Just a heads up for those people reading through these reviews, I'd like to suggest taking them with a grain of salt. I've spoken with a number of these people leaving reviews throughout the course and they've said many things which leaves me baffled as to why they would leave 5 star reviews. I imagine it's a combination of them forgetting how they felt throughout the course, just being happy now that they are nearing its completion, or being concerned that there will be negative ramifications if they leave a negative (or accurate) review.
Pros:
- I've learnt a lot and am ultimately happy I've done the course.
- I've been placed into an internship at a great company which could set me up for moving into the industry.
- Met great people throughout the course
- The teachers make themselves easily available to message any day of the week if you have any questions about the content (although I feel like this could also lead to burnout as they don't necessarily take as much time away from the course as they need to).
- Feedback was recieved and action taken when people were unhappy with a number of things (so this means the below cons may have been mitigated somewhat). However, this took a long time to happen and numerous complaints and discomfort during classtimes (it was clear the lead teacher had read negative feedback and made a number of passive agressive and self-deprecating comments as a result).
Cons:
- Course content was all over the place with no clear structure of what was going on from day to day.
- A teacher was let go during the course. I'd speculate that that was in relation to his behaviour in class, lack of willingness to record videos of the lectures, and general attitude. During the teachers deterioration, the number of students showing up to class dropped significantly because people found it more useful trying to self-learn (I understand that self-learning is a part of becoming a web developer but I signed up to the course so I didn't have to purchase additional online courses.)
- CSS teaching was really disappointing, at that point I considered leaving the course because we were just told to play online CSS games and were just watching videos in class (we could do this at home).
- The teachers were clairly unhappy with how management operated in Sydney, which as a student I didn't need to be exposed to. Would have been more professional to deal with it in meetings rather than being vocal about it in class (which distracted from the reason we were here).
- Communication from those providing job assistance was lacklustre. We were provided example CVs hours before we were told we needed to submit our own (and the examples didn't relate exactly to our situation because they were post-internship CVs and we were applying for our internships). I'm about to start my internship in a week and do not have the email of the person I will be working for and am not even sure what time I will be starting (the job assistance has however told me they have scheduled an email for next week).
- Mentor talks were hit and miss and we were often convinced to show up to class without them saying what for (this is because they often weren't great).
- Teachers suggested we do a number of things just to tick boxes rather than put a positive spin on the fact that we were learning skills that might be useful. Discrete maths was just something we "needed to remember for the test" but it cost us a lot of money to be here so I'd prefer they emphasise the fact that this could be useful in software development.
- The way people were assigned to internships seemed like a lucky dip with people who I know are capable web developers not receiving any interviews while others recieved 3.

I started CA Bootcamp to start anew. I was studying marketing in Istanbul Bilgi Uni., I had a passion for coding and I came here to explore it. And my exploration has been massive. Even though the learning process in such a short time is quite hard, Coder Academy's experienced and good staff will deliver on their promises.
This course has changed the path of my life, it thought me how to think in means of coding language and computer logic. And I believe it thought me how to self learn and keep updated to any coding language other than C++.
I would recommend this to both domestic and international people who are passionate about coding and looking to take on the course where they would get to do their passion for the rest of life this is your kick starter.

Having just finished the course, I'd like to note a few key points to any potential students:
Their curriculum is constantly being updated to maximise your learning outcomes. They get feedback from industry hirers on knowledge gaps of junior devs as well, meaning that everything you learn is directly applicable in the workforce.
The current lead educator, Garret, is probably the best teacher I've had throughout my years through school and university. Not only does he know his shit, he is very empathetic and is always available to help.
Compared to self-learning, being able to be guided in the right direction as well as being able to share the pains with an entire class of like-minded people is a great motivator to excel in the course.
The internship process is extremely useful since being able to get experience interviewing for positions as well as having the option to vet your potential internship companies would be very useful for applying for actual junior dev positions
As mentioned by others, please note that this bootcamp is intense. There are 40 contact hours a week, in addition to self-study. Even though there is a lot of support if you feel like you are struggling, to maximise what you get out of it, make sure you can prioritise your commitments so that you give yourself ample time outside of class to solidify what you learn in class. If this is a problem, maybe check out the CoderAcademy Gentech part-time course.

Just graduated from Coder Academy's Fast Track Coding Bootcamp after sitting on the fence for months. And hands down was so worth it. After 6 months of coding full-time and I can finally see the light. Before coding, I tried to self-teach web development but quickly plateau. Garret was our class's main instructor and we all learn so much. Not just coding but many other important skills relevant in the work force. How to learn, solve problems, and work in industry. I felt it perfectly prepared me to transition from my career in real estate into development. The program also includes an internship and I am excited to start my in a week!!

Made the switch from finance to coding. Attempted to self-teach myself coding and thought it coding was too technical for me to grasp. Upon finishing this course, I'm now feeling confident coding :)
Great experience with great group of people (educators and students). The bootcamp is intensive, so do be prepared to put in the hard work.
Overall, recommend this course

I have just finished a 6 month intensive web development bootcamp. Would highly recommend this course. Highly passionate and supportive teachers and support staff. Definately a life changing experience. The content covered is relevant to what is currently being used in industry and will help you get into the industry. I have been given a 1 month internship at the end of the course and am looking forward to working in the industry

I am happy with my decision to do the coder academy fasttrack bootcamp. I have learnt alot over ther past 6 month, when I started i had very little knowledge of coding and now can build my own working websites and applications.
Would definitely recommend!!!

Highly recommend this bootcamp.

Going through 6 months of web development course was a great learning experience at Coder Academy for me. Switiching my career to a Developer, I need a solid understanding and foundation on coding which i got through this 6 months course.
The best part is the one month intership where you get to apply what you have learnt. Highly recommend the course.
Graduate 2019
Great experience with a great group of people with great support from the Coder staff.
Learned a lot and I feel much more confident to find a work in the industry. No regrets.

Coder Academy was one of the best decison of my life, I have met like minded people who also love to learn! The staff were all amazing and were always there when you needed help. I would highly recommend to anyone who would want to learn how to code

Excellent for learning base fundamentals when it comes to programming. Essentially setting you to go out on your own and understand, read and develop skillls in any programming language.
The course structure needs to be improved, as it seems teachers seem to be winging it from day to day based on any given subject. Outstanding set curriclum and layout is required.
Regarding teachers, for the whole they are very committed and accesible, always willing to help, educate and take one on one time do some white boarding so you can understand a concept in your own specific way of learning. Matt <3.
Also, only for donuts.

Most of us were career changers so all of us had actively chosen to put our lives on hold to attend CoderAcademy. You'll find yourself going to school with people who really wanted to be there, and that in turn kept me going when I was down. The teachers wanted to see you succeed and most of them stayed back to give extra help to those who needed it. There were lots of highs and lows, a really intense but overall great experience and it flew by in the blink of an eye.
Graduate 2019
The last 6 months have been such an amazing experience full of great memories and tribulations.
The bootcamp is very intensive, but you will experience first hand what pressure is like as well as the amazing support of the teachers and staff.
While there is so much to learn and continuously learn it is a great start for anyone if they wish to get a start in the world of programming
Student 2019
Bootcamp is never meant to be easy. But with great support from the teachers.
all that is left is, How bad do you want to learn? This class is run with 3 teachers that is always ready to go over subjects you don't understand, will stay back till late, if need be.
if you are looking into Coding, give this one a go.

This course is great if you aren't sure what you want to do. The instructors not only teach valuble content but also share their coding and industry experiences. They bring in mentors that are kind and willing to get involved with our journeys as well. Completely organised everyday and quick to adapt to any changes these instructors are Rockstars. You have to be prepared for hard work and daily information overloads Overall if you're interested 6 moths goes insanely quick when you are a part of a great cohort that accepts you and encourages growth.

I have loved being apart of the Coder Academy family. It is an incredibly supportive and fun community to be apart of and learn in. I have done previous study at a university, but it does not compare to the personal relationships formed between students and educators, the application of real life practical skills as well as having mentors and connections within the industry that you get from Coder Academy. It is definitely worth it and I would encourage anyone and everyone to look at Coder Academy to kickstart a career change into the tech industry.
Graduate 2019
This has been an amazing journey for me, I have learned more in the first month alone compared to the 6 months I was trying to learn coding on my own. The bootcamp is really intensive, the projects are crazy but you always have teachers to help you with problems. There's just so much to learn, but this was a great start to my programming journey.
Graduate 2019
One of the best learning experiences I've ever had the pleasure to be part of. I've learned more than I could have ever imagined in the past 6 months, and it's been hard at times but totally worth it. The instructors really care about seeing you make it and are more than willing to spend time after class or whenever to help if you're stuck. There is a strong emphasis on being comfortable if you don't get something straight away, it'll click eventually, and that's ok. 100% recommend this course and environment for anyone who is interested in coding, great people, and a 5-star learning environment. Thanks Coder Academy, I couldn't have done it without you!
