SheCodes Basics

If you are a beginner or just want to get back into coding this is what you need! The project was really fun to code! I'm looking forward to my next Workshop!

“I was skeptical with how quickly or proficiently I could learn HTML, CSS, and JS in just 3 short weeks....I am pleasantly happy to share that it is possible! I take each lesson day by day and personally decide where I need to spend more time learning. I love this flexibility. If you need more time, they are accommodating but still have high expectations for completion. The final project was so much fun and I enjoyed my time creating my own site about cavapoos! I highly recommend. I will be moving on to the next part of the course and I am excited to continue this journey.” 

I really enjoyed the three weeks course and found it a great introduction to the world of coding, which seemed so alien to me before starting. I really like the format of the course, with instruction videos and challenges so that you get to practice the new skill you just learnt. I also appreciated how I could go at my own pace but still had the incentive of a deadline for the homework each week. Having the slack community was also great. Knowing that you are learning together with others can be very motivating.

SheCodes basics has really been helpful and kept me on my toes to keep coding,researching in order to become better. In relation to the homeworks and assignments. I will encourage any girl who is interested in programming to try Shecodes!

I didn't think I would be able to complete the course, or at least not very well, but the way it is instructed by Matt, and the allowance to take it all in you own time, in small or large chunks is very helpful! The videos make it easy to go back to something you learned before if you get stuck, and the online support system on Slack is amazing. I feel much more confident and better equipped now that I have completed the course! I plan to take more courses with SheCodes now and gain a better future! Thank you so much <3

The Workshop is great.I loved it! The Challenges were challenging, the demos were great too and very informative. I will definitely take another course in the future.

I did the free workshop on a whim because coding has always intrigued me, but I thought it was really maths-heavy. The one hour session opened my eyes - and I've learned that coding is so much more than numbers! I continued on to SheCodes Basic and I've learned so much in just a few weeks. It has been a really fun challenge and I highly recommend to anyone who is curious about coding. 👩‍💻

I started out with the idea that coding and computer programs were intimidating and that I could never learn them. Having completed this three-week workshop, I feel confident in my abilities to partake in front-end coding. This was an excellent workshop. I found the teaching and resources to be of fantastic quality. The instructions were clear to follow, it was all broken down into bite-sized chunks that were easy to understand and then practise. It builds up your knowledge gradually and your confidence grows with each step. Honestly, one of the best courses I've done (and I've done a few!) Cannot wait to do the next course. 

Great course to follow even if your popping in and out. Lessons have enough repetition to embed knowledge but not too much to become confusing. The challenges are also clever that they have elements that haven’t been covered fully but link very closely with what has been taught. Really positive and enjoyable

I joined SheCodes to have a first experience in coding as recommended by some friends. Matt is an excellent professor and it's amazing to have such a strong support from the SheCodes team whenever I got stuck in coding. I also loved the other SheCodes tools such as the Radio, the Color Wheel, the Gradient Wheel, among many others. What started as curiosity has totally become a real interest in coding and I'll certainly be joining other SheCodes Workshops to improve my coding skills 👩‍💻 

I took an intro course to coding (html, css, JavaScript). I am a total beginner who was always curious what coding it. Prior to this course I  tried to learn by reading books and watching videos but nothing made sense.  Matt and his team are very friendly. The course has dead lines but they are very flexible. You can always get an extension if something is going wrong and you cant finish on time. I also enjoyed a radio that Matt has on his website!Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to know what coding is and how it works! I will be back to take SheCodes Pro.

 I wasn't thinking about learning code but jumped onto the free SheCodes Express Workshop out of curiosity. From attending the workshop, I felt excited about joining, believing that coding was not beyond me and I would really enjoy it. Also, that by learning code I could expand and broaden my career. So, I decided to enrol in SheCodes Basics Workshop. I truly enjoyed every moment of learning coding in this workshop! In the workshop run by Matt, there was never a dull moment. The workshop included teaching videos, challenges, homework and a final project. It was easy to follow each week in my own time and at my desired pace, whilst still meeting the deadlines. The teaching is clear, concise, and engaging. If you ever were stuck on a problem, you could receive help on Slack. I never felt like I wasn't prepared to take on the challenges and apply what I learnt with hands on work. Having graduated from the Basics Workshop I will continue my coding journey with SheCodes Plus. Would recommend to anyone interested in learning code to jump on board the SheCodes train. You won't be disappointed, rather you'll be amazed by how far you'll go, even from just completing the SheCodes Basics Workshop.
