SheCodes Basics

SheCodes has taught me things I NEVER thought I could even look at and not freak out. These 3 weeks have been really fun, despite the challenges. I would recommend SheCodes to anyone who wants to try something different and so relevant to the era we live in. I look forward to moving forward in this course and I genuinely believe that once I am certified by SheCodes, I will be able to work as a Front End developer.

I enjoyed very much this online course SheCodes ✨, I didn't expect to learn so many interesting things and to have so much fun. I'm a beginner, I even didn't know what HTML or CSS or JavaScript is 😊. I like a lot how Matt is teaching, his very natural style, easy to understand. I highly recommend the course! And because I really enjoy it and find it very useful for a carrier as Front end Dev. as I would like to pursue, I decided to continue to study and I enrolled to the advanced classes SheCodes Plus React.

 SheCodes is a very good platform to learn how to code for beginners. Challenges after the lessons is very helpful way to practise. The teaching method in the videos is great!! First, he shows the basic method and then gradually goes the advance. Very very recommendable for absolute beginners.

I never thought I would ever take a coding course, but I am extremely glad that I did, especially one from SheCodes. At first, I was a bit overwhelmed by the idea of learning how to code. However, Matt Delac’s unique way of teaching this male-dominated field took that feeling away immediately. His course is well-organised and the topics are explained thoroughly. I was able to absorb the basics of coding (HTML/CSS and JavaScript) in such a short period of time, and the workshop also paved a new path for me. I cannot wait to upskill myself with his more advanced classes!

 I signed up for the 3 month workshop but I've loved it so far, the three week one has been really fullfilling, I've learned a lot and I found the methods easy to follow, it's pretty easy to understand Matt and I really love the page interface. I'm looking forward to continue.

 “I have worked in IT sector as a sales specialist for some time now and because of that fact I was always near coding but thought that it is too complicated for me. I stumbled upon a free class and thought to myself why not. After this beginner workshop I am quite sure that coding isn't the boogie man. Lectures are superbe and everything is explained very good. Before I took this online course, I had no idea how to write codes.  This workshop was an amazing and enjoyable experience!Here is why I like this workshop...100% online, self-pace    There are homeworks every week and I could finish earlier than the deadline and do next.  If you are busy and cannot submit the homework before the deadline, you can ask for an extension.leraning by doing   After watching videos, you write codes by yourself, using VS Code.  I was be able to see the results of my codes immediately and understand how it worked.  It is a practical way to learn.Help in Slack chat   Whenever I have questions, I could ask the teachers and other participants in Slack.International   I'm from Japan and English is not my native language, but I could follw what Matt explains.  There are many students from all over the world at Shecodes.  If the videos had closed captions or subtitles, it would be easier for non-native English speakers.

This course cleared up all of my "what is that?", "what does this do?", "what does this mean?"...."what?!?!?" feelings. I now understand what coders are referring to on stackoverflow, github, and reddit when I search for a term, a way to do something, or when I'm generally curious. Overall this course flows at an excellent pace, is broken down into little snippets, and sprinkles in various little surprises here and there. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to start somewhere without feeling overwhelmed by scattered, never-ending information and resources on the internet. And on top of that, I was able to find a lot of interesting things outside of the scope of this course from the suggestions in each video. I really appreciated all the help on the slack channel, too!

I have done many courses on learning how to code. SheCodes is one of the best one I've come across: beautiful and very user friendly onboarding, clear and informative lessons (Mat is a great teacher!), and amazing support on Slack. I highly recommend it :)

Hello, I have done the 3-weeks SheCodes workshop. I really enjoyed it, I have learned a lot in a little amount of time. The course didn't feel messy or hard to follow. It is really well planned and explained. I am currently doing the SheCodes Plus workshop and I didn't change my mind, it still feels super good to learn there and I recommend it a lot. Alexane

I am a Mechanical Engineer learning how to code, to gain new perspectives and opportunities. With SheCodes I have learned several coding languages in a practical and dynamic way, I feel ready to learn more and start using my knowledge. I highly recommend the content to anyone interest in coding, even if you have no prior knowledge, it's all very well explained and hands on! Just do it.

Excellent online workshop! Would recommend to anyone to enroll.Learned a lot and now I feel more confident expanding my coding skills.I loved how this program is structured, the assistance, the teacher, the format..

I was initially hesitant to sign up for a bootcamp because I had enrolled in one to hone my skills, but there was very little help with questions and the staff was hard to contact and rude. I felt like they wanted to enroll students for money and did not care about student’s success, so I withdrew. and vowed never again to try a bootcamp. But then I saw so many comments about what a great community SheCodes was and some of the projects online. The name also got my attention being that it is for women, so, I signed up for the Express course (which was awesome). It gave me good insight and a feel for what's to come, so I had an idea of what my experience would be like. When I enrolled, it far exceeded my expectations! SheCodes, is not a typical "bootcamp." Even though the classes are online, it feels like a school that cares about its student body. Matt provides really detailed instruction that is really easy to code along, understand and retain. He also suggests that students keep practicing and reviewing the material so that we can get the material down pat. He also offers tips that help students truly develop into confident professionals - which is major! I am so excited to finally LEARN! I feel confident in what I am learning, and it makes me work harder and try new things - which Matt encourages. SheCodes brought my career aspirations back to life and I am so very grateful! I am continuing with the SheCodes Plus (enrolled now) and React courses (next). SheCodes that good! I stay up all night working on my assignments because I do not want to stop. 🙃  I would say to any woman that desires to get into programming to try SheCodes. It is a wonderful program!
