Fast Track

Overall the fast track course is great for beginners, only wished there was more content of Node Js for backend development, instead of using Ruby on Rails for MERN API.Big shout out to Glen Johnson, the "educator assistant", he is a huge reason that made this course a great experience!

Fast Track Bootcamp

Overall the course was extremely rewarding. Only do it if you’re ready to commit the next 6-months of you life to programming. It will break you but you will come out with such a strong understanding of industry standard web development. Couldn’t recommend more highly of it.

Fast track bootcamp is pretty good

Decent course teaching web development coding for Ruby, Rails, JavaScript and React. They give you a lot of info and support, it's intensive but if you spend the time listening, learning and applying, it will serve you well. Internship optional at end isn't guaranteed.

Excellent Bootcamp

Im just submitting my final assignment before I start the internship at the end of this bootcamp and I'm quite happy with the course. The educators put in more time to make sure you understand everything than you might expect. But you will still need to be a self directed learner and learn quickly how to efficiently use google to solve problems.Overall I'm super happy to have spent the time and money to do this and am excited to start my career in full stack software dev.

the course structure has big problem! their lesson only teach part of full stack, so after class you still can't finish a whole full stack website individually and  have to do research by yourself.  They used to say they did not prefer front-end or back-end, but the fact is that they completely ignored front-end teaching and only taught CSS skills for 2 weeks in the first semester, and then did not involve front-end teaching. it should be said that they are institutions that tend to back-end teaching. In the last term, the course arrangement was very unreasonable and the course content was rushed, so students have many problems in the final project. So if you don't have a certain programming foundation, it's not the best choose for you! there are many students drop out the course. And another important point that there are lots of dramas happened during the class, coding not working properly and plugs install problems happen all the time. For assignment, in the academy requirement 100-200 words for each question, but teacher will tell you that requirement only reach to pass level, you have to submit 300-400words each question if you want to get D or HD. So all students spend lots of time to do these research and still need to do practices. Before you plan to register for classes, you must think carefully, academy say they will guarantee offer you  internship opportunities after finish the course, but in fact not everyone can get the internship, and academy will ask you to wait or try to find job by yourself, but it's very difficult for people who just finish course without any experiences. maybe it's only happen on me.... but just let everyone know about that before you make the decision.

Gentech Bootcamp

I am a career changer and within 6 months of completing the bootcamp I achieved my goal of changing industries. I had zero coding experience and came out of it knowing all of the most relevant tech stacks in industry. The educators are very knowledgable, patient, and supportive. I thought about quitting many times but the educators supported me the whole way through and I am so thankful. I have found now a lot of people reach out to me for work opportunities as they value the skills I can bring to the table and that is all thanks to Coder Academy.

My fast track journey to a developer job

I have a Master’s degree in Information Systems and when I graduated, I realised that I lack the required business experience and technical experience to get a job. It was a heart-breaking moment for me and the only job that I could get was in IT support. I worked there for a year and I did excel while working there. I was an IT helpdesk support technician and was working in Perth with some of the largest multinational corporations such as Chevron and BHP Billiton. I was highly paid but did not have job satisfaction. After one year I quit but didn’t want to go to University again and repeat the same cycle of lack of experience. Surprisingly, Universities cannot provide an internship to their students that lays the basic foundation for someone changing careers to get their foot in the door. Luckily, I found Coder Academy (CA) which was providing internships for all their students. It helped me bridge the gap between education and industry. I was hired after my internship by the same company and many other of my classmates also got the job via the internship. Coder Academy has included building a portfolio which is very impressive to some of my potential employers. Also, the side projects we did during the course gave me something to show my coding skills and interviewers something to talk about in the interview. It was a very intensive course and at times I felt breaking down due to pressure and timely submission of projects. Many of my classmates felt giving up the course multiple time during the course. But it was all worthwhile in the end.In my cohort, the course was divided into three terms. In the first term, we started the course with Ruby as it is really easy to learn and built a terminal application. Then we moved on to Ruby on Rails in the second term and built a two-sided e-commerce website. Then in the third term had MERN/PERN stack and built something of our choice. This project was supposed to be a client project to give us a feeling of the real world, but COVID happened and the project was changed.During the course, we got a fair amount of support from educators, but not enough. Most of the times I found myself dealing with my problems by myself. That acted as a blessing in disguise, as in the real world being independent and able to solve the coding issue fast and on my own has helped me impress my employers.I did feel that Ruby and Rails are a bit outdated technology and not many people use it. But guess what, as I’m writing this, I’m moving to my second job and it is in React/Rails stack. But definitely, there are few jobs for Rails and more for PHP and C# .Net stack for the backend. It would have been great to include these stacks but can be learned on my own.I also found that the material covered in flex track was more in details and the projects were not rushed as they were for us in the fast track. I’ll suggest someone coming from a non-technical background, it would be easier to pursue flex track which is 10 months course. It will be 4 more months compared to fast track, but definitely worth the time as the curriculum has heaps of concepts that overwhelmed many of my classmates many times during the course.Overall, I would say it was a great experience. It was stressful and intense and I’d say not for everyone. But if one is focused and determined, I believe it is worth the effort and time one put into it.

Best decision of my life!

Before completing this 6 month bootcamp I had no coding experience or knowledge. Within 6 (very fast paced, very fun!) months I have made a career change and become employed as a developer! Every topic covered in the course was relevant and useful in my current role now. There was a perfect mix of hands on and theoretical topics and the assessments were super relevant. The content we covered has helped in learning the fundamentals, best practises and also prepared me for interview questions. I am SO GLAD I did this course - I now have a career I'm super passionate and excited about in an industry that is booming. Note, at the beginning of this course due to COVID-19 we transitioned to full-time online classroom. I was super impressed with how the classes were run after that. It was still engaging and we had all the tools we needed for remote team collaboration and also perfect practise for getting us ready for the world of remote workplaces.

From 0 to 100 in 6 months

My time at Coder Academy has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. I started the course with knowing a few things about coding and by the end of it I now know how to create apps with 100's of lines of code. The people i've met over my time at Coder Academy have been such a big help with my journey and i now call them friends. The staff at Coder Academy are also one of the major reasons why I loved my time at Coder, they helped me land an amazing opportunity doing an internship at an amazing company and i'm thankful for everyone at Coder Academy for making my 6 month journey amazing. I seriously recommend anyone who wants to take up programming to give this course a shot cause you will not be disappointed.

Incredibly beneficial

Extremely useful and practical course, taking me from a bartender with an empty Github to actually being in the industry with multiple projects under my belt. The instructors we're extremely helpful and positive and the other students we're absolutely the best. I can't recommend this course enough.

A great course to career change!

I finished the Fast Track course last week feeling motivated to walk into my internship and contribute to a real-world project. The course is great for those who are interested in web development and who want to learn the building blocks for logical thinking in coding as taught through Coder Academy’s computer science fundamentals class. I’d recommend this course to anyone interested in career changing to web development.

Be the best that you can be

It's an excellent education institution that bridges the gap between a novice to a junior software engineer. The educators Harrison, Ryan, Roddy and Anhar at the academy are supportive and knowledgeable. Not only do they offer great training but what make Coder Academy stand out is the placement of an Internship at the end of the course. I was fortunately enough to get a placement thanks to all the help that I received from the educators and Andrew whom was in charge of securing the internship placement.Overall experience was a positive one in terms of learning and getting an internship. Thanks again to everyone at Coder Academy for the help and support!

You only get out what you put in

The well-known quote: 'you only get out what you put in' describes the experience at Coder Academy perfectly.I studied the Fast Track course at Coder Academy in the August 2019 - February 2020 cohort. The course was intense, but for those who put in the work each week, the pace of learning was incredible. I have never learned so fast in my life.

So Practical So Learning

The experience at coder academy is, first and foremost, super practical. During the 5 months I've created a number of apps and am inspired to create more and more. As far as staff goes - The educators are wizards, student services are warm and fuzzy pikachus and my fellow aspiring Devs are kings and queens.  Love em all

Genuinely great experience

It is one of the best learning environments that I have experienced through my studying over the years. The teachers are brilliant, friendly, and willing to answer almost every question you have. The fast teav course is challenging, but also very rewarding. One piece of advice I would give if you get in, is ask as many questions as you can while you are there.

Fast Track Sydney

As a recent grad of Coder Academy Sydney I can attest to the great reputation and reviews the course has. It has been influential on changing my study process, and has opened me up to a new world of learning and opportunity.   The course can be quite intense, and the immersion of a full 9-5 week coding is a great method of getting students in a mindframe of learning large amounts of content in a short period. There is a heavy emphasis on networking and industry skills, as well as a constantly updated curriculum ensuring you are studying the latest industry standards, which I believe is a great asset not afforded to traditional university students.  The internship at the end of the course is also both a great motivating factor during study, as well as an invaluable opportunity to get your foot in the door of industry and continue your learning in a supportive environment.
