SheCodes Basics

From someone who has always branded themselves as "not techy", this course has proven me wrong! The SheCodes basics course has provided me with a fantastic introduction to HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I can't believe how much I've learnt in such a short space of time and am so proud of myself for what I have produced in my end project. I have loved the flexibility of being able to do all the lessons in my own time around my job and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone who wants to have a go at coding.

Learning the essentials in this boot camp has already helped me understand web design to a much better degree. Even after this first workshop, I am already communicating better with my team of developers and am understanding how to design better for web.

I attended a free SheCodes class at a really low point in the pandemic for my mental health. After the free workshop, I became increasingly interested in the career possibilities of a switch to working in tech. The flexibility of SheCodes allows me to work toward a dedicated goal, without entirely consuming my life. My favorite part of the workshops are the fact that they're skill-based: you have a quick video lesson, then you get to go have fun with a coding task. In said task, you get to see how your learning comes to fruition through practice, practice, practice AND you get to create! It is an incredible experience, easy to learn with short video explanations and after that a challenge or homework that gives you the opportunity to immediately practice what you learned. They have a staff that answers your questions fairly quickly. We have a chat community with all the students and staff and help each other in anything that we need.

Coding gives me some sort of energy and fulfillment. I really enjoy it.

Loved the whole experience and step by step explanations. I understood some things much better now than I had learnt from other courses before. Very well structured as well and all makes sense. I work with developers regularly for my job, so I had some background understanding of HTML but honestly CSS and JavaScript were not something I felt like I had any real depth of knowledge with. I wanted to take this course so that I could better assist my team, and it immediately helped. Matt's instructions were very good, he explained what could be rather confusing in simple, easy-to-understand terms.
