SheCodes Basics

I've been trying to learn coding since I was 11, when I was copy pasting basic html snippets to change my Neopets shop background 😂I've never really been successful, until now.Every time I have tried to take a web development course the instructions have always seemed abstract and disjointed. This course has by far had the simplest break down of how each language actually works and how they all are used together.I've learned more HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in 2 weeks than I have in 18 years. Now onto the second workshop! Thanks Matt Delac and SheCodes. 

Being a medical student, juggling three jobs, course work and medical placement; I didn't think it was even remotely possible to pick up a new skill like coding! I always thought it would be wayy too difficult and I wouldn't find the time but this course made it so straight forward to build a foundation. I am so happy now as I will be able to explore a whole new world of ideas and innovations and be able to know the basic working of them. Can't wait to see what the future holds, maybe build a website or even an app?! Who knows

I have truly enjoyed the SheCodes community, workshop, and assignments. Each week I've been gaining more and more confidence. Being able to see the results of my work was inspiring and motivating to learn more and explore the world of coding. When I started working in the IT industry, I didn't feel like I belonged there. I was very impressed with this course because I don't like to take courses on the internet, and I saw the ad, it caught my attention and I signed up, but I didn't know what to expect. I started the three week course, and I was always very attentive with the videos and exercises and Matt explains them very well step by step so you don't get lost and he can take the course with ease. The platform that handles "slack" helped me a lot when I didn't understand something, I put it there and they solved it for me. The course is highly recommended.” 

I am absolutely blown away! I honestly wasn't expecting an online workshop to be such a good learning experience. Matt is an incredible instructor and he made the lessons really fun. Every concept is broken down into bite sized portions, and while his lessons are clear, he also doesn't spoon feed you. You get to learn through hands on practice and trial and error, which really helped me understand the "why" behind the concepts. This course was challenging while still being totally doable. I was able to ask a ton of questions and get quick and helpful answers from both the other students and some awesome professional coders. Overall it's a 10/10! Thank you, SheCodes Team! 🥳

This is a fun and detailed course for beginners. However I needed more than 5 hours a week to commit to doing this, it was definitely worth it. Supported by a great SheCodes community on Slack. Thanks for helping me get accredited!

 “This was by far the best coding introduction. I wanted to start programming for a long time not necessary for web design, but for other programming languages that are more used in my field. Nevertheless the course was so intense that it kept me awake for some nights and was proud for each little step I got further. the structure was clear, easy to understand and I really enjoyed my final project. Wow I'm amazed at how much I've learned in just 3 weeks, going from zero coding experience to being able to build my very own website with buttons/urls that you can interact with. The course style of SheCodes is great with the small challenges after every lesson to give you tons of practice.

 The website is very user-friendly, easy to navigate. The classes are easy to follow and the challenges and homework are really fun. I finished the workshop very passionate to learn more! Highly recommended

I previously worked as a Digital Advertising Specialist for a media company in Washington DC. This is where I was first introduced to the coding world. I have advanced experience in HTML & CSS but, I knew I had only dipped my toes in the water. This was the moment I knew I wanted to pursue a career in programming (web developer/web design/frontend developer). I can say that the SheCodes Beginner Workshop taught me a lot. I now have a solid understanding of HTML, CSS & JavaScript. I’m excited to further my knowledge by taking the SheCodes Plus & React courses. I highly recommend these courses to anyone who would like to explore coding. You, truly, don't need any experience! You only need a little bit of dedication & hard work 😊

 I really enjoyed the little challenges and that the workshop is broken down into bite sized chunks. Matt definitely knows what he's doing and delivers the content very well.Currently in week three of the follow-up course SheCodes Plus, aced a telephone interview as Web Developer and have the technical interview coming up next week.Regardless of the outcome I will move on to SheCodes React after.It's a lot of fun and I highly recommend it.

SheCodes has challenged me in ways where I want to continue learning and grow as an individual, especially with coding. I was intimidated at first and I think the way Matt has taught the lessons made me finally understand and not be afraid. I am excited to continue learning with SheCodesPlus and SheCodes Plus React and change careers and be successful as a software developer. I can't wait to see where SheCodes takes me next!

I attended the 3 week workshop and learned basics of HTML, CSS and JavaScript. This course is great for beginners with no former knowledge of coding. Course is presented well by quite short video lessons, and I really appreciated that almost after every lesson there was a challenge to be completed to test if I understood everything before moving on. Another strong feature of this course is access to Slack, where you can communicate with teachers and fellow students, so whenever you get stuck, there is support available. Also seeing all the other students working hard and putting effort into their projects motivated me to do my best in the course.I will be joining more advanced workshop at she codes because I was very happy with it and would definitely recommend it to everyone.Happy coding!
