Avocademy has been an invaluable resource throughout my career transition, providing unwavering support and guidance. Even though I took longer than expected to complete Foundations, they remained committed to my success. The mentors played a crucial role, offering insightful tips and suggestions to improve my work, and their genuine desire to see me grow was evident. One aspect I particularly love is the wins channel, where successful graduates share their job placements. It's both amazing and inspiring to witness their achievements and when the layoffs were happening, Avocademy students were still able to find employment. This channel kept me motivated, and I eagerly anticipate sharing my own success story soon. The program's prompted me to continue with their career jumpstart program. I appreciate their high success rate and the valuable experience they provide, including collaboration with other designers and actually working with real clients. I can confidently say that I'm happy with my decision, and I wholeheartedly recommend this program to anyone interested in pursuing a career as a UX/UI Designer. You won't regret it!

I tried to do an online bootcamp fro UX design, As somebody living with ADHD, getting into a whole class, keep my interest and even finishing the course is extremely challenging. I tried Coursera, with was great, but I lost interest very quickly. 
With Avocademy my experience was completely different. I still did it online and at my own pace. But it was great to have mentors reviewing my activities and available for a call whenever I need it. Not only I'm happy with the class and proud of myself but also I'm impressed on how the final product for my project looks.

Avocademy is great! I honestly was nervous at first because I've been trying to break into UX for a while now, and never had any clear guidance on how to really get started. Avocademy helped me with that tremendously. They really do well with teaching you what you need to know in order to be successful in UX. They go through each step in the design process and make sure that you have a good grasp on each of those steps before moving onto the next section and while going through each part of the design process, you're actually building your first case study for a portfolio. They also even go through and help you build that portfolio in a professional manner. Being able to have interactions with real design mentors and current designers really helps too. It allows you to really get a better understanding of what you're learning, and allows for you to see design problems being solved from the eyes of a professional whenever you meet with mentors to discuss your projects. Definitely would recommend to anyone!

My UI/UX journey with Avocademy has been wonderful! When I started my journey, I had a full time job and a huge family emergency so the only time I had to work on Avocademy was at odd times at night which I'm honestly grateful for. Avocademy is set up uniquely where all assignments and videos are all online but you can sign up for a 1-on-1 mentor call for any assignments or issues you want to discuss with someone! Avocademy really allows maximum flexibility while also progressing your UI/UX journey without having to break the bank or stopping any responsibility you might need to deal with. I am grateful for my foundation experiences and would definitely recommend it to people who are looking to start their UI/UX journey at their own pace.)  

This course is truly exceptional in its comprehensive nature, extensive research validation, and continuous iteration. It has surpassed all other courses I have taken thus far. One of the standout features was the provision of 1:1 mentor calls with experienced designers who provided invaluable guidance whenever I encountered obstacles. They not only assisted me in overcoming challenges but also reviewed my resume and cover letters, optimizing my approach to job applications. Moreover, the course provided ample opportunities to collaborate with diverse clients, take on leadership roles within design teams, and facilitate my growth as a lead designer.

Joining any type of bootcamp has always given me anxiety just due to the investment of time, money and effort and being unsure about the outcome, which is why most of the time I just don't. This time around I took a chance after doing my research and talking to previous students, and it was the best decision I could have possibly made for my career. I've learned so much in such a short amount of time and I can't wait to put what I've learned to use in the "real world". Foundations does a great job at exactly what it's meant to do, give you a foundational understanding of UX enough to figure out if you would like to move forward in the field or not. I decided that I did and I ended up joining "Step 2" which is Career Jumpstart. It's been a great journey and I have no regrets. I will say that, as with most things, you get out what you put into it.

I loved how organized it was. It didn't feel like once I paid I was on my own. Having access to mentors and other peers is extremely helpful in staying accountable. Avocademy has done a great job with building an active community. For me, that a piece that really made all the difference. Community = networking, support & accountability.

I completed Career Jumpstart from November 2022- May 2023. During that time, I learned advanced design skills, worked with 3 real clients to add to my portfolio, and received support with resume, portfolio, interview, and job search skills. You should definitely be prepared to put in the work, but the mentors are all so invested in your success and will do anything to help you land a job. They are so supportive and help build your confidence when you're feeling down. I landed a job in 4.5 months and it wouldn't have been possible without all of the support I received from the mentors and community. 

I loved the Avocademy Foundations Course! I have been learning UX/UI independently for a few years in my current position, so I decided it was finally time to learn in a formal setting. I wasn't sure if it was going to be right for me since I knew a bit about UX/UI already, but it ended up being incredibly helpful! The foundations course was perfect for learning the end-to-end process of UX/UI design. I learned so much more than I thought and it gave me a much better understanding of how and why we design. The mentors were amazing for helping me talk through things, review my work, and more. I would highly recommend this course to anyone who's looking to get into the field.

I started with the Google certificate first but needed a bit more guidance so I signed up for Avocademy foundations instead. Honestly, it's a very solid foundation program, especially the mentor support and feedback that do provide a more in-depth understanding if you are having trouble with certain topics. The Speaker series and office hours they provide were exceptionally educational. 
Though, the only negative I want to point out is that there is a chance of running into misunderstandings in the wireframe part of the program with mentors in explaining your design. Luckily, the program is very receptive to feedback and makes improvements to better students' experience constantly. The curriculum is pretty fast-paced if you are also working full-time. It took me a total of 6 months to finish the program, and I struggled hard during the first few months since I was working full-time. Overall, I learned a lot and the program set me up to pursue UX/UI further. 

 The Avocademy UX/UI foundations course is an excellent and accessible introduction to UX design, surpassing self-led online courses in terms of mentorship and structured learning. Having tried both approaches, I found that the guidance from mentors and the pressure to complete projects and assignments on time created a conducive learning environment, particularly for newcomers exposed to a wealth of information in a new field. This course serves as an ideal opportunity to gauge one's interest and aptitude in UX design and offers invaluable insights, even for those not pursuing design specifically. Continually refining itself to enhance student learning and relationships, the course boasts exceptional grace, patience, and expertise, providing an inviting introduction to the world of UX. The Avocademy experience has had a significant impact on my career direction, with the completion of this milestone being a tremendous asset in my professional journey. 

I used Avocademy's Foundations program as my starting point for learning UX design. The program provides a great background on best practices and patterns, with a variety of materials such as videos and articles that provide a broad perspective. The assignments allow ample room to practice and apply what you learn. The mentorship is critical here - receiving immediate feedback after assignments and along the way helps fine-tune your knowledge base and contextualize what you're learning. While sometimes the feedback can be very picky, it shows itself by getting a big return on the end design. I gained a lot of confidence throughout the program by going through the revision process and learning how to present myself to design mentors. I even remain connected with a few of those mentors outside of the program.

The Career Jumpstart program (different from Foundations) is even cooler, with the chance to work with real clients and teams of other students. It seems daunting at first, but once you get going you realize how much you actually know and how prepared you are to tackle UX projects.

I recently finished foundations awhile back. It started when I was looking into starting a career transition. That’s when I found Avocademy through research. I was really looking into finding a more fulfilling career. The course materials are thorough and easily to understand. Foundations definitely prepared me to get an understanding of what UX/UI is all about.

Overall, it was a great learning experience! And I definitely feel I gained a ton of learnings that would set me up for success! I recently completed the UX/UI Foundations course and am now in the Career Jumpstart program at this bootcamp, and I have to say that it has been a truly wonderful experience. The resources provided by the bootcamp have been invaluable in helping me make the transition into UX, and I feel like I've learned so much already.

The instructors are knowledgeable and supportive, and they really go out of their way to make sure that everyone in the program is getting the help they need. The curriculum is well-structured and engaging, and I appreciate how much effort has gone into creating a truly immersive and effective learning experience.

Full disclosure: I completed Avocademy's UX/UI Foundations bootcamp prior to completing their Career Jumpstart (CJ)  program. This review will relate primarily towards my experience for CJ!

I can only speak to my experience but to start, I completed Avocademy's ux/ui foundations bootcamp then applied to CJ. In order to be accepted, you have to be able to complete a design challenge and explain your thought process along with mentors taking your portfolio into consideration. I was accepted into CJ and began my journey on January 2, 2023. 

CJ is split into 3 phases: phase 1 is introductory modules as well as design practice thru Figma, phase 2 (my personal favorite) was where students got to work with real life clients on real life projects, and phase 3 is the job searching phase.  Phase 1 is pretty self-explanatory - they wanted us to brush up on best practices by reading articles/watching videos/completing design practice activities.  Phase 2 was my favorite part because I was able to actually get real life experience working on client products! I completed 2 client projects on teams of 5, where I was a team lead for one of them. (Pro tip: apply to be a team lead - recruiters and hiring managers love the experience!) This gave me a great insight to see what it'd be like to work in an agile setting with cross functional collaboration teams (designers/pm/developers/stakeholders). This was just a truly unique experience that I don't think I could've gotten anywhere else. Phase 3 was an interesting one for me because I lucked out. I ended up finiding my job about 3 weeks into my job search and the hiring manager loved me so much they ended up offering me the top of the pay range for the job! 

All in all, without this program that Maca and Alex have built with their own hands, I don't think I would've been prepared enough to make this career change within 8 months. The endless support I received from mentors and peers alike helped motivate me throughout both of these bootcamps. While 8 months seems like a short time, I had to put in countless hours of hardwork to make something I'm proud of. If you have the money, time, and are willing to put in the effort, I say you take the chance to break into ux/ui design by joining these bootcamps!!

Recently paid $1900 dollars for this program and then fell sick and wound up in hospital. When I tried to resume my courses- didn’t even get past 2 courses- they locked me out and said they would not adjust program despite medical records/evidence.

Not only did I waste so much money on this, but the staff was so rude and money hungry they didn’t care. It would’ve taken nothing for them to let me do the program I paid for but they refused. I am warning everyone of this horrible experience and money wasted on this non accredited fake program. Literally could learn more on youtube (which they point you to anyways). BEWARE- go with a real, accredited school/program. 

Hands down the most wonderful experience I've ever had. Words cannot express how grateful I am for Avocademy. They'll provide you with all the necessary tools and resources to streamline your UX/UI Design Bootcamp experience.  If you're looking to transition into UX/UI Design or on a career pivot, this Bootcamp will not let you down! The mentors and instructors truly care about you as a person and a student. I successfully transition into a UX Designer role in 10 months and I owe it to Avocademy for making it possible!
