Freemote

I came across Aarons YouTube channel in the summer, after starting to teach myself HTML on code academy. Saw his video and I was intrigued. Found Freemote and I thought why not give it ago. And wow, is it worth it, the structure of the program is amazing, Aaron and Jan are really good at explaining and teaching. They can make everything that looks hard from the outside look quite easy once they explain it.

I've already managed to land myself my first client on UpWork building a shopify store from scratch! 

Really looking forward to where this new career can take me.   

I have been trying to learn web development since the beginning of this year, nearly gave up in the middle of it.
My mistake was that I had a scope of skills that was too broad ( full stack development ).
Then I tried to narrow it to just the front end using React but it was still very challenging. Just building a simple chat app took me 3 weeks.
After that, I said screw it let’s join freemote, once I had a portfolio of projects I started to send proposals and I got my first gig just after 10 days of joining the program which was translating a website, currently I managed to get a second one.

I truly believe this is your fastest route to become a web developer!

So my name is Avery, and I first started the course with literally 0 software development skills. After getting through the basics of the course with the frontend languages, I dove into Shopify, and I fell in love. Since then I have become a full time remote freelance Shopify Developer and make over double what I did at my 9-5. If you have the drive to complete this course, and the willingness to put yourself out there, you WILL succeed. I finished the course in around 2 months and left my job in 3. I don't feel like a special case, or some superhuman, I was just determined. If you're serious, and I mean really serious, this course can and will change your life. 

As the title suggests, I came into Freemote with little to no coding experience.  In a month and a half since I started the course, I've been hired for 6 jobs on Upwork. I've gotten THREE 5-star reviews on Upwork. 2 jobs are still in progress, so no reviews for those yet.

It's been such an amazing journey. Aaron and Jan do a fantastic job of explaining the concepts required to get a sprinting head start into the world of freelance, specifically within the Shopify niche as a front-end/platform developer, among other skills (such as SEO, store migration, store setup, 3rd party app integration, and more).

I do have to add a caveat in regards to this course. However, I think this caveat applies to any endeavor in any field: what it comes down to is what you put into it. If you just passively watch all the videos and don't do any of the work involved, then I can't say this course is for you. Aaron and Jan show the way, and they're top-notch at it, but you have to put in the work.

I hope that was helpful, and I wish all the best for those who decide to take the course! If you're willing to work hard, you won't regret it. At least, that has been my own personal experience so far, and I feel as though I'm only at the very beginning of this journey.

Aaron and Jan, have done an awesome job providing concise information on how to get started freelancing in a very specific way. This course is exactly what I was looking for when one of the Freemote ads "found" it's way to me. I had been helping a business owner with her Shopify store on the side, and was told about the demand for developers/experts needed for this kind of work. Having decided to start going through the platforms docs I felted I needed to find a way to cut through the "excess" material. About two weeks later I saw the ad through Faceook/Google. When I say Freemote is exactly what I was looking for, I mean it. These guys give plenty of projects for you to touch everything, but also help to dig deep into the niche. Watch some of the ads, and know this is very specific to Shopify and Freelancing. To Aaron and Jan, thanks for EVERYTHING you guys are doing awesome!

This course is a phenomenal value. I'd been trying to teach myself programming for the last five or six years, using udemy courses, youtube, freeCodeCamp, etc... and every time I would set it down for years or months because I couldn't figure out what exactly I should be doing and it was too hard to do everything by myself. While I'm not yet finished with the program, I can honestly say it's given me everything that's been missing from my previous attempts at self-teaching:

• Personal interaction and community support
• A clear, step-by-step learning path 
• Straightforward yet challenging course content that's constantly being improved and tweaked.

Make no mistake, this is definitely a self-paced and challenging program. But there are so many opportunities to be in contact with peers and instructors who are taking the same journey that it doesn't ever feel like you're stuck doing any of this difficult work alone. I'd recommend this course to anyone who is motivated and curious about web development (specifically, front end development for ecommerce). It is worth every penny and then some!

Course is great, what I like about it the most is it's pragmatic money making oriented approach. You can probably learn how to code in a lot of other places, but there you not only learn how to code but most importantly how to get money out of what you learn and how to be self-reliant freelancer. Also I love about this course that it gets a lot of updates from it's creators. So whenever they get the idea that some part of this course can be better they just make it better. I bought this course in march and currently I have access to features and videos that wasn't there when I was buying. I would say this course is very time efficient and for determined persons that will listen to advices it will be perfect.

I love Freemote's clear and concise video instructions and learning materials which is very important to me.  I appreciate the amount of time and effort Aaron Jack and Jan Frey has put into to making this a great learning experience for beginning coders.  I especially love how the material is broken down to simple and  easy to understand language.  Prior to finding Freemote I had looked at well over 100 coding boot camps and Universities but I found  that Freemote has a unique approach to becoming a software engineer but more specifically a freelancer!

In case you don't wanna read all of this, I didn't finish the Freemote course yet... BUT I did already get a paid job. So I can honestly say my impulse purchase of Freemote was a great choice

Anyway, maybe like you, I learn about Freemote after seeing this guy Aaron Jack in ads claiming I was learning to code the wrong way. It caught my attention and made sense. Anyway next thing I knew I was pulling out my credit card and praying this would work. 

Anyway I'm writing this review because I actually landed a paid job after 5 weeks inside. As soon as week 4 they already have you making a profile and reaching out (which I thought was crazy) But they say there are some damn simple beginner level jobs out there (that more experienced people ignore) and they're actually right. Pretty much everyone I saw who was public about their progress landed a job soon after. I'm not sure what stats they have on this but based on what I saw in the Facebook group it's gotta be a crazy good success rate.

The point is what they teach works, BUT you actually have to do it. There is not a ton of hand holding, and the course doesn't magically make learning to code easier. But it does give you the confidence you need (which I definitely didn't have) to know what exactly to do get the outcome that they say. That part is 100% true.

 I absolutely loved the Freemote Shopify development program! The course is incredibly well-organized, thorough, and complete. From start to finish, it provides a clear and structured path that makes learning Shopify development straightforward and accessible, even if you're new to e-commerce. The lessons are comprehensive, covering everything from the basics to advanced topics, and the curriculum is laid out in a way that allows you to build real-world skills at your own pace. I highly recommend this program to anyone serious about mastering Shopify development! 

I just finished SQL with Python module in the nucamp course. The course content is very comprehensive and it gives you a huge platform to start your learning from scratch even if you have any previous experience! It was more personal than I expected for an online course. The instructors are great and very talented. You can reach out to them any time, even late in the night or early in the morning. They are a great talented team, that helps us no matter time or topic. Every step of the course kept me motivated to learn more every day and was covered with enough tough concepts to keep me challenged. Also, there is a huge of information covered in a short period of time, though, but I'm sure with all that help covered, you can make it too!
