SheCodes Basics

 A truly amazing course to learn the foundations of coding. Matt really knows his stuff and it´s so great that he can explain each step without going off on a tangent. I really enjoyed this course and hopefully can continue with the next one 😃

Though I did not have any academical background knowledge I have always been passionate about having some coding skills. SheCodes program was the perfect solution for me as I was looking for online workshops suitable for a beginner. There was clear objective of each class so I knew what I will be learning each time. Matt was an amazing teacher also. With his explanation I managed to understand concepts that I used to get confused before. Looking forward to having more workshops from SheCodes!

 I started this workshop without knowing pretty much anything about coding. The way everything was explained and the step by step task/challenge dynamic made it really fun to try and code. At first it seems like there's a lot to take in but it works great! As an average user I can now understand a lot more about how coding works and the prospect of being able to use it on my own makes me feel a lot more confident! I hope to take the other 2 workshops as soon as possible, this was so much fun! If you're like me, just the kind of user who knows how to use the internet and computers like any average person but would like to know more and explore the possibilities of working with it too SheCodes is a very nice way to start. 

As a student, who had some knowledge on HTML and CSS and wanted to recall a few things I've learned before, as well as learning JavaScript from scratch, signing up for SheCodes was the best thing I could've ever made, I definitely recommend it, whether having or not some code knowledge, since the classes were made for beginners, which makes it really easy to follow along the 3 week workshop

I learned about SheCodes as I started looking into Coding Bootcamps. I figured the 3 week workshop I signed up for, based on the price, would maybe be a few videos about coding with a few quizzes here and there and a small project at the end but I was pleasantly surprised that it was much more than that! The lessons broke everything down so well and almost every lesson from the beginning was followed and applied in a challenge so that you could practice at every point. You learn something every step of the way. As someone who had no experience with coding at all, this was a doable yet challenging workshop to participate in that showed you and talked about real life programs to use! I would highly recommend this workshop to anyone.

My passion for coding start when I was 13 and I loved to change the html code of my tumblr. Now some years after, I'm so grateful to know SheCodes, the lessons are really well explained, and the challagens and homeworks help to improve everything that was teached before. Testimonial: My background is in Psychology, project management and psychometric tests but I've always been interested in technology, especially with everything going digital in our current climate.I thought I'd give SheCodes a go, as I've tried other free courses on other sites but it wasn't as interactive and I couldn't get help when I needed. With SheCodes, everything is at your own pace as the videos are bite-sized and you can go back if you need to. However, the homework keeps you accountable. I enjoyed doing the challenges as I prefer learning by doing. The staff and fellow students are really friendly and helpful if you are stuck. Coding might seem scary at first, but it really isn't! If you've been thinking about learning to code, go for this course, it's a great way to learn and build your skillset!

I'm loving SheCodes! I feel like I'm learning loads and at just the right pace for me. Finished my final project for the three week course in just two days because I was so excited to work on it. I've got a great grasp on HTML and CSS now, and have just begun my journey with JavaScript!

Joining SheCodes was my best decision ever - this workshop has been a truly life-changing experience and I absolutely recommend it. As an Arts & Humanities graduate, I used to think coding was definitely beyond my reach, but I could not have been more wrong!! I cannot believe how much I have learned in less than a month - to be able to create a landing page from scratch a mere three weeks after downloading VS Code is simply incredible. Now I have become way more confident in my IT skills and I am looking forward to a massive career switch as front-end developer in the cultural industry - who said art & coding could not go together, after all? :)

“Wow! What a wild ride. I signed up for the SheCodes workshop on a whim; I'd played around with HTML/CSS and was interested in learning a bit more. This course was the perfect tool. Matt did an excellent job of breaking up the information in "bite sized" pieces and explaining it in a way that was easy to follow/understand. The SheCodes workshop really opened a lo of doors for me. I had been trying to learn how to code on my own for some time, but taking that first step is really hard on your own. It's not a very long workshop, so you can't really get to deep, but it is great to get you started. Matt explains in a really easy way, you always finish the lesson having understood the content and the course is made in an excitting way, it gives you the chance to figure thing out on your own based on you learned in the lessons, and i really like that.

SheCodes was the first online coding class I've taken that made me feel like I *actually* made lots of progress! I was given the foundational tools of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and got to practice utilizing them each week to ultimately create a webpage of my own from scratch. Matt is an excellent teacher, explaining things in a way that made coding seem like an achievable skill for someone who is not so great with math and numbers🙈. Having a community of folks who are going through the same process as me and running into the same roadblocks just a Slack group away helped me get un-stuck many times. 

One of the most exciting and interesting courses I have ever done! 3 weeks ago I was an absolute beginner in coding and today I can see "behind the scenes" of a web page and build one! Thanks SheCodes for letting me discover the world of coding! Keep it up!
