Frontend Simplified

I recently finished the Frontend Simplified course, and overall it was a solid learning experience, but there are a few things I think people should know before signing up.The course does a really good job breaking down things like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React in a way that actually makes sense. I liked that it’s not just videos, you’re building projects along the way, which helped me understand how things work in a real-world setting.That said, the price is definitely something to think about. Around $10,000 is a lot, especially when there are other options out there. It might be worth it for some people, but it’s not an easy investment.I also ran into some delays getting help in the mentor section. When I got stuck, it sometimes took longer than I expected to get a response, which slowed me down. Because of that and just trying to really understand everything, it ended up taking me about 16 weeks to finish instead of the expected 12.Overall, I did learn a lot and feel more confident in frontend development, but between the cost and the slower support at times, I think it’s important to go in with realistic expectations. I was completely nervous to switch careers especially into a field I have no experience or knowledge in, but the modules and lessons are made in a way that make it very digestible and easy to follow along. It also feels like your learning the lessons at a good pace too. The courses don't give you fluff and really teach you exactly need to know. I highly recommend if you are looking to actually learn a new skill and change careers within a short period.  Read less

Mentors are easy to get ahold of, super helpful and friendly. FES is constantly updating course materials to keep them current, which gives me peace of mind for a quickly evolving field. I love being able to work entirely at my own pace and having no time restrictions on when you can get help, so that you can always keep moving and do your best work when it fits your lifestyle. FES Institute has been nothing but helpful towards my CS journey. A year ago I was and still am working at this retail job and I truly hate working like this and decided to change. I really enjoyed working through the Treact project. The curriculum is well organized, and the frontend implementation expectations are clear from the start. It felt like working on a real development task rather than just following along with tutorials. I started FES with very basic self taught skills and immediately the lessons had you coding right along with them as you learn which is a great way to learn in my case. They go over industry best practices as well as teaching other ways incase you happen across them in the field. The 24/7 access to mentors is amazing and you can either chat or video conference them by setting up a call which is awesome. The team is extremely nice and very knowledgeable and quick to respond usually within 5 minutes. I am currently at the interview practice part of the course and am surprised already in the short amount of time how much I retained skill wise. I had absolutely no coding knowledge prior to starting this program. I have learned so much these last few months and Frontend Simplified is overall a well-designed program. The videos can frequently get pretty fast-paced making it hard to keep up at times, but each section closes with projects to help get you used to working on your own and figuring things out with the help of the previous videos and even googling. The projects are where I feel I’ve learned the most. The 24/7 mentorship support has been pretty excellent and helpful with me. Every mentor I’ve pursued help from has seemed really kind and patient with me. I have asked for help from them on multiple occasions and I don’t think I’ve ever had to wait more than 5 minutes before a mentor responds to my question or need in the chat. Overall, I love coding and learning from Frontend Simplified and I love what I am hopefully heading towards when I complete this program!! Read less

The crew has been very patient and helpful with me, even though I am not a natural student in this industry, and I have had to deal with personal setbacks in my academic process. They have been the best overall experience. The mentors answer every question in a way that makes it seem so simple. I get an answer anytime I need one and the modules are very easy to follow along with. It's so much information but they make it so you're not overwhelmed. You can easily find your way back to whatever topic you're stuck on if you need a refresher. They give you plenty of resources so make sure you use them all to your advantage to help you get through it. Read less

Before joining this program, I was about a year postpartum and not working yet, but I knew I needed to prepare myself to get back into the workforce. I only had basic knowledge of HTML and CSS, and I didn’t want to go back to just any regular job. I wanted to build a real skill that could grow with me long-term and still allow me to be present as a mother.One of the things I appreciated most about the program was the flexibility. As a busy mom, being able to learn on my own schedule made a huge difference. The program also pushes you to actually build projects, which helped me see what I’m capable of.That being said, it wasn’t easy. Learning JavaScript was definitely challenging, and there were times when I felt stuck that slowed me down during projects. The most difficult part was working on outside projects where you have to figure things out more independently. But, that’s also where the most growth happened.Now, I can build projects using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React, and even work with APIs. I’m still learning and improving every day, but seeing what I can create now compared to where I started is amazing. Coding is something that constantly evolves, so I know this is a skill I’ll continue growing in.I would recommend this program to anyone who has a passion for creating and is willing to push through challenges. It’s beginner-friendly, but you have to be ready to problem-solve and stay consistent.If you’re feeling unsure, I would say this: visualize the outcome. Ask yourself if you’re willing to work through the tough, frustrating moments—even when it takes time to figure things out. Because if you stick with it, the results are worth it.This program also helped shift my mindset. It showed me that if you truly want to learn something, you can—no matter where you’re starting from. Frontend Simplified has been incredibly engaging and educational! The self-paced approach allows me the flexibility to learn and study when I have free time. The mentors are supportive, knowledgeable, friendly, and very punctual. I received clear, instructional, and encouraging feedback for my project reviews, showing how the mentor team really wants the students to succeed. The iterative approach of learning culminates in challenging but approachable projects to utilize your new skills and expand on them. I have been in this course since December and I have learned alot and have grown alot in my development and knowledge of coding, css, and javascript. Frontend Simplified is a great way to familiarize yourself with frontend development, not only with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, but also with React and Node. I had some experience with the basics of frontend development, which helped me breeze through the first few modules, but when I got further into the class, I ended up learning way more than I knew about React, Node, Firebase, and api. The mentors are very quick to respond to questions and help where needed and communicate well. The course is easy to follow and shows several tips and tricks. The lessons are short and in-depth to understand the individual uses for each language. The projects are easy to follow and welcoming as a new person to coding.  Read less

Frontend Simplified has been a great experience so far. One thing that really stands out compared to a lot of other coding programs is the level of support they offer. They have mentors available to answer questions, and there are live classes that are also recorded so you can rewatch them whenever you need. That’s been really helpful when trying to fully understand certain concepts.

They also focus a lot on helping students get job-ready, not just teaching coding. The program includes help with building a portfolio, resume and LinkedIn reviews, interview preparation, and other career readiness support. There are also code reviews and coaching sessions that help keep you on track and improving.

Another feature I appreciated is their job-guarantee policy. If you complete the program and meet the job-search requirements but don’t land a developer job within 12 months, they offer a full refund. That said, there are requirements involved—you have to complete the coursework, attend coaching sessions, and consistently apply to developer jobs (around 30 per week) while documenting your applications.

Overall, my experience so far has been positive. I haven’t finished the program yet, so I can’t speak to the final outcome, but the mentorship, structure, and career support have been really encouraging.
