The certification prepared me for real web based projects

I liked the way the program was set. As you go through the course, you learned the basic essentials and were encouraged to learn new topics, such as NoSQL. Also, I liked how the capstones really made you think like a real developer. Plus, the support from the Career Services was really nice. If there was one thing I could change, it would be the depth of the basics about HTML and CSS taught during the first few lectures of the bootcamp.

Good for self-directed students

Just recently graduated, I think the curriculum was pretty good. I learned a lot of useful skills, concepts, and disciplines from working through the course-work, working with my industry expert mentors, and filling in the gaps here and there when needed. Admittedly there are a few moments where the coursework doesn't cover something that seems like it would be important, or there are sections in the curriculum that are still noticeably undergoing updates, but I think that's unavoidable when you're teaching technology and skills that are constantly evolving. All that being said, my main gripe with the bootcamp is how independent the coursework was. There is an unfortunate lack of group work. A group project would be very a good experience and achievement for students' portfolios. This isn't as big of an issue if you're determined and have good self-discipline, ultimately skills that are important to pick up if you're going to be software engineer. Another issue I had was that I switched coding mentors about three times. The first one I really liked but he had a falling out with the school and mentor program. The second mentor I had was well-meaning, but ultimately not a great fit for me, and due to personal reasons had to stop mentoring abruptly. My third mentor has been the best by far though. I wish there was some sort of trial period for mentors at the beginning of the bootcamp where you could switch around mentors, like how you're able to try out different career coaches. So if you're looking at Springboard for your next programming bootcamp, know that all the resources and job guarantee are just that, resources. It's up to you to make the most of it, so ask any and all questions as soon as possible. You get industry experts for mentors, both technical and career. They signed up for the job, so ask them as many questions as you can.

A worthwhile endeavor for anyone seeking a change in their career or to start a new one.

I just completed my entire course and am awaiting my certificate! Springboard has been a great bootcamp overall in my experience. As an individual who was working full-time and finishing assignments, projects, etc., I loved the admin and support's flexibility in helping me achieve my goals. I had a great mentor who provided invaluable feedback and guidance on getting me closer to finishing this curriculum. I found the workload, networking, and endeavor to be worthwhile because for me it meant something, not just completing a bootcamp. While this bootcamp provided great coursework, a structured plan on how to teach the student what is needed of an engineer from A to Z, and a supportive community of co-students and alumni, it's important to note that working through all of this doesn't mean that you're guaranteed a job at your front door. Like any other tech bootcamp, choosing to dive into such a journey requires that you be prepared and fully committed, considering your professional and personal lifestyle, how this will fit into your schedule, and ultimately what it will mean for you to achieve completion. In other words, you'll get the most value out of this if you're really set on achieving a career and being inspired and motivated by your personal reasons. Only you can make this work for you - the bootcamp is there to help launch you at the right trajectory.Additional feedback: I'd say that while the admin and support team have been great, there were times when confusing answers were given if I needed help with something (outside the coursework). I also never got to communicate with my original advisor after a few instances, but the advising team still helped. Some improvements in communication and providing accurate details of Springboard's policies would be great for future students. That and everything else being said, I had a great time as a student here. I found lots of great value in the lessons taught and their guidance on how an engineer should think and operate, networking advice, community support, and much more! Currently ready to embark on a new career, I hope learning with Springboard will be worth something to you!

Springboard Software Engineering Career Track

When compared to other programs for Software Engineering, Springboard's may seem relatively expensive and long, but the length is actually a major strength and they provide so many options for payment and have been nothing but flexible for me during the course. The content of the program is the best part of the whole deal. They cover a wide breadth of important software engineering concepts from the theoretical to applied. Already the information studied has been helpful in navigating interviews for engineering positions. The only con I had with the program, is that there are parts where they are shifting which frameworks, libraries, or deployment sites that they are using, but their videos/documentation for those subunits feel like copy-and-paste sections that have not been smoothed over yet.

Great

I took the Software Engineer Career track at Springboard. It dives into detail with each topic and walks through each step with you, You also get a 1 on 1 mentor that you get to get on a call with each week if you have any questions or if you need any help. Overall Springboard was a great experience for me because I gained more skills with the projects I have made and now am more confident in my job search.

Great Full-Stack Curriculum

I recently completed the software engineering career track, and it was a very pleasant experience. My mentor was very knowledgable in the field and answered any technical questions that I may have. The career coaches were supported and gave helpful tips into the job search. Parts of the curriculum was out-of-date but it was still very insightful knowledge for software development

Clear, practical, structured

Springboard was excellent to work with. I was excited to start software development and I was immersed in it from day one. Not only that but you get to meet weekly with mentors that are working in the industry. I love the boot camp skills based approach to learning. It works better than college for those of us with kids and jobs. Check with your state jobs office. Many boot camps are offered through grants! I highly suggest springboard! You will be living in Vscode for 9 months but you will gain so many skills!

Exceptional

The course structure is great and there is a lot of resources to get you help when you need it like the mentor that is assigned to you and the student slack community. There is a steady increase as you go through the course with regular assignments and assessments which is nice because it does point out how much you have actually learned and what you need to improve on. My only complaint is with the On-Demand mentors, I had more than once where they either didn’t show up or showed up really late.

Great Hands On Experience

Working with Springboard was a very rewarding experience. Throughout my time in the program, I really got a grasp of modern software engineering techniques and all sorts of commonly used programs and languages. The hands-on approach they take to teaching made it super immersive and relatable. I also want to note how beneficial the weekly 1:1 mentor calls were towards my understanding and success.
What I loved most was how the program gave me the freedom to take control of my learning journey. Sure, I could have just cruised through the curriculum, but diving deeper and pushing myself to go beyond the assignments gives you a great understanding to go off and make your own projects in your free time. It's amazing how much you can grow when you're given the space to explore and create on your own. Plus, it's all about building that killer portfolio, right? So, yeah, Springboard definitely helped me level up in more ways than one.

Waste of money

The bootcamp doesn't offer anything that is unique or special. You can learn everything that is taught in the course by spending less than $100 purchasing a full stack web development course from Udemy. In fact, the tutorial videos used in their course is available on Udemy. The mentorship they offer is a joke. My mentor did not know anything about web development. Every time I asked him a question, he directed me to some web page instead of him explaining the topic or discussing the issue. After some time, I realized that asking him specific question about web development was a waste of time. The job guarantee they offer is  scheme used to entice folks to purchase the course. The company can and will change the job guarantee period as the job market changes. Right after I completed the course, they changed the job guarantee period from 6 months to 9 months.I think there was a time where having gone to bootcamp helped you get a job but it has become very difficult for current graduates to land a job. So why should anyone spend $10K on a course that will not help them land a job as a developer or help them increase their salary. Also, there are many other alternatives to bootcamp when it comes to learning web development that is cheaper and allows you to learn the same concepts. My advise is to not waste your money at Springboard or any other bootcamp.

Thanks for your feedback

Hi Artin,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are truly sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations, and we appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns.
We understand there are many free resources available for learning web development. Springboard's approach includes selectively curating the most effective materials across various platforms to ensure our students can learn the most relevant concepts efficiently and thoroughly. By organizing these resources and pairing them with structured support, we aim to optimize your learning journey and save you the time you might spend searching for and vetting swaths of materials on your own that might not be useful to landing a web development role.
We are disheartened to hear about your experience with your mentor. Our mentorship program is designed to provide direct, expert support, and it sounds like we missed the mark in your case. In addition to scheduled mentor sessions, we encourage our students to utilize our on-demand mentorship, TA sessions, and career coaching as needed.
The job guarantee program is intended to alleviate some of the stress associated with finding a job in a competitive market. While it's true that market conditions can necessitate adjustments to the job guarantee period, these changes are made with the intent of giving our graduates enough time to find the right opportunity. Regardless of the job guarantee, our commitment remains strong to assist all of our students in landing meaningful entry-level positions in their field of study.
We would love to hear more about your experience and discuss how we can improve. Your satisfaction and success as a Springboard student are very important to us. Great learning experience and a wonderful journey with Springboard's Software Engineer Career Track

I am a Java Developer who has taken a 5-year break in my career for personal reasons. To upskill my software knowledge, I decided to pursue a BootCamp and my friend recommended SpringBoard. The SpringBoard curriculum helped me to learn new technologies, and the projects provided valuable coding knowledge. My mentor was incredibly supportive and provided excellent guidance. The career services, including resume reviews and mock interviews, were very helpful in preparing for job interviews, and as a result, I was able to land a job. I highly recommend SpringBoard to anyone who wants to upskill their software knowledge.

I have learned new skills and new approaches for job searching.

I needed to freshen up my coding skills and I was thing about applying to a bootcamp.Of course, I was skeptical. What if  I don’t like curriculum,  I don’t like my Mentor, I don’t like the Coach advisor? I asked so many questions to the Sales Manager at Springboard and I was content with the responses. Springboard curriculum helped me, also, I never missed a meeting with my Mentor, Muhammad. He gave me tips and push me to do better projects.

Good Content, Good Support

The SEC program for Software Engineering was a really thorough course. There was good content in the course materials covering a lot of industry standard approaches to working with frameworks such as Flask and large code bases. I was impressed that Springboard was continually updating the course material as I was enrolled and as new technology was being released. The support from Springboard was also good, they were very attentive to all my emails regarding any concerns I was having during the course. Overall a great experience!I was very thorough about reading all the fine-print details regarding the job guarantee so I did not come across any surprises, but you do have to take the time to read all documents that you sign.

Good Curriculum, Enough Assignments

I recently completed the software engineering bootcamp, and I must say it was an outstanding experience. The curriculum is well-structured, covering a broad range of topics essential for a successful career in software engineering. The modules are thoughtfully designed, progressing from fundamental concepts to advanced topics seamlessly. The instructors are highly knowledgeable and passionate about their subjects. They not only imparted theoretical knowledge but also provided practical insights and real-world examples that enriched the learning experience. The teaching style fostered a collaborative and engaging environment, making complex concepts more accessible. The abundance of assignments and projects was a highlight for me. These hands-on tasks allowed me to apply what I learned in a practical setting, reinforcing my understanding and honing my problem-solving skills. The variety of projects ensured exposure to different technologies, preparing me for the dynamic nature of the software industry. The teaching assistant (TA) support was exceptional. TAs were readily available to clarify doubts, provide guidance on assignments, and offer additional help when needed. Their responsiveness and willingness to assist greatly contributed to my success in the program. The career coaches played a pivotal role in preparing us for the job market. Their insights into industry trends, resume building, and interview preparation were invaluable. The career support extended beyond the program, with resources and guidance available as I transitioned into the job search phase.

Hough quality bootcamp, with excellent support

Springboard offers an incredible experience. The curriculum was amazing. The curriculum for their course was designed by Colt Steele who is a veteran teacher. He is masterful at what he does and I hardly ever needed to go back to understand a concept being explained. He is a very good teacher and he is quite adept at making the curriculum fun (as much as it could be) which is something I realized is actually essential for people who are self learning. It makes sit a lot easier to get through the videos when they're engaging. The support springboard offers is top notch. I spoke with a student advisor every week to set accountability goals. She was very helpful and nice. The mentor ship program was a huge boon for me. The mentor I received was very knowledgeable and offered a lot of key advice and feedback. It made me feel like a real professional when I saw that I was able to speak proficiently with someone in the industry. The major downside to speak of is the fact that the course was online and self paced. You really need to be disciplined to make it through 100s of hours of course content even with the support that springboard offers. That aspect was quite challenging. But if that isn't a problem for you then I would highly recommend Springboard.
