I do like the interactive platform that gives you tasks to solve, and generally you won't be able to move on to the next section before completing the current task. There is also a "sandbox" area that's not required, but it gives you an opportunity to practice your skills further. I also appreciate that they give us projects to complete to add to our github/ resume. It's my understanding that these projects are vital to getting a job after we graduate. I also do appreciate that they set up a Slack Community for each section of the bootcamp you're in. There are tutors available to answer any of your questions if you ever get stuck on a problem, or need help with your project. Their knowledge is very valuable. I like that they often don't give you the answers right away, and it challenges you to think critically about solving the problem. An online bootcamp that prepares it's students for careers in data science.
The bootcamp is fully online with what I think is great UI. There are always experts on hand via slack that will help out as soon as possible. There are also zoom workshop days on the weekends where one of the experts will break down the material learned in the week in an open forum setting. There are also channel managers that are always helping run the organization to its fullest potential.

The bootcamp is broken into sprints which are further broken down into modules. Each sprint is meticulously created to have you learn skills and then build upon those skills repeatedly. The modules further break down those sprints into a more digestible format, each one with mini quizzes at the end so you can implement what you just learned.
There are projects at the end of each sprint which you can display on your Github to create your portfolio. So far this year I have 6 projects in my Github!
Practicum also provides an extensive post-bootcamp career course. This includes but isnt limited to interview prep, resume formation, LinkedIn formatting and portfolio building. Also if you dont find a job in I believe 3 months after you graduate they will provide you with a full refund.

The program is very well structured and is well paced for a programming novice such as myself.
The program uses Slack as a community to interact with your colleagues and tutors. I must admit the response time from the tutors were much better in the first half of the program as opposed to the second half. If I ever got stuck during the first half I could post a question and it would usually be answered within an hour. During the second half it sometimes takes until the next day to get an answer. This can sometimes be quite frustrating if you can't figure out the problem in your code and cannot progress any further until you get the help you are looking for. But that can be expected as you are supposed to be able to troubleshoot more on your own as the course progresses.
My favorite aspect of this program is the flexibility that it provides. I have fallen behind schedule a few times since starting the course due to work constraints. However, I have never had an issue discussing the matter with my course manager and then moving to a new cohort. All the staff has been very supportive. I suggested this course to my co-worker as I was getting started and he has joined as well and has also greatly enjoyed the course. I highly recommend this course to any working professional that needs a flexible program to be able to learn on their own schedule.

It's a fairly complicated course, certainly something that is going to take a lot of effort to complete, and sometimes it feels more complicated than it needs to be. But, aside from that, it feels very well in-depth and goes over a lot of related subjects that makes me feel confident about my ability to be job ready. The program is quite extensive. It covers a wide range of topics, including how to manage your time and resources, developer roles and functions, and an in-depth look at your career path as a developer. Practicum has their own custom platform for reading each lesson and practicing code. It’s quite engaging and well structured.
It’s divided into sections called sprints. Each sprint includes a project that puts your newly acquired knowledge to the test. They are intriguingly difficult, but you are never alone; your tutor is always available to help you when you need it.
Practicum has an online student guide that contains insightful information as well as literally everything you need to know about their program. Study planning, sprint schedules, recordings of live coding webinars and career conferences, extracurriculars such as Apiary, Code Jams, Senior Student Opportunities; student perks, and more.
Deadlines are given for completing each section, and the time allotted is reasonable. When your code is reviewed and passed, you will feel a sense of accomplishment. I must say that the code reviewers are first-rate, and they ensure that your code meets industry standards.
I went into the course thinking I knew enough about CSS and HTML and couldn't wait to get started on the JavaScript portion of the course, but I couldn't have been more wrong. To put it another way, the methodologies taught clarified and reinforced everything I thought I knew.
When it comes to the community, let's be honest: people will be busy at times. However, the practicum community managers have always responded quickly, and the web tutors are always eager to assist. It makes no difference whether they are assigned to your cohort or not. I messaged about 5 Tutors privately at one point, and they all responded within 48 hours. On the same day, one of them had a conference call with me.
It is always difficult to learn new material. The most important takeaway from this Bootcamp is that you can always ask for help if you get stuck. You may be in a cohort where the students are not as engaging, but the staff always ensures that the conversations continue.
Every week, they have something called coworking hours on the Slack channel. Every day, a Web Tutor is assigned to conduct a live conference call to answer any questions. I mean anything, regardless of the sprint or project you're working on. There is also something called Code Jam, which happens a few times a year. You get to work with students from all over the world to build a project. You will also have the opportunity to work on real-world projects with an established tech company before graduating. It is incorporated into the curriculum, but it is entirely optional.
The program is rather lengthy, but it is worthwhile once completed. Those who focus on the negatives are overreaching. Having said that, it's only been four months and I've met every deadline, I'm not burnt out, and I've never been left hanging. Amazing experience so far

Also, there is a very responsive community on slack that supports any question in minutes (no matter the day of the week you have an issue, always there is someone who helps).
Overall a super good experience so far. Hopefully, I will be able to pass the JS path. I recommend you to check some online free introductory videos to understand the logic behind JS before starting with the Practicum BootCamp. I'm sure it will help you.

I've been learning software development on my own for some time, however, after about 4 months on the Practicum bootcamp I've realised that doing a few courses and practice projects is no substitute for a well thought out, rigorous course of study with progressively more challenging projects and detailed feedback - which is exactly what Practicum provides.
The course is longer than other bootcamps I've seen (10 months) so I expected a pretty leisurely pace, but this is not the cas...I've been learning software development on my own for some time, however, after about 4 months on the Practicum bootcamp I've realised that doing a few courses and practice projects is no substitute for a well thought out, rigorous course of study with progressively more challenging projects and detailed feedback - which is exactly what Practicum provides.
The course is longer than other bootcamps I've seen (10 months) so I expected a pretty leisurely pace, but this is not the case at all. There is a lot of study material (with practice problems) to cover in each sprint, and then onto a project. At first I thought 2-3 weeks per sprint would be too long, and I'd be left waiting for new material to be released, but now I know I need to be on the ball, finish the studying and get onto the project ASAP. Some of these projects are very challenging, and I've taken up to 40 hours to complete one of them.
In short - this bootcamp is no joke! You need to commit hard to it. The upshot of that is I have learned an amazing amount. By the end of the first 3 months, I realised that given designs and assets for a website, I can build it out. I'm only one month into the JS portion of the bootcamp, but I can already see a similar fluency beginning to develop. This bootcamp is designed to turn you into a job-ready developer and I absolutely believe that's exactly what it does - this is reinforced by the fact that I regularly see posts from recent graduates announcing getting jobs in the industry.
Practicum is awesome, basically. Great value for what it provides, great (and super helpful) tutors. I'm learning new skills that I can actually use, and getting a 'lot' of practice of writing real code in real projects. While I am just starting with the career accelerator portion of the program (optional), I believe that Practicum will help anyone determined to find a good job by helping with resume prep, interview skills, and soft skills. Indeed, during the 9 months the program integrates soft skills with the technical skills so one should feel well prepared for finding an entry level job at graduation.
Initially, the program will guide you every step of the way through the learning materials. As things progress, your tutors will emphasize that you need to start investigating the documentation to find the answers. I believe this mirrors the real world, where your employers will expect you to research things before you ask for help.
Overall, a great program that has given me skills and knowledge. I am very grateful for the opportunity to learn from practicum.

This course helps students prepare for the grueling interview process. There are so many different aspects that data scientist candidates have to put together for an interview. This includes a GitHub page, portfolio, LinkedIn, and even possibly a website. Practicum by Yandex leads you through this process and answers any and all questions you may have. I bought the intro web development course for $50 and it was absolutely worth the money. It solidified my decision to buy the full course. The staff is super helpful and communicative and the lessons are engaging. I went into it knowing some HTML and CSS basics, but not knowing any JavaScript. My only issue was that the JavaScript portion went a bit fast for me, so it might be a good idea to do a little bit of learning on your own first before buying the full course. Affordable, Unique and Enjoyable
I was looking for an online bootcamp to further improve my skillset as a visual communicator (a.k.a. a graphic designer but more) and stumbled upon Practicum. Previously, I was looking at another potential online program which charged a crazy amount of money to learn what I'm planning to learn through Practicum--web development. Previously, I was looking at another potential online program which charged a crazy amount of money to learn what I'm planning to learn through Practicum--web development. I ultimately went with Practicum because it offers the opportunity to try it out for two weeks (for less than $100) to see if it was the right fit and the price was more reasonable.
I decided to try it out for the two weeks and absolutely enjoyed the lessons. The majority of it is self-taught with opportunities to ask either your mentor or classmates for help on a social networking site called Slack (which is arranged like Facebook groups for businesses). The curriculum doesn't bog you down with lengthy descriptions and is easy to understand. The lessons get straight to the point without unnecessary fluff and then immerses you straight into a lesson which you have the chance to apply what you've learnt.
The mentors are very personable and are there for you for any questions you have about the program and lessons. It is emphasized that you're not alone in this journey through the program and there are people that want to help.
I really love the program so far and it allows me to improve my problem-solving skills when beginning to code. I honestly find it hard to stop going through lessons because I'm having so much fun. I'm looking forward to starting the full program in a couple of weeks!
