I chose Nucamp because I am 34 and right in the middle of life, It just simply isn't feasable for me to quit my job and attend a 12 week bootcamp. Right now I am a baker, it's a decent job that takes care of all my needs but it's pretty much the same routine everyday. I am looking for a career that is challenging and interesting so I started to explore coding, and I got hooked! I very quickly started spending all my free time tying to learn new things about coding and even played around with codepen and making silly little fake webpages. That's when I started looking into how I could take this coding passion and integrate it into my life and make some money doing it. Every bootcamp I researched was super intense and required me to pretty much quit my job and gain massive debt to do. Like I said my job is decent and I live comfortably with no debt, so nothing about those requirements were even remotely appealing. It actually almost turned me away from pursuing coding professionally, I just figured it would be something I enjoyed doing in my free time. I then found freecodecamp and working through that I started searching again for bootcamps. Finally I found Nucamp, and this was something that was totally doable. Nucamp offers a schedule that only required me to do actual school work for a total of 20 hours a week, which I was already doing and more. It also offers this at a price that doesn't send me into massive debt to loom over my head for the next however many years of my life. All in all, Nucamp is my Goldie Locks, just right!! I have only taken the intro so far but I'm enrolling in the fullstack next month. Just in the intro class I have gained knowledge, real life coding experience, teambuilding, encouragement, a community of like minded people, and even some friends to share the journey with. I am excited for the future that Nucamp is going to help me achieve.

I chose Nucamp because it was an affordable price and I saw that it was offerred online, part-time, so I can also continue to work full-time at the same time. I also like that we collaborate with our classmates and teacher. During the Saturday workshops, it was very helpful to have break out rooms of groups of 2-4 students in each break out room because we can all be on the same pace with each other and ask each other questions when we get stuck. Also, if all the students in that break out room get stuck, then the teacher comes in and helps us. Another thing that our cohort did was have additional Zoom meetings after Saturday workshop to help each other in case we didn't finish the project during the class. Overall, the environment in Nucamp is very open and friendly. They have the Slack channel open for us to upload our code in case we get stuck as well, then other students/teachers can help us out. I really enjoyed the Intro to Web Development bootcamp. I know that I personally have to study and practice more on my own. I look forward to taking the Full Stack bootcamp in February.

I chose Nucamp mostly because they provided more than enough information to help me decide what course to register. The pricing was very reasonable and enough materials and learning options were provided to allow me prepare and navigate through the course.

This intro to HTML, CSS and Javascript was everything I thought it would be. The user interface for this classroom was easy to navigate and the classroom time on Saturday mornings were so informative. Would take this class AGAIN and take other classes from NuCamp in a heartbeat!

Easy-access, on-your-own-time-learning, knowledgeable teachers, course structure is set up for success and all at an affordable price. I really enjoyed how the teacher knew what he was talking about and the challenges plus curriculum really helped me understand what software development is all about! Can't wait to start NUCAMP's full-stack development course next!

I chose the price, the extensive programs that are used more frequently as I understood it from my tutors in the past and my friend who is a web developer for a large company. I also chose it, so I can sit in class, but alas Covid-19 decided to be a homewrecker and mess up 2020. I compared your company to Savvy Coders in Chattanooga. They were too much and too fast. They claim you can learn full stack in 12 weeks. I don't see how that is practical in the real world where we as adults got a ton of things to do! They have fewer programs too. Such as, HTML5, Basic Markdown, Agile, CSS3, JavaScript, Interacting with the DOM, Firebase, Node/ Node Express, Mongo DB, Git&Github,UX/UI, and Heroku. Like I said I am a skeptic to learn all of that in 12 weeks. How about people who are slow learners or slow readers? There are so many questions about them. Like yes, they have a scholarship but the catch is you don't have to pay them back until you are hired. Well, what if you can't find a job? Covid-19 has created thousands of jobs being loss. I don't want to owe money when I can't even make money. What if you want to start freelancing? It takes time to build clientele. I've talked to them and I didn't like what they offered. They just started their full stack recently. I don't think new programs are ideal because they are still figuring all the bugs and protocols. FYI, I am not bashing Savvy Coders. It's just not for me. Maybe if you don't have the time twelve weeks is right for you. So, that is my reason. Your company is willing to work with Veterans such as myself. In short, Affordable, friendly, longer time to digest the material, veteran friendly, and awesome instructors! The only thing I wish nu camp taught was ruby rails, MySQL, WordPress, Heroku, and PHP.

I am really happy I chose Nucamp. Not only did I get a thorough introductory to HTML, CSS and Javascript, I met nice people, my instructor helped me and I saved money taking a course at such a great price. The price for the class was very appealing and was a great choice, specially during these covid-19 "times". I now know what I need to work on to keep moving forward with my journey in coding. Thank you Nucamp!

I had been looking at other bootcamp style programs in the Nashville area and was trying to find a place that would be a good fit for my goals. A friend of mine had another friend that had great success with the Nucamp experience and convinced him to sign up for the Web Fundamentals course. When he told me how affordable it was, I was immediately interested in signing up. COVID-19 had eliminated over 80% of my work this year so affordability was a huge issue for me. I was so pleased with the Web Fundamentals experience that I signed up for the Full Stack program, which I am starting this week. Really looking forward to it! It has been a fantastic learning experience so far.

I selected Nucamp for for my boot camp because of the low cost investment to develop skills for web development and to experience what a boot camp would be like. I am interested in enrolling in the full stack boot camp and based on my positive learning experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript boot camp I will continue on my journey with Nucamp.

I've spent the better part of 6 years searching for an effective program that would allow me to learn the necessary skills to development and manage websites. On my search for coding bootcamps in the Las Vegas, NV area, I found that there were only 3 options available. One option cost approx $12,000 and consisted of a 26 week course that required full-time hours M-F 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. This option would have required me to either reduce my hours at work to part-time, or to change my work schedule to allow to both work full time and learn. The second option cost approx $20,000 for a 9 month course. They offered a student agreement that would allow me to attend the courses for free now, and then I would be able to repay them once I graduted from the program. There was a lot of fine print on what repayment would look like, and I got the gist that as long as I had any job yeilding an income of $40,000 or higher, the repayment of the loan would begin. My biggest problem with this option is that I am likely to make $40,000 in my current field of profession and this didn't seem like it would offer a very smooth transition into the new field I am pursuing. The final option was Nucamp. Nucamp's cost was approx. $1750 for a 22 week course (Early bird special) In addition, the courses are laid out in such a way that only requires about 2 hours per day M-F and then a 4 hour session on the weekend. Being that I am still sceptical, I decided to give the Web Development Fundamentals course a try. This is a 4 week course that covers the essentials of Web Development. I've taken similar courses, so I felt this would give me a good guage for how managing my course load and work/life balance would work. I have just turned in my 4th and final project for this course and I am excited about all the things that I have learned. I am looking forward to starting the full-stack bootcamp and furthering my learning. Thanks NucampFard Wallen

Nucamp was a great choice for me because I work a full time job and have family responsibilities. I was able to study when it was convenient for me and my schedule. The instructor was very helpful with answering questions through Slack and the Nucamp forum.

Nucamp was very affordable and taught me skills that I learned in 1/2 the time that it would have taken in college.

What I loved most about Nucamp first and foremost was the price. You cannot find any other bootcamp that is as reasonably priced as this one is. It is also setup to be flexible, at least during the week. You have the entire week to get through the content for that week before the mandatory Saturday workshop. I was a complete beginner and knew nothing before signing up for this program, and I thought the Fundamentals program did a great job of teaching the basics. That's not to say that just because you're learning the basics that it won't be challenging. If you already have experience with HTML, CSS, and/or JavaScript then maybe this will come easy to you, but I was challenged every week, especially during the workshop assignments. There is a lot of course content that is discussed, plus there are additional resources for you to work through on your own time outside of the cirriculum. Essentially, you get out of this program what you put in. You need to do some work every day or almost every day if you want to be ready for the weekly workshops, as well as just retaining knowledge in general. And use the resources available to you! You have a live workshop every week so you can ask the instructor and your peers questions. I found the breakout rooms to be helpful because they consisted of 2-3 other students and it was easier to ask a question if you get stuck on something. And the instructor is always available for questions, too. Besides the workshop there are also several forum pages (through nucamp, Slack, etc) where you can reach out to people or even just see what others struggle with that may end up helping you. I am signed up for the Full Stack program and I feel a lot more prepared for that now thanks to this Fundamentals course.

I chose NuCamp because of the price and the reviews, but I feel that I got much more than my money's worth. The instructor was knowledgeable and helpful, and though the material was difficult, for the most part I felt that everything was thoroughly explained and gone over. I liked the structure of the course, where you go over the lessons on your own and everything is explained again during the workshop and are given the opportunity to ask any questions.
