MIT IDSS AI & Data Science Program

The journey throughout this course was a great learning experience with instructor providing materials, quiz, handouts and project to enhance the learning skills about the subject. My mentor Jasper Gill, communicated the program updates, followed up if we had a question or concerns. provided support at every step. I recommend more individuals to join this course to up-skill themselves. Great Learnjng has an awesome platform where you can access all the training modules with ease. Thank you for helping me throughout this learning nourney of mine. 

The course is well structured and well paced. In addition, the course managers are attentive and supportive throughout the process. Over all, this course has been a seamless educational experience that I strongly recommend to others.

There are four key components to this course:

MIT Faculty’s Pre-Recorded Lectures: These lectures primarily focus on theoretical concepts. However, Great Learning has thoughtfully broken them down into bite-sized chunks, each followed by a non-graded assessment.

Live Mentoring Sessions by Industry Experts: These sessions provide a succinct overview of the course material. They are highly valuable for understanding the core concepts.

Course-End Projects: Each course includes both graded assessments and projects. Great Learning offers two versions of the projects—one easier and another for those seeking a greater challenge.

Master Classes: These classes reinforce the concepts learned during the courses and often take the form of live projects.
Additionally, Great Learning hosts hackathons for interested participants. This course is intense but well-supported by the program staff. It’s not suitable for absolute beginners, but I highly recommend it to those looking to challenge themselves

I really enjoyed going through this program. It’s structured in such a way that a learner can grasp concepts, apply them and re-iterate learnings through practical work. From the study materials, to the hand on master class, quizzes and projects. At the end of a module, one truly had an in depth understanding. 

The Data Science certificate program from MIT IDSS and Great Learning was an amazing experience! Learning from the minds of MIT faculty, true leaders in data science research, was incredible. The program provided a fantastic foundation in data science through engaging projects and case studies. The flexible online format was perfect for my busy schedule, allowing me to learn at my own pace but the assignments kept me accountable.I was particularly impressed by the machine learning and neural network lessons. They struck the perfect balance between technical depth and accessibility. The instructors provided a clear and comprehensive introduction to these complex topics, making them understandable even for those with a limited background. At the same time, the lessons offered plenty of opportunities for deeper exploration. The optional content, including advanced readings and challenging problems, allowed me to push myself further and delve deeper into areas that piqued my interest. This program truly catered to both those seeking a solid foundation and those hungry for a more rigorous challenge.

Great Learning has indeed rendered me with a great learning experience during my 12 weeks course in the Data Science and Machine Learning: Making Data-Driven Decisions program which started from Dec 2023 up to April 2024. The 12 weeks’ journey has been transformative!! Starting with no background in coding, I've progressed to applying computer languages in real-world projects. Balancing the roles of a wife, mother, sister, daughter and full-time employee, the course's demands were significant, yet manageable.
I liked the self-paced video lectures which were enlightening, encouraging timely completion to tackle the assessments and projects. Then feedback and quizzes that popped after each module segment were particularly effective, reinforcing my learning and kept me engaged. 
I enjoyed the mentorship and live lectures which added a personal touch, with my program manager/ coordinator accommodating my schedule, ensuring I could participate in a specific day's sessions. This flexibility, along with the support from Monica and Vineet, was invaluable, especially during challenging times such as my bedrest. Vineet’s empathy and immediate assistance was crucial in helping me meet deadlines at an adjustable comfortable pace after reporting my incident.
The exposure to data content and projects from leading global brands has boosted my confidence and fulfilled my aspiration to delve into big data analysis. A heartfelt thanks to MIT and the Great Learning Platform for this enriching experience.

As a current student of Mechatronics Engineering and the IT project manager for a construction company looking to diversify into sectors requiring extensive user and data management, I found this program to be an invaluable asset for staying abreast of the rapidly evolving landscape where data comprehension is paramount for business growth. My decision to enroll in this program was met with satisfaction beyond expectation.
The program's meticulously crafted curriculum and abundant resources exceeded my anticipations. The mentor-guided sessions and comprehensive reading materials were exceptionally clear and instructive. Despite the demands of managing multiple projects and navigating conflicting exam schedules, integrating this program into my routine seemed daunting at first. However, the seamless coordination between MIT and Great Learning made it remarkably manageable to incorporate this new skill into my expanding skill set.

I had previously avoided the Data Science and Machine Learning space as there was too much noise around it. This all changed when I came across the course offered. It not only fit my schedule, but also offered a beginner to advanced path to learning. The content is world class, the facilitators are excellent. It offered a very clear path from class to real-world. The concepts taught, the assessments and practical work done, was sufficient to convince me of not only value for money, but also how it all fits in my work. 

The "Data Science and Machine Learning: Making Data-Driven Decisions" program by MIT through Great Learning offers a comprehensive learning experience tailored for enthusiasts and aspiring data scientists alike. The program managers are incredibly supportive and provide invaluable guidance throughout the journey into the world of data science, making it a rewarding and fulfilling experience.

Having left College a while ago with few 1-2 Day programs in- between, this was quite a roller coaster ride, course material, teaching methods, assessment methods, absolutely on point, support is available, though I barely used them because the whole program is organized. Not to mention real world/industry case studies, Masterclasses, practice sessions. 1 other thing to make a note, I used a normal Intel celeron notebook for the whole program..though I recommend a higher Spec device. The Mobile experience was just as seamless, I can learn on the Go. 

Upon joining the program, I was excited yet slightly apprehensive about what lay ahead. However, the structured curriculum and supportive environment quickly put me at ease. Each module felt like unlocking a new realm of knowledge, but there were a few that truly resonated with me. For instance, the module on Classification and Hypothesis Testing not only deepened my understanding but also ignited a newfound passion within me. I found myself fully immersed in the subject matter, with the provided resources proving invaluable, and the flexibility to learn at my own pace greatly enhancing my experience.  The hands-on projects were undeniably the highlight of the program for me. They provided practical experiences that I know will be instrumental in my future endeavours. Being able to apply theoretical concepts to real-world scenarios not only enhanced my problem-solving skills but also boosted my confidence in my abilities.  Furthermore, I was deeply impressed by the unwavering support and mentorship provided by the instructors. Their passion for teaching was evident in every interaction, and their willingness to go above and beyond to ensure our success was truly commendable. In conclusion, I extend my deepest thanks to the entire team behind the Data Science and Machine Learning program for their dedication and commitment to empowering learners like myself.

The comprehensive course structure seamlessly integrates video lectures, guided projects, and mentored learning sessions, facilitating a deep understanding and practical application of each topic on real-life datasets. Weekly video lectures provide clear explanations, while quizzes ensure retention and comprehension. The culmination of learning is seen in three substantial projects that consolidate knowledge and skills. However, the mandatory nature and fixed timing of mentored learning sessions occasionally posed challenges, requiring compromises with other responsibilities. Despite this, the sessions proved instrumental in achieving academic success, as they directly contributed to overall marks and provided invaluable guidance and support from mentors.

Mid 2023, I shared with a friend a keen desire to take my data analytics skills to a new level having mastered Ms Excel as an advanced user, Power BI DAX, SQL and also did some programming in Python. He recommended MIT Data Science and Machine Learning offered by Great Learning. I enrolled with the full knowledge that I was starting an amazing journey of learning with recognised academic professors and industry experts. The perfect blend of theory with practice was an awesome recipe for mastery. I would say I have hone my skills incredibly in the predictive power of data. The training exposed me to the endless possibilities and power of data, processed with the right tools and domain knowledge to achieve:
 the right classification
provide continuous quantity prediction through linear regression,
how recommendation system helps business personalise products and services for their customers
the incredible power of neural networks in the fields of image recognition, speech recognition, natural language processing, etc. There were lots of hands-on exercises and projects to solidify and reinforce learning. I particularly love the feedbacks I got from the project assessments. They testify to the keen attention to details by the Faculty at Great Learning to the growth and development of their students. I got loads of reusable codes which will be invaluable in my next projects. I will conclude my saying, I am well equiped and well placed to advance my skills from here and secure a job as a Data Scientist, as a I seek a career pivot. I will not forget to offer a big shoot-out to the great support and prompt response from their amazing team of program managers. Awesome team.

I’m very pleased with great learning syllabus and material. Program manager snd faculties are just awesome, they all are very helpful. Overall I found the teaching facilities have a great experience and knowledge. I will not hesitate to recommend to my friends and family as well as in future I may take other courses as well.  

I am excited I participated in this 12-week course on No Code AI and Machine Learning: Building Data Science Solutions by MIT Professional Education. This comprehensive training has equipped me with the latest insights and skills for designing any solution, predicting datasets for solutions, and more. Through this program, I gained valuable knowledge and skills in harnessing the power of artificial intelligence and machine learning to design solutions. 

The course is not for everyone, though you do learn a lot and esp. Python (which was the main reason I wanted to learn), this course is great for people who have experience with coding.  I have a graduate degree in Health focused Informatics/Information Management.  This was a challenging course.  You do learn a lot, it takes up lots of your time and it will take 3 months (or a little more) to finish the program and except to do 18-20+ hours/week for a person who has no programing experience.  Is it worth it and will it help? The answer: it depends.  If you are not in healthcare and you want to learn about AI and coding and what it can do and how to use Python then Absolutely take this course! For myself, I took this course to have better understanding on how to use Python (though in the medical world SQL is what they use).  I wanted to have a better grasp on coding and this course delivered.
