UX Design Institute is an accredited online UX design program that offers intensive 6-month or 12-month courses, resulting in a Professional Diploma in UX Design from the Glasgow Caledonian University. Courses cover UX principles, user research, analysis frameworks, interaction design, prototyping, and wireframing. The courses are delivered entirely online with video modules and regular mentor-led webinars. Each course has a dedicated mentor, all of which are UX professionals with years of industry experience. Students create several projects throughout their time in the program with the aim of enhancing their prospects in the job market. The programs conclude with a 2-hour exam required to receive the Diploma.
UX Design Institute applicants don’t need experience in design or technology to enroll. Having one or both may help you advance, but the program was created with beginners in mind. Students are admitted on a case-by-case basis after a consultation with one of UDI’s Education Advisors. Applicants fill out an online form after which someone from the UX design institute will follow up to discuss enrollment. Critical factors in the initial discussion will be prior applicable skills, commitment to the program, and proficiency in English – all course communications are in English. After an applicant has been accepted, they can begin.
UX Design Institute works with an Industry Advisory Council which includes companies like Dell, Slack, Mastercard, SAP, and Virgin Media. The advisory board ensures that courses are continually updated with the skills students need to make them relevant in the job market. Alumni have gone on to work with companies like Amazon, Airbnb, Uber, and Google.

As someone in the States, I would have appreciated a bit more guidance though on landing a job in competitive areas as I've been struggling to find a job post graduation. Some programs offer a tuition reimbursement if you can't land a UX job, and I would have liked to see that option given how difficult it can be to land your first UX role. Initially I was not sure if this would provide me with the value I needed, and was cautious about investing in the course, especially as it was a fair amount of money to spend.
I have to say though, that the course was very high quality.
The modules covered all areas of the UX Design process, included engaging video modules, blogs, articles and lots of references to external content and publications.
Many modules included hands-on projects, which really did cement the learning and give you brilliant content for your portfolio.
The team are always on hand to answer any questions and are very responsive too.
The course really has strengthened my UX design skills hugely and increased my confidence in what I can deliver for my clients.
I've gained several projects already due to this.

While I found the research and analysis modules especially rewarding, I was also greatly inspired by everything I learned throughout the course. The modules encompass many aspects of our jobs as designers and researchers, creating a solid knowledge base and practical skills for becoming better at what we do and understanding how everything interconnects.
I'd also like to highlight the recurring webinars for each content block. Watching experts demonstrate and review real-world examples was affirming and inspiring when I was uncertain about solving tasks. This support, combined with the student success team's availability for questions and the collaborative Slack community of fellow students sharing progress, was incredibly valuable for my success.
I've already applied much of the theory and practical skills I learned from this course in my job, and I frequently reference my notes and project portfolio.

While the course heavily relies on external articles(resources), having written handouts...I successfully completed the UX Design fundamental course at the UX Design Institute, expanding my understanding of UX alongside my Front-End developer profession. While the course heavily relies on external articles(resources), having written handouts would enhance inclusivity for different learning preferences. Some individuals learn quickly through either watching or reading. The self-paced structure and flexible exam scheduling were advantageous, though some exam questions felt unrelated to the video content, making them very difficult to answer(It is ambiguous). Overall, I am happy!
Pros:- The instructor demonstrated a profound understanding of UX Design, delivering an exceptional and amazing presentation.
- The team exhibited a friendly and communicative style, responding promptly with a positive attitude (Slack + Email).
Cons:- The exam covered topics not addressed in the modules, emphasizing the importance of reviewing those external articles and the UX glossary. I strongly recommend everyone to read them all.
- The video player lacked an auto-continuous play function and airplay mode, consistently defaulting to lower video quality despite a high-speed internet connection.

I enrolled in the Professional Diploma course to specialize in UX, having a rough understanding of some concepts. Despite a difficult and delayed start for personal reasons, I was able to quickly catch up on the program later at my own cadence and...I enrolled in the Professional Diploma course to specialize in UX, having a rough understanding of some concepts. Despite a difficult and delayed start for personal reasons, I was able to quickly catch up on the program later at my own cadence and successfully completed the course at a quicker pace. The videos are captivating and really easy to follow and remember. A ton of day-to-day examples help understand the concepts developed in the videos. The project work is straight forward, although quite intense when you try to do it seriously. Don't underestimate the time it will take, but it's definitely great learning! I was self-sufficient working with the project instructions and the webinars (both are needed), I rarely needed assistance. It was great to have access to the session replays, as the timing wasn't always compatible with family schedules. I was very hesitant to enroll on a fully online course, but the UX Design Institute made it really easy and smooth!
