Coding Temple

I was in the 6 month self-paced program at Coding Temple from April to September 2022. It was a hard road to say the least. A working parent who has most of the responsibility of keeping the house in order because of my wife's schedule put a strain on the 6 months I couldn't have imagined. My instructors were Brandon Apol, Christian Askew and Schardre Dent during the 6 month program. They were always willing to help, but were also able to deflect back to me when it was imperative that I figure it out on my own. I originally was displease because I thought there could be more subject matter taught, especially the stuff that causes the most problems and that isn't the coding part. Looking back now, I realized that its always part of the process to figure things out on your own and the better you are at that, the more valuable you will be in the field. Also, figuring things out on your own gives you a confidence that surpasses any test you could pass and I mean that with certainty. Not only that but you will learn things and have the tools to be successful and you won't even realize it until you do start figuring things out on your own, which is what you will have to do in the field to be successful. I appreciate the effort of my instructors and there help when I needed it the most. I would recommend Coding Temple for anyone desiring to become a computer programmer or anything in the tech field for that matter because of its broad background of subjects covered. I would add however, that being a non-traditional student, this learning environment was very challenging. I believe therein lies the issues of my struggles early on.... teaching myself a lot of things was not what I was used to doing in traditional college/university. I am forever grateful for the time I have spent here and everyone involved with this program.... It is top notch!!!! 

I am graduating from Coding Temple in one week, and I have to say it has been an amazing experience since Day 1. The staff have been so welcoming and comforting throughout my journey. I have to give an extra amazing review for my teacher, Lucas. He is SO knowledgeable about the tech world, any question you throw at him, he either knows how to fix your problem instantly or works through your problem with you. He is the best teacher I have ever had. Highly recommend Coding Temple to kick start your tech journey!

I had a great experience at Coding Temple. I completed a full-time 10 week immersive course and it was tough. Lot of cancelled plans and late nights working. But if you feel ready, I would highly recommend this bootcamp! I don't think there's ever a "perfect" time to make a decision like this. You just have to take risks sometimes and trust yourself.

If I could go back, I would have prepared more. They suggest 2 weeks to complete all of the prework assignments and I only had like 6 days. I didn't finish it all, and HTML/CSS is the last of prework, but you start it on Day 1 of class.

I wish that Ripal (admissions) had suggested I was enrolled in the cohort after. However, he was super nice during the admission process and granted me a $500 scholarship which was unexpected and very appreciated. The reason I bring this up is because I asked Nicole (student advisor) if I could re-enroll into the next cohort coming up. I just felt so behind and lost in HTML/CSS by day 3. She gave me the support I needed and pushed me to hang in there until the next week which was Python. If I still felt lost, we could arrange re-enrolling and waiving the re-enrollment fee. That said a lot to me about Coding Temple. That they are going to work with you if you ask for help!

Class over zoom was great. I had to figure out how to learn again. You don't need to type along during class because it's all recorded and your night is going to be re-watching the day's lecture over and over. I took notes to make sure Python concepts stuck in my head. And found youtubers who explained things in different ways. Derek and Lucas were fantastic instructors, I definitely miss seeing them every day. It was a serious challenge getting everything turned in, doing codewars, attending guest speakers, scheduling after-hours help, and just living your life. But once it's over you are exposed to pretty much everything you need to know for web development. I have assignments that I will definitely come back to tweak and work on.

After graduating, you get alumni support via slack forever. Marlene (career coach) and Nate (alumni tech instructor) are fantastic. They so work hard to help you succeed. There are tech workshops for coding interview challenges and job search support workshops where other alumni share their tips for getting a job offer. I like knowing that I could come back in a year or two to sharpen my skills or revamp my resume. 

I chose this bootcamp because it's one of the shortest timeframes out there and they offer a money back guarantee. It's real - but it's pretty hard to achieve IMO. Just know that while there are horror stories out there about some bootcamps, Coding Temple is legit. It's very expensive, but I feel proud that I did it. I will never regret investing in an education. 

Wow, to say that this program is amazing is an understatement! I came into this course with a lack of confidence in my technical abilities, and now I am so proud to say that I've graduated from this program. The instructors are so incredibly helpful and completely dedicated to walking their students understand the content at hand. Christian Askew, Brandon Apol, and the rest of the Coding Temple team- thank you so much for guiding me through this invaluable experience. I would recommend this course to anyone of any skillset- if you have the drive and an open mind, you can do it!

When I decided to enroll in Coding Temple, I had been job searching for almost seven months with little to no prospects. I began searching for bootcamps and I stumbled upon Coding Temple, and I sure am happy that I did. I had little coding experience heading in, but now I am a full-fledge software developer. The teachers, the other students, the resources, I really couldn't ask for anything better. If you know this is what you want to do, you will find no better place than Coding Temple.

I took the full-time course and I was working part-time through it. It was difficult, I won't lie to you and say it was easy. If you can, try to not have to work and solely focus on the bootcamp. But I promise you, if you work hard and really give it your all, in 10 weeks, you will have the skills to start a whole new career making a whole lot more money (or potential to make a whole lot more money) than whatever you were doing before. Coding Temple was a great school! I learned a lot in my 10-week program.  It was very challenging. You will put in a lot of hours outside of class, but it is really worth it. They teach you the most up-to-date technology and practices. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable, and the support staff are great! You will be expected to put in the work and effort, but they provide a lot of support and help for you when you need it. Everyone is easily accessible, and they actually respond to you when you reach out to them. They provide a ton of job support after you graduate. You have interview support, job search support, resume writing support, weekly coding post-grad class, and continued coding challenges to help you stay up to date on your coding skills. 

I had a great time during my experience at Coding Temple, if you get Brian as your teacher consider yourself lucky. He's a great teacher, very patient and can teach difficult concepts to a brick wall. It is a lot of work, so make sure you have the time. You'll have homework (nearly) every night on top of a full day of class, and your weekend will be filled with a project covering all the topics of that week. I had a little programming experience going in, self taught mostly but nothing too special so the first few weeks went pretty well, but it quickly jumped in complexity and I found myself studying and programming late into the night. 

Overall, I learned more in these 10 weeks than I ever could have on my own and I'm glad I was lucky enough to be in a position to take this course.

If you're looking for a bootcamp that not only provides you with the resources to be successful but also gives you a sense of belonging, look no further! My instructors Ryan and Terrell were the absolute best. They were very patient with everyone in our cohort and extremely knowledgeable. Not to mention there was never a dull moment with them two. 

After graduation, you are also provided with the resources that teach you how to successfully look for a job in the tech world. Marlene, the alumni director, is a rock star! She will provide you with valuable feedback and will tell you things the way they are, no sugar coating. 

I am beyond grateful for the experience Coding Temple provided me with and I would highly recommend to anyone! You will get out of this bootcamp what you put into it. 

Coding Temple was a great way for me to finish off my self teaching in computer programming.  Even though I have very good discipline, this really forced me to put in the work and to really learn in a fast world environment. You will learn a lot in a little time but you will learn how to problem solve and figure things out regardless of the language(JavaScript, Python, SQL...etc).  I was able to land a job months after graduating thanks to their outstanding after grad program, this for me was a great help.  I learned to write and create resumes, cover letters, talk with recruiters and possible employers about my abilities and myself.  Then I continued my learning with more classes about algorithms and interview challenges that the school offers all while bouncing ideas off of other cohorts.       

I didn't want a program that was set up as a bunch of videos to watch with no real support. I could get that from YouTube. So when I was researching the different bootcamp options out there, I liked that Coding Temple offered an instructor. Most did for full-time/in-person courses but CT also offers instructor support in their Self-Paced program. The instructor was extremely helpful when I ran into issues or needed a bit more explanation on various things we were learning. The assignments were engaging, dare I say FUN and challenged you to truly apply what you were learning in the course. Once you finish the bootcamp, you then have a whole new support system in their Alumni team who help with resume building, application processes, and interview support - both technical and in general.

I had learned some coding and SQL basics before I started the bootcamp experience. This full stack course took it to a whole another level. I was challenged and push which is what I like in order to learn and retain information. Not only were we held accountable, and it forced me to think outside that box which is rare for me as I find challenges fairly easy. I liked the course challenged me every day and I was able to solve and learn things I didn't think about. Other than the teaching aspect, I loved sources were provided. Marlene knows all about my venting and I really appreciate all her help in my career. 

Going into this program I had 0 experience with coding! none whatsoever!!! Brandon made learning all the information a lot of fun and understandable, and at the end I had learned things that I never in a million years thought I'd understand.  One critique I'd have with the self paced program is giving students the ability to get the pre-work done before the actual start of the course.  Outside of that... It was an absolutely amazing experience and I can't wait to see where my career goes from here!

The program was absolutely incredible from start to finish. Coming from someone who already had some experience with programming, the amount of knowledge I gained from this experience is unmatched. I learned every skill I needed to take with me into the job search and landed a terrific role within 5 months of graduation. 

The instructors were extremely helpful anytime I did not understand something or needed more information. The tools that were given to me were everything I needed to succeed. Marlene does an amazing job providing assistance in the job search post graduation.

Easily one of the best decisions I have ever made.

I had a great experience at Coding Temple!  My instructor was Nate Welter and he did an amazing job at adjusting the pace of the course so that everybody had a working understanding of the material.  There really was no question he couldn't answer on the spot, and if by chance something did come up, he was very resourceful and had an answer nearly immediately (which is probably the greatest asset there is for a programmer).  
Our TA was also very helpful and would stay late after class on an individual basis if anyone felt they were falling behind (spoiler- they wouldn't be falling behind for long).  
I can't personally attest to the abilities of the other instructors, but I know they're a tight knit group, and I've heard nothing but good things from students of their classes. Algo Night is offered every week to brush up on skills, and the support system for post-graduates is relentless, you will never feel left behind.
