Course Review: NeoTech Automation QA ProgramAs someone who completed the NeoTech Automation Testing course in the summer of 2024, I feel compelled to offer a candid review. While the course provided some valuable skills relevant to automation testing, it’s essential to consider a few critical factors before investing your time and money.First, it’s important to note that many employers in the tech industry still prefer candidates with a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field. While it's not impossible to secure a job without a degree, it can certainly limit your opportunities, as most employers do require formal education.The course itself was decent, though the format felt somewhat static—more like watching YouTube tutorials than engaging in an interactive learning experience. While the instructors were knowledgeable and approachable, the level of support could have been stronger.One crucial piece of advice: before committing to the program—which costs almost $5,000 and takes over six months to complete—I highly recommend doing thorough research on the current job market. Remote positions are rare, and many companies are reverting to on-site roles. Additionally, while the course advertises competitive salaries, the reality is that average salaries in the field are currently around $85,000 per year, with some positions offering less than $20 per hour.Finally, I suggest testing your chances by creating a resume with the skills taught in the course, even if you're still in the early stages. Submit applications to get a feel for what employers are looking for and assess your real chances of landing a job.It's worth noting that three months after graduating, I haven't heard of anyone from my batch landing employment. This doesn’t necessarily reflect the quality of the course, but it’s important to manage your expectations and be aware of the challenges ahead.

The bootcamp made plenty of claims, like making a hefty six figure salary, and a smooth transition into tech without a degree in CS, I did not think they would really back those claims, but they did. I was working in finance, the pay was great but it was stressing me out to the point I wanted to explore other options. Tech seemed like a lucrative field and thanks to Neotech, I actually made it. I work for a consulting firm, the things they teach you at the bootcamp will help you stand out besides I didn't think an opportunity like this existed so I am happy with how things have turned out and with the number of interviews I've given, no one ever did care about my degree.

I discovered Neotech thanks to an influencer who became a QA after taking their bootcamp. The influencer is someone I look up to, so it helped me clear any trust issues. I have a psychology degree from back home, but I relocated to the US before I could do my clinical master’s. The cost of a masters degree in the US is simply too expensive for a newly-arrived immigrant like myself, so I abandoned that path and instead joined the Academy. The bootcamp was intense, because the goal is to get you somewhere quickly. I committed myself to never miss a class, actively participating in all the mentor sessions and additional sections offered. I did all the homework, attended every mock interview and then some. And I am so grateful that Neotech matched my ambition and enthusiasm by helping me at every point. I actually didn’t start applying for jobs until a month after graduation because I wanted to prepare myself more for interviews. Neotech provides you career services until you accept a job offer, so my mentor provided full support during the month when I did interview prep. To my surprise, my first interview led to an offer, and I decided to accept it even though people said I could get better offers if I waited, but I didn’t want to risk it. I am very happy with the decision I made when joining the bootcamp, and I now recommend it to everyone around me who need a new career. Thanks Neotech!

 Great learning experience, motivating environment, awesome people all the way from admissions specialists to career services ladies. Elion was so fun during classes, I sometimes wished he was my uncle or something. I had so much fun working with my project teams, they were all highly motivated like I was, and easy to work with. I actually work at the same company with one of my project members now! Another great opportunity was that whenever I had to miss a class due to work or family commitments, I could go back and watch its recording, and then reach out to one of the TAs of that class to ask any questions I might have. Overall, it was a very well-organized learning journey, which I recommend to everyone.

I’d say my grasp of soft skills is what got me through the interview that got me my job. To anyone considering this program, I say go for it. If you have the time, the belief in yourself, and can dedicate six months or more to it, you will find it to be a transformative experience. This bootcamp has the potential to change your life, just as it did mine​​.

I took Neotech’s QA bootcamp last year and now I’m currently six months into my first SDET job. I actually started with manual testing even though I was accepted into an automation role. Eventually, as a team we built a new framework from scratch, which was challenging because we were doing it in C while I was taught Java at the bootcamp. However, knowing my qualifications, my company was supportive so they didn’t expect me to master C so quickly. I caught up in a relatively short amount of time, though—I think I owe that to the instructors at Neotech for so masterfully teaching how to approach software testing instead of focusing on a single programming language. In conclusion, anyone looking for a comprehensive and rewarding training should definitely check out Neotech Academy, they are the best!

I'm so glad I chose NeoTech Academy to learn software testing. The instructors are knowledgeable and the curriculum is top-notch. I gained new skills, which I never thought I could possibly understand. The 6-month program is perfect for those who want to jumpstart or change their career quickly.

The NeoTech Academy team was Professional , full of knowledge and always ready to help. Being able to relate to my bootcamp members and meeting new people and making connections in the tech medium . Of course, aside from being able to change my whole career in 6 months. .My salary is 6 figures with good benefits. It’s a pretty large company and I’m working remotely. The work life balance is good, pretty flexible.

When I was searching for a bootcamp months ago, a friend who works in tech HR gave me this advice: “Don’t go to a large bootcamp because they push thousands of students into the market who have literally the same portfolio with the same projects and everything. It becomes really hard for those people to stand out among the crows.” I’m really glad I heeded his advice and chose neo tech. The projects we did were unique, judging from what I’ve seen on the GitHub profiles of other bootcamps. The cohort had all the advantages of a boutique course, with my mentor attending to me so closely that it even became annoying at times. I kid of course, you’re the best Klevis! 

I highly recommend this school. Teachers are very professional and very helpful. Professional skills training turned out to be the gamechanger during my interviews. Guest alumni who appeared in some lectures sometimes gave general answers to questions. But of course, inviting guests helped a lot to learn more about the industry and the day-to-day job of QAs

I decided to go with neotech because I’d heard a lot of good things about it from some of my friends, it’s been 3 months since I graduated from the bootcamp and I can say for sure, that it was worth it. I now, work as a quality assurance engineer at a start-up, I get paid pretty well considering I switched from journalism to this field. The best part about the bootcamp is that I still keep in touch with the instructors, they’re professional individuals and are always ready to help. I had a great experience with Neotech Academy!

I highly recommend this bootcamp. The lessons were intense, and I had a lot to learn because I didn’t have any background knowledge in software testing before. I used to be a flight attendant, which was a very busy life but it had been a long time since I sat down and studied intensely for something since college. But the instructors (s/o Elion and Sabah!) were great, they answered all my questions, even the most silly ones. I cannot thank the entire team enough.

NeoTech Academy's software testing Bootcamp was a game-changer for me. As a complete beginner, I was intimidated by the tech industry, but their beginner-friendly approach and instructors made the learning process very smooth. It took me only 2 months to find a QA job after graduating. The job assistance was great, helped me feel confident and prepared for interviews. I work as a QA Tester now, I studied business before and switched from Marketing to this field, I joined this bootcamp because of a recommendation from a friend who got a job a year after moving to the states, her life changed after she graduated from this bootcamp, so I decided to follow her advice and gave it a shot! I was slightly hesitant at first because I did not know anything about coding, starting with no experience and then getting a job in tech. but it happened, they pulled through with their promise. When it came to job hunting, the instructors  at the bootcamp were supportive throughout the entire process. The resume and mock interviews were covered pretty thoroughly during the course, it's honestly a surefire way of breaking into tech, I am so glad I took the risk and I was rewarded for it, it can be a bit slow in the beginning but I got used to it eventually.

The bootcamp was great but my advice is definitely take it seriously from start to finish. That goes for not just coding but soft skills training as well, those will make the difference when you begin competing with other candidates during job applications.

Definitely the boot camp you need to take! Excellent teachers ready to explain every detail, and class at a convenient time, they also have the coolest support team. One of the pros is the live pop-quizzes were so fun. Less so when I finished last.

The Neotech Academy team is wonderful! They’re so full of knowledge and always ready to help. When I first started the bootcamp, I had zero knowledge in QA or coding, or anything remotely related to software testing. I used to be a PM for an NGO and I was organizing events for them. I wanted to switch to tech because I wanted better pay. I work as a Software QA Engineer for a government contractor now. I hugely appreciate Neotech for helping me change my career. The mentors and everyone were so full of knowledge and always ready to help. It was also great to be surrounded by like-minded people as my classmates since we all had a common goal. 10/10 recommended.

If you want to change your career , this bootcamp is a great place to add to your current skills or learn something brand new. They provide a ton of information and have instructors who are open to answering lots of questions . I'm thankful for the experience.

I took NeoTECH’s bootcamp back in 2022. I was working at the same time but the class schedule was accommodating for those with a full time job. It was an intensive period and I learned a lot of things, but the job search was a journey in itself. I was very motivated and applied to numerous jobs, but the process took longer than expected, which became a bit demotivating at times, but at the end I found a job. My job now is closely aligned with what I learned at Neotech. So much so that I still use the material Neotech gave me when I can’t find a solution to something on Google or Chatgpt.
