to secure a spot in the future, I have to pay a $1000 immediately. So I paid. But before I decided to start I had many questions, therefore I called him and email him many times and each time I made sure that I'm able to start on a later date. That  why i believed him and paid. But soon as I made the payment, I realized he was lying. The admission office told me to start immediately and to pay the rest of the fee in two days. That wasn't the agreement we have. Now they are accumulating a late fee. Trust me! I contacted my advisor, the school finance office and the admission office. None of them seem to care. That' when   knew I got a scammed in to paying. I'll try to get a refund and revoke my application. Think about it, if they didn't care now, they will absolutely not going to care after I paid all the money. Which I'll not do.  Do yoursel a favor, find another school. I know I'll.

Good Foundation for Web Development

I started the Software Engineering career track with Springboard in September of 2023 and completed it in November of 2024. It took me longer than expected (10-11 months is the expectation) to complete the course since I had to balance my schedule with a full time job with work related travel and many life events but the Springboard team was very accommodating and allowed me to finish in a timeline that worked for my situation. I already work in software as a business systems analyst but taking the software engineering track was valuable for me because it helped me get more in depth knowledge in the technical side of my work and a deeper understanding of what the developers on my team work through day to day. The course material in Springboard provided me a good technical baseline to continue my education in software because it gave me a good principled understanding of software development and how current web based applications generally work. Despite some of the technologies and frameworks being taught in the course not being the latest and most popular in the industry, the understanding gained from this bootcamp allowed me to explore and pick up new technologies very quickly because it gave me a good foundational understanding of how web applications work. So I would recommend not reading into which languages/frameworks are being taught in Springboard as a detractor from taking this course. The material is of high quality and Colt Steeles videos are very easy to follow and well planned out.

Best bootcamp experience possible

Springboard's Software Engineering Bootcamp sincerely helped become a confident and knowledgeable software engineer. This bootcamp and the people at Springboard set you up for success, but it's all up to you to get what you can out of it. If you work hard, you will be able to say it was an amazing experience. I personally came from knowing nothing about software engineering, and now I can confidently code, build websites and do things I never thought I would be doing. If you are on the edge of choosing between bootcamp's or just looking into this direction, I would highly suggest you give this opportunity with Springboard a shot!

Springboard worked well for me

I took/am close to finishing the Web Development course.  It focuses on HTML/CSS and Javascript and is tailored toward people new to software development.  I have a computer science degree and several years of software development experience, but not in web development.  So I took this course to update my skillset. This course is good for both.  It properly explains things, such as, "what is the cloud?", how data is routed around the world wide web, etc.  It also discusses many programming concepts and source control.  I'm familiar with all those things but most people likely are not.Where I benefitted, and new web developers will too, is the hands on experience coding up HTML/CSS and Javascript.  There are lessons and programming exercises that keep you interested.  Your progress is tracked by weekly point status and you have access to TA's and are assigned a mentor to help with technical content.  You also have counselors and career advisors to help you navigate through all the other aspects of a new career.  My mentor and counselors were excellent. If you are having difficulty finding a curriculum I suggest you check out the Springboard Software Development Career Program.

I had a great experience

I had a really good experience with the program.  I have a family and the ability to do the work on my own schedule was crucial for me.  A lot of the times I was working very late at night after my kids went to bed.  I had a good experience with my mentor and the support team anytime I had a technical question or a question about the course.  This course is great if you can stay self motivate (the mentors and some of the lessons help with this).  All in all I would recommend it to someone who needs flexible learning times and is ok with self teaching and doing research when they get stuck.
