SheCodes Basics

This workshop was absolutely amazing! I was surprised with how quickly and easily I was able to learn the basics of coding. Matt's lessons are clear and very easy to follow, and completing the challenges at the end of the lessons really made me understand how everything works. I would definitely recommend anyone take this course. If you're looking for a taste of what coding is like, look no further!

After many years working with accounting, and increasingly becoming demotivated to continue, it was time to look for something new. The trigger to change was not easy and for a long time I kept looking at various career alternatives. Computers were always to me a source of information and entertainment, never a career option. I came across SheCodes through an add on Facebook. After researching the course and the inspiring posts made by former students, I decided to take the plunge and go all-in with the Pro program. With just completing the Basic course, I still cannot believe how much I have learned in such short period and how much fun I am having creating something completely new from scratch. With plenty to go, I am very excited to start SheCodes Plus next week! Thank you Matt and SheCodes team to provide us with this fun, creative and supportive way of learning!

The SheCodes workshop has been such a worthwhile learning experience. I have found it to be really engaging, fun, and easy to understand. The lessons are pitched at a really good level with challenges that keep you motivated and a great community at hand to help if you become stuck. How often do we girls hear that computer science is not for us? I don't know about you, but I've heard it quite often.That's why I was even more excited to learn that the SheCodes coding bootcamp was created specially for girls. In addition to the excellent introductory course into coding, very clear and well-thought-out structure and interesting challenges, the philosophy of the creators of SheCodes is very close to my own values - making programming world a little more gender diverse, as well as giving girls a chance to try themselves in a highly paid profession. Go girls! Even if it doesn't work out, at least you won't regret not trying. 

Coding has been something I've always wanted to learn and explore as a potential career, and it's not like I didn't try. I've read books, watched YouTube videos, and had friends explain it to me, but still, I couldn't wrap my head around it. This has been the best workshop I've invested in, and will HIGHLY recommend to anyone looking to explore coding as a career or even hobby. The content is great and easy to understand. I work full-time and with their bite-size learning, I've been able to do both without feeling overwhelmed. I've finally been able to invest in a lifelong dream.

I learnt HTML and CSS in the early 2000s and tried my hand at being a front-end developer. However, I felt like an imposter and lost my love for it because I couldn't get my head around JavaScript. After discovering SheCodes, I admittedly took a few months to finally take the plunge to enrol but I am extremely happy that I did! The way Matt breaks down each concept makes it incredibly easy to understand and apply. I truly wish SheCodes existed at the start of my career — my life would be very different today if it did. It's never too late though and I'm excited to start the next workshop!

I'm a 23-year-old college 'dropout' who was lost about the career I wanted to pursue in my future. After discovering what computer programming really consisted of, and starting to learn it by myself, I found SheCodes and I am so thankful that I did. The community and resources available here are a blessing and Matt is a fantastic instructor, and I am excited for my future in the programming space.

This was great! 🎉 A well-paced, user-friendly workshop. Matt is a great instructor, everything is explained in simple terms, and he literary guides you to understanding concepts. I had 0 experience in coding, but curious, and now I feel quite comfortable reading and writing simple code! I'm actually thinking of enrolling in Plus💪🏻

I've learned elements of coding before, so this served as a refresher course in helping cement my skills. Compared to other places I learned from, I found this was far more palatable when learning step-by-step, the explanations were easier to digest, and even something that can get complicated quickly, like JavaScript, was easier to understand.
