Challenging and Beneficial
DevCode Camp offers an excellent learning environment that comes with challenges designed to teach you relevant skills in a timely manner. They also will work with your scheduling. I took the full stack flex program. It's a flexible option that allowed me to continue my current job while learning a new skill all while at home. Their financing options are great as well. Highly recommend this boot camp if you're wanting to learn tech skills.
Before devCode Camp, I had zero experience in coding. The program is challenging to say the least, however, it is absolutely do-able for all walks of life. Now I'm working with the Carrer Services group at dCC and it's been very helpful and I have hopes of finding a software position soon.

Amazing Experience
From the application process of enrolling, through the courses, into the career services, everyone that I interacted with within devCodeCamp was nothing but professional and helpful! They answered all my questions in full and continue to answer questions as they arise. If I had to do this all over again, I definitely would choose devCodeCamp as my go to place!
At the start of my processes it seemed like everyone and their brother had a bootcamp. Through the application process and on-boarding the whole staff at devCodeCamp were so helpful getting you off on the right foot. The best but most rigorous course I have ever taken!

I thank them so much for being patient, understanding, and providing great leadership throughout the complete journey of my new career.

Hello everyone! As a recent graduate of devCodeCamp, I want to share my amazing journey of growth and learning. Coming from Omaha, NE, I was always captivated by technology's impact on our world. To enhance my skills and pursue a career in web development, I joined devCodeCamp's Full Stack Web Development Certificate program.
devCodeCamp provided a well-structured and comprehensive curriculum that kept up with industry trends. From the start, hands-on projects immersed me in real-world scenarios, allowing me to apply my knowledge practically. The instructors were not only highly knowledgeable but also approachable and supportive.
During the program, I gained proficiency in Python, Django, React.js, and other essential tools. Each project presented unique coding challenges that nurtured my creativity and problem-solving abilities. The program also equipped me with valuable skills in version control, API testing, and database management.
devCodeCamp's career services were invaluable in our transition to professionals. They offered resume and interview preparation, job search strategies, and networking opportunities. The team's guidance and industry connections helped me secure interviews and job offers. Even after graduation, they continue to support my career development.
The program also emphasized project management using Jira and deployment on AWS Amplify and Elastic Beanstalk. These experiences provided me with essential skills for agile development and deployment. I am thrilled to keep learning, exploring new technologies, and making a positive impact in the programming world.
My experience at devCodeCamp has fueled my passion for software development. The hands-on approach and real-world projects have sharpened my skills and prepared me for the industry. I am excited to embrace new challenges, contribute to innovative projects, and continue my growth in this dynamic field.

I did some research and decided on devCodeCamp. I spoke to one of their onboarding staff and she did a wonderful job assisting me in realizing that Data Analysis was the path I needed to take! She helped me through the entire process of signing up, and getting financial aid, and encouraged me since I was really nervous! I had NEVER coded or done much tech-related before!! As a student at devCodeCamp I was completely impressed at how the curriculum was laid out and the flexibility the entire course had. Each week you have lectures and demos to watch as well as written documents that explain everything and provide examples. You then get to put all of that to work in various labs, problems, and projects. Anytime you have a question you have access to the instructors via Slack and they will be there quickly to help you out! The instructors give you feedback using modern tools such as a recording of themselves explaining the issue you are having, or they hop into a Zoom meeting with you. They can even port into your computer and work on a solution together with you!!! If you are considering enrolling, do your research, read the reviews and I feel that you will reach the same conclusion that I did! devCodeCamp has been an awesome experience and I am very happy with the results! They were able to take someone like me who has never coded before, and teach them how to code, go through the whole process as a Data Analyst and complete many projects and end up with a 4.0 at graduation!! When you graduate, they also have Career Services who will guide you through writing your resume, LinkedIn, and any other tools to help you be successful in finding your first tech job!! The instructors and staff at devCodeCamp are very professional, kind, supportive, and amazing at what they do!!! I can't recommend them enough!! I now have a bright future ahead of me, being able to do something I love and having complete confidence in knowing that I will be successful because of the knowledge and skills I have learned at devCodeCamp.!!

I started at devCodeCamp during the last few months of my sixth year teaching public school music--May of 2022. The teaching profession had changed pretty dramatically with the outbreak of covid, and as result, I began looking for better ways to provide for my wife and two children. When I started the bootcamp I was teaching, coordinating concerts, making lesson plans and carving out as much time as possible for Python and JavaScript. After a lot of research and soul searching, I made the decision to go with devCodeCamp for a few reasons: 1) They had the most flexible timeline for completion out of all the camps I looked at. 2) Their price was quite reasonable, relative to other camps I had looked at.3) They had a thorough and rigorous curriculum--including a devOps unit to help get projects deployed--many other camps didn’t offer devOps. 4) They had great reviews and great employment outcomes. As a graduate now looking back, I genuinely feel devCodeCamp was the right place for me. The content was challenging, rigorous and overwhelming at times, but every week I would get on a call with my instructors and they would help me untie the knots I inadvertently put in my code and get me back on the right track. I even received support on several occasions on weekends even though instructors had no obligation to help me till Monday. They were/are invested in their students. I was also extremely grateful for the flexible timeline that allowed me to continue to provide for my family and to learn at a pace that worked best for me. Sometimes I finished the unit and the assignments but felt that my grasp of the content was still somewhat nebulous so I would spend another week or so on that content cleaning up the code or doing the bonus project to make sure I really understood the content and was actually ready to move on to the next set of concepts. This flexibility combined with my instructors willingness to meet me where I was made a huge difference for me. In addition, building my capstone--a meal planning grocery list app--was probably the most fulfilling and challenging part of the experience. The process of sending a proposal, writing user stories, using a kanban workflow, and receiving weekly accountability really helped to set me up for success. I came away from the experience excited to build more applications and add more functionality to the one I had just built. My wife and I actually use my app for our grocery bi-weekly shopping. The career services unit has likewise been excellent. I landed a job as a QA early on in the bootcamp by networking, but I am still working toward landing a coding job and there are numerous things I wouldn’t have known about resumes, cover letters or LinkedIn if not for the well made content they provided. The few cons I can think of with devCodeCamp are that some of the video lectures are long and somewhat abstract until after you have done the project. You may want to either watch them after completing the assignments or review them after completing the projects so the information has more meaning. There may also be times where your instructor won’t know how to solve a problem or says not to worry about an error message because the overall application still works. My advice with that is to take such times as a challenge to dig deeper and learn something new about the software that even your instructor doesn’t know. Changing careers and learning to code is not for the faint of heart, but if you are sure you like coding, feel ready to be humbled, and are genuinely committed, devCodeCamp is a great place to do it.

When I started this tech journey. I had never did coding in my life before. To tell the truth I didn't even know what was coding was really was. But dev Code Camp took me as a none coder to someone that know how to code. The instructors was very help when helping me. I took their flex full stack program. So it was much harder for me to get going since I never done it before. But the instructors took their time and help me understand the problems that I was having.

Truth be told, I almost did not finish on two specific occasions due to what was going on and the struggle to understand the material because of my own limitations. Thankfully, the instructors are very good about checking in and supporting the students. There were many adjustments to the resources and my main one on one instructor was particularly good about helping in our sessions find the best ways for me to catch up and understand what I needed to do. Likewise as the projects became more complex, the rest of the instructors offered a great deal of help "filling in the blanks" so I could finish and succeed in the camp. I was thankful for the empathy and effort put forth, and it led to a great deal of enjoyment with this new field. I am hopeful looking ahead to a job in this industry because of my experience at dCC. Definitely weigh if coding and coding bootcamps are the right leap for you to take, but if you choose to take it, dCC is the place to be.

The curriculum is set up well, but I think it might be a little lacking compared to other software development bootcamps, because we only focused on one specific tech stack. That being said, after being walked through the process of building and deploying a full stack application, I feel comfortable trying to build with other tech stacks on my own. I don't think this boot camp makes you job ready, but it puts you on track to keep learning independently until you are ready. I would recommend devCodeCamp if you need to fit learning into your work schedule, but also want to have a personal relationship with instructors and classmates.

Before coming to devCodeCamp, I had 8 years of varied experience in the IT sector, with small dabblings in C, C++, and a variety of topics before I found that self-teaching without any prior basis in the topic was an intense struggle for me. So, I began weighing my options for educational assistance.
I found that a bootcamp course would probably be my best option. I pursued a number of different bootcamp courses, some were okay, some were very bad, but devCodeCamp seemed on the level.
And, initially, it went great. Their introduction, featuring python, was wonderful and I took to it like a fish to water. Concepts like Object Oriented Programming and Algorithms were taught, live, with an instructor and it was exactly what I expected. It went absolutely great, and the instructor was very helpful. Inheritance, SQL, database concepts, ORM querying, and many projects went swimmingly. 5 stars.
And then, in the 4th week, on day 17, there was a sudden and drastic shift. It started with the Django REST framework: suddenly, the instructor live sessions ceased and we were left watching tutorial videos in order to teach us the concepts. Now, while these videos could be argued to be far more on topic with the task on hand, I did not plan on paying thousands of dollars for content I could find on youtube. This kind of self-taught approach is good for those already out in the field, but I strongly felt that I was not ready for this, and it was not what I was looking for in a structured learning environment. This, I feel, was much better suited for a more self-paced learning environment.
And my grades reflected this. While not terrible, it was clear I was struggling with this particular method. It wasn't a show stopper, I muscled through it, and, for a while, things went back to the way they were. We picked up JavaScript, HTML, and CSS utilizing the old method, and I hoped that was just a bump.
It wasn't.
React.js was introduced with another slew of tutorial videos, and it was absolute hell. And whenever I inevitably ran into issues, I heard the same litany of "it's in the help center" as if I had even the vaguest idea of what I was looking for and "you should know this" when my grades showed that, clearly, I did not.
And then the capstone came around, and guess what? It involved react.js, which at this point I was already quite vehement towards. I will admit! I gave it my best shot, but my user stories didn't match up and I failed by a few points. In the follow up weeks, I fought and fought and fought with react.js while my instructors became steadily less and less helpful until finally? I noted very keenly how the user stories did not specify using react.js.
So I didn't. I disabled it all and wrote the entire frontend in JavaScript with some help from some coder friends.
My instructors didn't notice until after they had passed me with flying colors. Despite mentioning it my EOD reports. And my GitHub updates.
However, the trouble didn't end there. I found Career Services to be distinctly lacking. On the onset, I found them difficult to contact and difficult to get instruction from. Then, after some help with my resume, I was sent to watch, guess what, more tutorial videos, mixed in with the occasional PDF, which they apparently expect us to just memorize and utilize. What little face-time I received with these instructors was usually spent trying to force me out of my comfort zone, into doing things that were self-depreciating, and then expecting me to be a natural at it. I began reaching out to my fellow students, one who had passed on the initial try, to see if this was the case with them as well. I quickly found out that they, too, were quite underwhelmed by it all. It felt like they were inattentive at times, or missing crucial details. I had to be asked, twice, if I was a veteran, and shortly there after? My resume was sent off to an unknown without any of my prior console or consent.
And there was a bit of a bump, as much as I hate to bring up anything that may involve someone's personal drama, but: one of the two career counseling folk promptly resigned from the company, and twas evident by their LinkedIn post that they had not yet lined anything else up yet. And, mind you: this was shortly before the holidays with all its juicy bonuses. I cannot even begin to claim to know half the details of what went on here, but.. with what little I was presented, it seemed evident something was amiss.
The issues were an ongoing thing, one after another. The new instructor kept harping about GitHub updates, which would be fine and well, if they could get the number correct. My reports said I was due 5 updates each week, where as their number kept jumping around, despite me repeatedly informing them of this. And then the other instructor wants to start to seeing "research on the company" and "who you reached out to highlight yourself", two things I have not been doing because I have no idea how I should. I started to dig into that pile of tutorial videos and PDFs, and, along with noticing how they were fraught with typos and errors, I did indeed find the section where they covered this. It really felt like something that should have been focused on in the first week.
This is the point where I started calling the loan company to talk about refunding, because, devCodeCamp was clearly not worth it. You might as well just watch youtube videos, because, half the time? You'll be doing that anyway. Unfortunately, it looked like I was stuck paying for a weak, watered down product.

Starting the program it was instilled in the minds of all my classmates and I that the program would be no easy task. We were told early on that the course was going to be one of the hardest things that we've ever had to learn. Little did I know the course would turn out to be smooth sailing from beginning to finish.
The time spent at devCodeCamp was filled with an amazing support system and strong team dynamic. There are multiple instructors for technical help and a strong backbone for any non-technical questions. From the gecko I was able to learn concepts and ideas easy. The instructors are well-prepared and continue make sure each and every student is on the track to success. Each section of the program is given adequate time for students to ask all the questions they have and complete the project. In late 2022, I began the devCodeCamp (hereafter, "dCC") Computer Science Engineer bootcamp with prior experience testing websites and a little exposure to the frontend markup languages, HTML, CSS, WAI-ARIA, and JavaScript. Through 20 weeks of rigorous, rapid-paced instruction and practice, I gained a confident handle on the technologies that I learned, including Python, Django REST Frameworks, Postman API, Java, Cypress, SQL, MySQL, CSS Flexbox, JavaScript, and React.js. I went from knowing usability and markup to practicing full stack development. There were several important professional development concepts integrated into the structure of the program. For example, we were practiced Agile principles, gave "standups" to report our progress on a project, and were paired for certain projects. Some of the questions for which we were required to give written answers helped us practice our communication skills. The course went beyond just programming to give us a taste of the real-world environment for which we were preparing.
I have taken a lot of online trainings before dCC, and this was the best value for the cost of training that I paid for. The lessons were well-coordinated as each teacher conveyed the same information about the lesson. The live lectures and demos were supported by corresponding videos and slide shows to give us multiple ways to engage and review the course content. The teachers were responsive to visit us in breakout rooms for extra support as needed.
Anyone with no prior programming experience (as I was) should expect to spend a lot of time after class to reviewing the lessons and practicing the basics. Be encouraged to ask a lot of questions to clarify terms and concepts that are unfamiliar. The pace is fast, and you must be diligent to reach out to the instructors about any difficulties you face so that they may help you reach your goals.
I ask a lot of questions in class. Each teacher handled my questions, no matter how difficult, with patience and grace. Their confidence gave me the confidence that instructors were not only competent but experts in the field. This increased the value of what they were teaching me.
Five months ago, I knew none of this. I give dCC the highest recommendation for equipping me with a variety of tools and projects to approach the software development industry with the foundation to understand and contribute as I continue my growth as a developer.
Adding icing to the cake is that dCC also provides career support from the first month of the course. That support, an introductory online seminar with a Career Services employee, set the tone and foundation for the end goal of our training to enter the workforce!
As a graduate, the plan to help us find employment was clear, consistent, and definitive. dCC stands out to me as top-notch in support from Admissions to Career Services, comparable to the services of a traditional college. From start to finish, thank you, dCC!
