UI / UX Design Career Track

I just finished the UI/UX Design Career Track at Springboard and I was able to get the job guarantee status. During the course, it was a great experience. I had all material and support needed. The opportunity of having a mentor was also one of the best things as you have someone to actually look at your job and give you a precise feedback. The opportunity of creating projects and also a professional one for a real company made my experience even better. Also, the career strategy is great. I feel that I will be able to get a job soon. I let you guys know how it will work for me. 

The UI/UX Design Track was a great experience. I would recommend it to everyone. The course is divided into sections that consist of reading material and projects. All those projects are steps to creating a mobile or web app. The reading material is very good and you can find a lot of interesting additional links that can help you in your designs. The best thing about the course is mentoring. You get 30 mins of weekly mentoring and if your mentor is as good as mine, it will be a big bonus for your knowledge.

Excellent ! User friendly dashboard. Highly recommended for working professionals and people who want to shift in their career. Course is presented such a way that your doubts get cleared automatically.

This program was truly amazing! From start to end it was a great process. The weekly mentorship with an industry expert was invaluable. Along the way, I was able to reach out to my student advisor via email. Everyone was responsive and very quick to assist. The materials learned were also such great resources. I still have a lot to learn, but feel prepared to begin my career!

Springboard helped me transform my graphic design skills into UX skills. I completed the UI/UX Career track in May 2022 and landed a contract position in August 2022 that turned into a full time opportunity. Those months of applying for jobs was the hardest and I wasn’t prepared for just how competitive the field is. Having support from Springboard after finishing the course was especially important during that time to keep me motivated. I’m very happy in my new role and glad I enrolled in Springboard to jumpstart a new career. 

The Springboard UX/UI boot camp is an excellent program for students who are looking for a structured and supportive learning experience. From start to finish, the program provides a comprehensive curriculum that prepares students for success in the field of UX/UI design. Throughout the entire program, I felt that I was well taken care of. The instructors were knowledgeable and supportive, and they were always available to answer my questions and provide guidance when needed. The curriculum was well-organized and provided a balance between theory and hands-on practice.
One of the things that I appreciated the most about the program was the level of support that was provided. From weekly check-ins with my mentor to access to a community of like-minded learners, I never felt like I was going through the program alone. Overall, I highly recommend the Springboard UX/UI boot camp to anyone who is serious about pursuing a career in UX/UI design and don't have the time to look up all their resources. The program provides a comprehensive and supportive learning experience that prepares students for success in this exciting field.

I would recommend the Springboard bootcamp solely based on my experience with my mentor. What you get out of this program will be based on what you put into it. I was very lucky to work with a mentor who was willing to actually look at my work and give me constructive criticism and help me build myself up instead of just passing me on everything. The point of the bootcamp isn't just to pass through all the steps but to actually learn from what you're doing. Make sure to put forth the effort and you'll excel.

I want to start off by saying that Springboard helped me make what was a dream into a reality. I previously worked in a completely different industry (aviation), but I knew I wanted to do something more creative and make more money. So after extensive research, I decided to go with Springboard for various reasons:
They offer mentorship with a designer in the field, and you will meet with them weekly.
They offer a job guarantee depending on where you live.
They offer an "internship" as your last project, where you can gain real-world experience with an actual company they pair you up with.
All these things they offered followed through and helped me build the portfolio I needed to land interviews. A month before I completed the course, I accepted an offer to an internship with a company where I currently work full-time at. I owe my success in changing my career into UX/ UI design to Springboard. Their program helped me develop the needed skills and create a portfolio that helped me land internships and jobs. Of course, nothing is perfect. There are things I wish Springboard could have offered. For example, I wished I could work with people other than designers, like engineers. Another thing I wanted Springboard to provide in their program was more visual design training/ lessons. I felt like I needed some prior visual design skills to begin this course. Overall, Springboard is a great place to kick-start your UX/UI design career change. I highly recommend their program if this is something you see yourself pursuing.

I had a really good experience with Springboard. I spent about 9 months in the UX/UI Design program and learned an array of topics from foundations to working on a capstone project for an overseas client. The staff was super friendly and cooperative. My mentor was probably the best part of the bootcamp. I really connected with her and learned a lot from her processes. I also want to mention this bootcamp offers a career coach after graduation, and I was so glad to come across an amazing career coach as well. She helped me with grasping rejections as well as focusing on the process, rather than the end result. 

The course structure is good and gives a holistic view of what is included in UX/UI work, for those willing to dedicate the time there is good value here. The most valuable aspects, in my opinion, depends heavily upon the mentor and career coaches you are assigned. You can do all of the work and learn many of the steps of the UX/UI design process, but in the end you (like myself) are probably considering enrollment to land an actual paying role in the field. You will most likely come away with a usable portfolio (depending upon the time YOU put in), however the projects are relatively easy to identify as academic projects. Not to short-change the value of the curriculum, it is quite valuable and methodic (in a good way).For this reason, the insights, feedback and guidance you receive from your mentor and career coach can be invaluable and really help before and during the job search. I was incredibly fortunate to have an amazing mentor who was both brutally honest and encouraging. This allowed me to make great progress in my knowledge of UX/UI design, as well as how to identify and frame my past experience as an asset in future roles. Without this and his early encouragement for me to reach-out and create relationships with those in roles I aspired to fill, I think it would have taken me much longer to break into the Product Deign world.Additionally, my career coach was an amazing source of support, feedback and encouragement, while I was navigating this challenging carer pivot.Unfortunately, speaking to fellow alumni this was not the experience of many of my piers.In the end, I think an individual can benefit greatly from Springboard's UX-UI design program if they dedicate the appropriate time and maintain a growth mindset. But the learning curve and job search can be greatly accelerated with the right mentor and career coach.

Springboard really helped me excel in my career in UX Design. As someone who self-taught UX, I thought this bootcamp really helped me prep for interviews and helped me prep my portfolio. The most essential part of any UX Bootcamp is the mentorship which I received excellent mentorship and advice throughout my journey at Springboard. I received helpful feedback and constant support.

I chose the UI/UX career track at  Springboard largely because it let me set my own pace while still giving me access to mentors and other help if I needed it. I enjoyed the course material and the way it was separated into to small buildable chunks that provided easy spots to stop. I feel confident that I have learned the tools I need to be successful in the UI/UX field. I also appreciate that the projects provide you with case studies to create a portfolio website. Overall I enjoyed my course. 

I attended the UXUI Career track program at Springboard. The bootcamp provided me the launching pad I needed to get into the industry and kick start my career. The bootcamp is intense but full of all the skills I needed to change my life. 

I enjoyed this program. I had a great mentor and enjoyed my career coach and the career curriculum. Good overall curriculum and projects. The curriculum is based on some curated materials by Springboard and then materials from all around the web, Lynda, Linkedin, ...etc.

Springboard stood out to me over all the other bootcamps since there are 4 in-depth portfolio projects, and one of them has you work with a real client. You are guided into creating your portfolio which is the most valuable tangible thing that I got out of Springboard. My mentor was great, and Springboard took care of any problems I had. You also have access to a lot of resources through their community.

If you are considering a bootcamp as your path into UX here is what I would take into consideration. What is your learning style? What sort of support do you need? How much time can you realistically commit to your course? Why do you want to transition into UX? How does your previous job (or school) experience relate to UX? As far as learning style goes you need to be able to self teach and pace. The curriculum is set up where you work independently for a week on reading articles watching videos and acquring knowledge that way and then applying it to the best of your ability in the form of a deliverable or project. You have access to their student community and their network of hiring professionals and most importantly you have a 30 minute meeting with a mentor once a week. For me meeting with my mentor was the most important factor. My mentor was absolutely amazing, he pushed me to be the best that I could be in this course and I am so appreciative of that. It is important that you have a mentor that suits you. Do not be afraid to request a different mentor if you are not getting what you need. That being said the sooner you do this the better.As far as support my mentor was really all I felt I needed but there are plenty of ways to get more support and in my experience any of the career coaches and hiring professionals and even senior level UX designers that you have access to throughout the course are very helpful and responsive.TIME... How much time can you realistically spend on this course is a big question you should ask yourself upfront. If your job or outside school work is very demanding this also requires a significant amount of time attention and care. You cannot expect to skip and BS your way through this program. I recommend putting time on your calendar that you intend to dedicate to the course. This could help you stay focused and finish on time.If you only want to transition into UX for the money this course will likely be quite difficult or cumbersome to you. UX is a very empathetic creative and thoughtful field. You will need the passion behind your why to really push you through when you are having a hard time or feeling unsure. Also there is no magic besides hard work that will get you a 6 figure job at the end of it. So you will get out of this exactly the work you put into it. If you want a 6 figure job work like a 6 figure worker at this.Start thinking now about how your current experience and background relates to UX. Did you work in sales or customer service? A background in Psychology? The skills you have gained in your previous experience are not for nothing using them to your advantage and being trying to leverage what you already know. Eventually, you will have a story that is your resume and your elevator pitch and many other ways to express to someone why it is you are transitioning or moving into UX and what you can bring to the table.

I chose Springboard for its dedicated career support, industry portfolio projects, and mentorship guidance. So far, it's been a great choice in allowing me to learn all the tools in the UX process and put it into practice on a passion project. On call mentors and weekly check-ins with mentor are really helpful, though their advice can vary (so it's good to get different perspectives). Would echo another review that says it's really what you make it -- quality of your work and portfolio can vary depending on what other tools/skills you decide to practice/learn. I highly recommend this course if you're looking to switch into UX and need a guided /supportive path to get there!

My mentor was the key to my success at Springboard - we would have weekly meetings where we would go over my work and design and since he was from the same field, he would provide his critique, feedback and any other helpful resources he could in order for me to achieve better work. 

The Springboard UI UX Bootcamp is a great introduction to the field of UI UX Design. I feel I learned enough to excel in the industry, and received step by step learning along the way. It is quite challenging - and I think if you work during the course it is quite challenging to finish in the 9 month timeline, but the student advisors and mentors were very helpful in making sure I received the support I needed to complete the course.
