SheCodes Basics

Attending the recent workshop was a perfect experience that exceeded my expectations👩‍🦰. The engaging content, expert facilitators, and interactive sessions were so good. I never thought coming from an entirely non-tech background that I would be able to use HTML, CSS and JavaScript to make a whole landing page from scratch in the space of just 3 weeks - I've truly shocked myself and that's all thanks to Matt and the SheCodes team! The content is SO clear to understand and I got help so quickly in the Slack channels when I got stuck, I cannot wait to continue learning with the SheCodes Max course!

I have always been intrigued by coding and I've been trying to start my journey over the past few months, but none of the programs that I saw were a right fit until I came across the SheCodes Foundation. They understand that as women, especially from third world countries, we do not get many opportunities and I'm excited to continue my journey with SheCodes! I am 31 and looking to change careers. I've always been fascinated with how computers work, how they do all the amazing things they do. SheCodes was advertised on instagram whilst I was looking at jobs like Online Marketing and I thought "What a good skill to have." It applies to so many careers and I had some time off of work to dedicate to learning a new skill. The SheCodes Basics course has been amazing. The bite-sized lessons and challenges to test what you've just learnt is an incredible teaching technique. I've enjoyed it so much and have recommended it to friends. I'm considering a Graphic Design career and I think having done this initial course will help me in that pursuit. Thank you Matt and the SheCodes team.

The online workshop was very beginner friendly, straightforward, precise, well-organized and flexible. You get to do it online and 100% on your own pace with technical support to help you along the way. You'll also get to do challenges for every lesson, homework for every week, and eventually, the real project at the end of the workshop. Seems much but trust me, it was fun, and knowledgeable! It polishes your skills and make sure that you understand the whole thing to the core. Best part, you get to see the solution in which the instructor will thoroughly explain everything and if you have to make changes, you can just submit the updated challenge after fixing it. For a total beginner in which I have zero knowledge of coding to start with, it is such a great platform to learn coding in general. I for one, looking forward to the next workshop I'll be enrolled in. Best of luck to all!

I would like to share my impressions about the programming courses I took on your website. I was pleasantly surprised by the depth and breadth of the material that was presented. These courses gave me the opportunity to delve into various areas of programming, starting from basic concepts to more advanced topics. The practical assignments, in particular, were very helpful as they allowed me to directly apply the knowledge I acquired. The community was always ready to help, which gave me additional confidence in the learning process. I am confident that these courses significantly improved my programming skills and will help me in my future career in this field.

Having the opportunity to participate in SheCodes Basics opened doors for me in the world of coding, promoting an opportunity that I would hardly have had in my country. It's a carefully thought-out course that we can do in our own pace, with complete explanations and illustrations. The course really is everything you need to know to enter this new world. Thank you SheCodes for teaching me about a skill that I discovered I have a lot of potential and the chance of actually pursuing a career in coding. This course really makes a difference to gender equity in some countries!

This course was an amazing experience. I had three weeks to finish all my lessons and assignments but I just couldn't wait so I completed the course in over a week! The journey has completely changed my previous opinion about coding. There was little math involved in this basic course so I could use my creativity to create a simple website page, which is something I'm extremely proud of. Matt's instructions were simple but effective, and there were the Slack community and Athena AI to assist me during my learning process. I will definitely continue to improve my limited coding knowledge through other more advanced SheCodes courses.

I am delighted with the SheCodes workshop that I just completed! I had very basic knowledge of coding prior to signing up and happy to say that I received a refresher and then some! I learned a few new tips and tricks and learned how to refine my code beyond creating a basic skeleton. Also it's great to actually know how to read code and understand what makes a website tick! I started this course as I was working on a new website build and was struggling to understand the coded side of things, this course has given me a wealth of knowledge! I thought it was all explained very well and having a challenge after each lesson really helped to cement what I'd learnt! Would highly recommend! 

I initially thought it was going to be daunting to learn how to code but it ended up being enjoyable. I won't lie it would get challenging but through doing my own research and the help of the Slack community, I would quickly overcome the challenge. The study material is spaced in such a way that you can take in a good amount of information in one video.The challenges were how I got to practice what I have learned and more. SheCodes 100% definitely is the best coding workshop out there! Before starting SheCodes basics I thought I would feel discouraged or disinterested after the first week but it was completely the opposite. Throughout the course I was engaged and motivated to challenge myself and complete the tasks. The challenges and videos made coding feel so much more easier and it helped me stay on track. One thing I loved about the workshop is that I could go back to any lesson which I didn't fully understand and work on the challenges at any time of the day which is extremely useful for people who are busy. I've learnt so much from Matt and can't wait to begin SheCodes Max! 😇
